"You remember the plan?" "Umm... y-yes!" "You ready?" "Well I..." "I thought you were hungry..." "I am!" "Well then, if you wanna eat, you'd better be ready!"
Kora hated using others for this kind of dirty busyness, particularly the new, fresh and still innocent faces... but she had no choice, she had to use people, sometimes. That's what life as a street kid was all about! Survival! Not only that, but this young boy, though not a day older then 12, would earn something valuable in return. He would gain the knowlege needed to survive on his own, on the streets. Without her help, he probably wouldn't make it. With her help, however, he'd be able to survive.
But still...
Kora crouched down a little and placed a confedant hand onto the young lad's shoulder. She looked straight into his eyes and smiled warmly.
"Remeber what I said? When's the best time to 'borrow' food?" "Dusk!... be-because that's when the shadows are o-out! And that's when the m-merchants are tired, eager to go h-home, and when their guard is down..." "...and?" "A-and if you wait t-t'il its too dark, that's when the c-crazies come out!" "That's m'boy!"
Kora smiled in spite of herself. Teaching such corrupt things to a young boy. Her stumach growled. She hadn't eaten in days... she had no choice. She nodded to the boy, gesturing that it was time to get started. She pressed her back against the gritty walls of the alleyway so she could stand hidden... ready... and waiting.
The boy rounded the corner and made his way towards the merchant. The prize, honey coated baked yams. The boy asked for a yam. The merchant scowled at his filthy apearance, shook his head, and handed him one. At that moment, the boy bolted off into a fast run! Without paying! Furious, the merchant wasn't about to let his shock get the best of him, and he, in return, chased after the young boy, leaving his cart behind!
All fell exacly into plan! Kora poked her head out from the alleyway, waiting for the right moment, and hurried over to the cart of yams. She took only enough to fill her backpack before hurrying off to their said meeting spot.
The old gnarled tree at the far end of the park had a neat little burrow beneath its thick roots that was hidden beneath a thick mane of shrubs. Ironically, the glowing moss around it helped hide it as well. The burrow, after a lot of Kora's previous hard work of gutting it out and patting down the soil with vegetation, was surprisingly spacious! You could fit 4 people to sit upright quite comfortably, with plenty of crawling space!
Now, the young lad shouldn't have a problem outrunning the old merchant. She wished he'd hurry though. If they would succeed, she could proudly tell the young boy that they've just 'Stuck it to the man'! That was her way of reasoning with the guilt.
((Yay! Introduction!))

Okay, she was guilty of being the one that line was stolen from, she'd admit it. But only in her head. The other's just got a smile, though she did catch Arthur's whispers. "You all can go if you want, Arthur I know your anxious to get out and see old memories." A look back to Meilikki. "Arthur grew up in Honorsfield...or rather back when it was still Lostagrace. Though a raise of an eyebrow as Tarathiel made himself known. "Well well, he's certinally grown hasn't he?" It was still odd to think of Tarathiel...and it would be if anyone had known him like they had.
"That's good, because sometimes people really really need to see other people. Like emergencies." Wasn't he cute? Of course he was. Though his attention too was drawn to Tarathiel, probably sheerly because the boy was indeed elven and a rather small child still at that. Like littler than Lharika. Malikhai had already grasped the concept that there were not many elven children around. So this was new and fascinating now wasn't it? Though he stayed put in his father's lap.
Isle gave a look and a nod to Piper and then one to Arthur too before manners to Meilikki. "I do hope you don't mind. First time in the Depths and well I just want to see everything...and Malik wants me to be familiar." See Malik? Isle could twist anyone's words to her liking. And then a look to Lharika. "Would you like to come with us or stay with your sister Lark?"
"He thinks it's food...underdark fish don't see too well." Setting the boy down again but not as close to the water's edge before giving a lopsided grin down to the boy. "Sure, I can show you how to fish...but you have to be careful. Wouldn't want to fall in the water." Looking around before locating one of those sickly trees and snapping a 'leafless' branch from it before handing it to the boy, going through belt pouched and finding some string and a metal ring wich was snapped in half and bent into his liking. Makeshift fishing pole. "You need some bait..." a sigh, "got a bug in your pocket?" He knew one was in there...there always was.

