Camwen Exxos We'll miss you little dude, but you have to do what you have to to survive and flourish. The more time I spend here, the more I see this as a kind of nursery, a launchpad, for adults to get the help they need and reorganize their lives. It makes guildies a breed destined to leave, but we forge strong friendships here that we can take with us as we move on in life. That's not true of everyone sweetie. Some of us already have lives and this is simply a fun place to hang out -- not a place to avoid real life. If this is used as a crutch for you than I completely agree with trying to live without it. But please don't assume it's a "nursery" for all. heart I did not mean it as hiding. I meant it more in the way of being a sanctuary in helping us all face RL. Just clarifying. And yes, many have stayed in the guild a long time, but then again, Gaia itself is not even old enough for a full circle to complete.

And yes, many have stayed in the guild a long time, but then again, Gaia itself is not even old enough for a full circle to complete. I'm not trying to argue that Gaia isn't a great place to escape reality when needed. And I think it's also a fantastic place to support one another through troubles. I only wanted to point out that you can't generalize what Gaia is to all members. It's not just some halfway house that you must leave after rehabilitation. (though I agree that nothing lasts forever, least of all guilds - and chances are every one of us will have to abandon this for something else sooner or later) I do find it interesting that so many people do indeed use sites like this as an escape rather than just a fun hangout that adds to life instead of replacing it. The internet as a whole can be such a boon to people who have no other connection to others in real life. It's hard to remember what life was like without it now. lol As a mom to young children I admit I enjoy being able to connect with other grownups when I'm dealing with kids all day. I do have other adult friends in real life but at this point in my life I don't have the opportunity to hang out with them as much as I'd like. We all are busy taking care of our families. smile I certainly don't mean any disrespect to those who need it primarily as an escape from life. I've been through dark periods in my life as well (darker than you probably would believe of me.) Maybe I just dislike generalizations. Please don't misunderstand this is as an attack of some kind or think I'm all annoyed. I'm not! honest heart I'm just offering another point of view.

Sorry for going on the defensive there. I have just been really sensitive to misunderstandings, perceived or otherwise, as of late, that I have to jump jump on them.
Though I think that I have come a long way in this regard as i use to be far more erratic and unstable.

4 am and I'm still awake. 33 hours and counting... need sleep... gonk
Edit: fell asleep around 5:30 or so. The kids woke me at 7:30 and my right shoulder muscle is in so much pain! I took a muscle relaxant but only time will tell if it will help. I do feel rested though which is nice.

No worries smile I can get pretty defensive myself. lol I think it's pretty obvious that you and I see the world differently. But I'm also very grateful to have people like you in my life to show me other perspectives and ways of thinking. Our friendship might take a little extra effort but I believe it's worth it in the end.

Well your local lamb has lost a big chunk in his life again this month.. My girlfriend.. ended up going back to her husband she was getting divorced from.. reasoning why... I have had no luck with employment and its hard to pay the bills with just her income.. and with him she could do it.. she is not happy with him.. but it was her choice and I honored that.
So I feel as if my heart has been ripped out my chest and squished.. and is no longer mendable.. but I am going to recover from this.

A heart is always mendable if not always able to be fully restored. Friends and time can sew it up, relight the fire in the blackened parts, and bring a new strength and life into it. But those of us with broken, tattered hearts will find someone who complements and completes us more easily, because the holes and tears in our hearts, that those people come to fill, are all the more apparent and easy to see.
I am sorry to hear things did not work out. I have to admit, the romantic fool in me wishes for a world where love was not so mired by society and survival within it.

This new job's really great 'n all, while it's ruining my geeky- love time. I'll be working away, when I could be playing video games, watching anime and exploring Gaia, with my friends.
Darn you, pay- check! You ruin everything, yet fix so much. What gives..?
