Mari even spoke up. "Yea. We just took care of them and made sure nothing happened."
The older Mari looked at herself to what would be to her the past. She then glared at her husband and muttered so only they could hear. "See. I told you I never used to be this size. It's all your fault." Garreth just had his arms crossed and was glaring at Raine and Cyan because they both got him into trouble and Cyan was still just mumbling because of the punishment.
Mari kinda gave a hesitant smile. She didn't hear what her future self said to the future version of Smash and could only wonder what it was.

*he walked up to smash and smiled a bit*
thanks for taking care of them. i suppose the best babysitters we could get would be ourselves.

The Mari from the future nodded and put her hands on both the boys' shoulders. "Yes. I'm just glad they ended up with someone who would take care of them." Garreth looked up towards the present Mari and Smash and smiled. "It's okay. We wouldn't of let anything bad happen to them." While they were all occupied with talking, Cyan pinched his sister's arm out of boredom.

*she jumped and glared at him. she smacked him upside the head and growled a bit*
*he nodded and looked from mari to smash*
man. looking at you really bring back memories.
*he looked at garreth and smiled back. he looked back at smash and nodded*
i bet. looks like you, err i mean i get pretty strong in the future.

Cyan got smacked and let out a little yelp. He then shoved her and Mari grabbed them both by their arms and glared. "You two need to stop trying to give me gray hair before I'm 50." The present Mari just looked at both of them and nodded in agreeance. "I don't think we have much to worry about." She smiled and stayed beside Smash.

when you get older you'll understand that being strong isn't all that important. trust me.

Mari had questions of her own, but part of her didn't want to know. She just stayed where she was and listened. The older Mari gave a sigh and shrugged. "Doesn't matter what you hear. I'm going to have to erase both of your memories of this incident." Garreth gave a somewhat sad smile. The same one he was giving Mari since the moment he arrived.

Mari didn't want her memories to be erased, but understood what they meant. If they knew, everything might be altered, though she didn't want to forget about the kids. Cyan had a sad look on his face and didn't say anything and neither did the future version of Mari. Garreth looked up at the present Smash that he had only known for a day and gave him the same sad smile he gave Mari.

*he looked at the kids nerviously then looked back at his older self. he didin't want to lose the memories of his future kids. he espically didn't like the idea of anyone messing with his head. he understood what they meant but couldn't help but be hesitant. his hands and head dropped down and sighed*

i know. i hate when anyone tries to mess up my mind too. but it can't be helped. it has to be done.

The future Mari just walked over to him and lifted his head up to look at her by his chin. "Don't you trust me?" She smiled gently and looked at him through her gray eyes. The present Mari knew she had the ability to erase memories, but she had never a need to use it before. She could only wonder if this was the first time she had to. "If it makes you feel any better, you both can ask any questions you want and we'll answer them. Futile, I know, since you're just going to forget, but still."