"Then we may have a problem. Even if we scale back up there, there is no telling how many traps are similar to this, and lead to this same fate." He held up his right hand, and it glowed with a white light. The halls elluminated, revealing that they had stumbled upon an ancient corridor, probably intentionally placed her to allow air currents to heat the stones. Maybe, the floor simply gave out, and what seemed to be a trap was nothing more than spontanious sturctural failure in the archetecture.
"I guess we will be able to get out..." Fin used both his hands to help Leaf to her feet. His cuirass took the blunt of the fall for him. "I think though, we might have a problem." He moved his hand to show what appeared to be a gigantic snake skin laying about the floor. "I think we might have a preditor to deal with in the near future." Shining his hand about, the pathe went in all four directions, and broke into similar intersenctions as far as he could see in either direction. His infravision would not allow him to see any patterns due to the the lack of heat transferance. In other words, there was nothing to see except a blank wall of red in every direction. Some wards can cause this effect, as well as lava flows and similar large heat sources. The air was thick, and somewhat hard to breath (not to mention falling maby fifty feet).

Rusty let out a tiny snort and came to a complete stop. He shook his entire body as if he was shaking off water and let his hands fall onto the ground. Now that he was on all fours he could finally use is agility and speed at full.
He couldn't help but smile as he started running on all fours. It had been ages since he had done so. He quickly caught up to the Deidrick and since he was on all fours, he didn't lose breath as quickly.
"Thanks for reminding me of my only useful skill... I had almost forgot I could run so well on all fours..."

"Lharika." She smiled shyly before turning her gaze on Isle and thinking about it. "I want to come with you and Arthur, Isle." Thus slipping off the chair and waving to Malikhai.
"Oh, well if it doesn't taste good, how come he still eats it?" then a giggle. "Like you, Daddy." But his attention went back to his father and he nodded. "Yup." Digging through his pocket he pulled out three of them, one that wasn't quite dead yet and offered them up to his father. "I wanted Nym to have a buffet when we got back home. And this one is going in my collection." Showing him a very interesting looking polka dotted bug with six legs.

Onyx roused himself from slumber, giving the feline yawn/roar sound, and spread his wings, sratching and getting himself up for the day. though ears picked up voices. one was Piper's. what the heck was she doing here?
Malik smirked lightly.
"I do not lock myself in a room."
though a nod to Tarathiel, the koada'dal version...and set his son down on the ground.
"your turn."
Hey, he had to be good and introduce himself too.

Meilikki sighed and straightened Taratheils hair (a habit she had goteen herself into, demenstrated also by her braiding of Keeky's hair) "Yes, he grows fast even for an elf. And he plays alot of that dragon." Which surprisingly, reminded her of herself as a child. Except that she never saw Tanundra's face until the day he died.
"By all means, please visit the city. There is no obligation holding you here." She smiled. "Feel free to come back anytime."
"But I must confess, Piper. I did invite you here with entirely selfish intentions."
Deidrick Held his head high as he ran. "It is important for a soul to embrace his bodie's origins." He And rounding a corner, he three heads collided with the running figure of a girl holding yams. He got suace on his noses.
Leaf kciked the skin with her foot, brushing what dirt she could off her clothes. "Is it a basalisk, or just a snake? As much as I am able, I would prefer not to be running blind."
She looked down the tunnles before them, contemplating which way would be best to ho. She placed a ahnd on her dirk, and took the second passage from the left of her.

(Tara will post after Malikhai)
Fin followed suite, holding his hand gently about, shining it down the various corridors. "I wonder when I became able to generate light?" He asked allowed, before hearing a rather wet step. He looked down, and watched the grownd slide away from him. "I think its a big snake. Basiliks have legs more often than not."

Rusty tried to come to an abrupt stop and evade the collision but ended up running straight into the the three headed dog. He winced as his body was sent flying backward in a quick gesture he flipped his body around and landed on his four legs sliding back a bit from the impact.
He just stood there, tense and shocked. His tail was puffed up, his back slightly rounded and his ears bent backwards almost like a menacing stance but his eyes completely showed otherwise, they were wide and definitly showed signs of scaredness.

Arthur blinked a few times and smiled sheepishly when Piper caught his little tour mention towards Isle and the little elf sitting next to her. "Oh thanks Piper I really didn't want to be rude that's all with you talking to Meilikki and whatnot..." Yup Arthur hated butting in when other people are talking, he would only do so if he had no choice in the matter but right now they were seated in front of someone who use to be an Oracle so he had to be really polite. "Yup its true I lived around here a lot when I was a tiny elf, but now I'm at Twilight with Piper, Malik and all the rest." Yup he was proud to have grown up here, he has made a lot of friends who had come and gone and yet some of them were still living even to this day, so he hoped he would be able to meet some of them while they were outside. When Isle asked little Lharika of she wanted to come along Arthur was happy to hear that she wanted to and grabbed his katana as he stood up. "Well then lets get going eh? Meilikki it was great to meet you and I hope I can see you again before we leave." He said with a small smile and a light bow before heading to the doorway, pausing to wait for the others to come along.

There was a bit of grabby clinging as he father set him to the ground and more or less cut of his wholly comfortable sitting zone. He would of side stepped behind the chair had his father's hand not been there to stop him. After all, Tarathiel was obviously older and bigger than Malikhai was and that little toddler wasn't too keen about that. He wasn't with anyone really.
Okay so let's take a moment to process this. There was something else about Tarathiel that was off...what was it...oh yes, that was it. He was pale like mommy and her family were. And had pointy ears. He knew there weren't many like that down here, but apparently Tarathiel lived here. A look to daddy as if for support but he knew he had to be brave by himself too. He opened his mouth to say something, then closed it as he thought better of something and let his fingers play with the tied ends of his bandana a moment. Okay be brave. Thus he did his normal routine of setting his hands by his sides and puffing his chest out slightly. "I'm Malikhai D'vinn." Because he always introduced with his last name. But of course the moment he did that he side stepped slightly toward his father.
Piper watched her son a moment, after all little bond notions were going off at him not being oh so happy with the moment but wanting to be curious about it all at the same time. Oh those days. But Malik had that monitored now didn't he? Thusly her attention turned back to Meilikki with a nod. "It's the underdark, we're all selfish down here or else we don't survive." Truth spoken on that note wasn't it? "So then, be selfish, what did you want of me?" But of course a little mental message to Arthur. "Careful, she's not used to humans."
Isle nodded and then stood from her chair and took Lark's hand, pulling the girl along with her. "Nice to meet you Meilikki, no doubt my curious self will be back." A giggle at that before she followed Galesen out and into the streets. "So, where first?"
"Fish don't have a sense of taste really." Though a raise of an eyebrow as the boy then compared him to a fish. "Yes yes, I have a fish's sense of taste." Shaking his head lightly then tryign to not say anything as the boy pulled out not one bug but a selection. "You can get him more, and keep the one you want." Thus taking one of the others form him and putting it on the hook, then handing the pole to the boy. "There, now just hold tight to it and whip it so the string goes over the water and hte end plops in." Step one, always easy.

Tarathiel bowed, he was only half a foot taller than the other elf child, and physically only a year and a half older. "It is a pleasure to meet you, Malikhai of D'vinn." The elf looked about the 'adults's faces, and felt a chill go down his spine. "Why do they look at me like I am a murderer?" He asked Meilikki openly.

Lharika's protective instinct was coming out and she glanced back even while Isle pulled her out and she watched Malikhai. He would be okay though, he had Piper and Malik and the others to keep him safe. "Where are we going exactly Isle?" Hurrying to keep up with the older elf as seh glanced at Arthur and then back at Isle, curious now that she was away from people she didn't know.
He tucked the other bugs back in his pockets and watched his father listening intently and filing away his directions for when he chose to fish again. He took the pole and watched the water then brought both arms back and held tightly to it then flung the string into the water, the metal hitting with a plop. "Now what?" Though his elven mind could interpret what would happen next. "Now I gotta be patient and wait don't I?"

Meilikki smiled and gave farewells to those leaving before she regarded Piper once again. And she wa about to answer her question when Taratheil interupted with his question. She looked at him a moment. "You are too perceptive for one your age." And a sigh. Celeste had been as open as was able about the child's death and rebirth, but the new Taratheil had difficult gripping these odd thoughts and looks he picked up, seeing as he didn't retain much of what he'd learned with Kim.
"Because they don't know you, dearheart. People see others as something to be weary of until they get to know them better." She hoped for now that would quell the boys questions, though she did not think he beleived what she said. She looked at Piper in appology.
Leaf nodded. "Snakes are simpler."
And a shrug. "Since the battle with the orcs." She smelled at the air, hopeing to get a whiff of the creature before it came apon them. Of course, it was possible that the snake was no where near them at this point.

"Because the other one to bear your name openly...even though it was false, was a voilent and brutal pirate captian that was responisble for about as much death and destruction as good."
A slight smirk.
"Most your present guardians and friends served under him in one form or another."
Hey, Malik didn't hold back on that account. a small grin at Malikhai.
"good work."
Praise was always good or his son to get used to being a bit more open with people.
