"Yes, I will try to be pleasent."

A slight smirk at his wife, before getting himself up.

"I'm always at least cordially pleasent when visiting smoeone else, you know that."

and of course he hears about it later when all the negative that stays below the surface gets bond awareness. But he does at least stay surface pleasent to everyone.

"I see, so that's what all the land development and the little villiage is all about. Amazing what can happen in three years...though it has been six in Andal." Giving a little sigh and brushing silvery white hair over her shoulder. Though a blink and then a look at his clothes and then a look at her own...they were dressed fairly similar, Isle in drab baggy grays overlaid by that bright yellow with purple interior, or vice versa depending on how she was wearing it, being the only hint of elegence to her wardrobe. Though she decided not to say anything on it and only nod with a smile as she stood and took to undoing the belts around her waist, setting them and the junk attached aside and then unstrapping her flute from whre it hung. "You have a might fine idea Galesen."

"Dear, some people can see beyond that surface facade. Just a reminder. Be good when we go, and I'll be good to you later. Maybe some spoiling would do you some good..." Because he hadn't been the most pleasant creature lately now had he? But her attention turned for a moment to Keely who had come back in, dressed up all cute and proper like. She got a nod and then her attention turned to Malik again and she pointed to Malikhai. "He wants to ride by himself again." Much like magic had been on the list of things recently discussed, so was that on the ever growing list of things he was going to be allowed to do by himself. "Care to give it a shot?" That was of convincing the child that he still had to wait, and not get a tantrum out of it.

He was quick to pipe up. "I can do it! I can ride a little one." After all, he knew they weren't normal horses...and well a little elf could ride a little horse couldn't they? He blinked back up at his mother and then looked to his father and then Keely as well. Hm, were those signs they were getting ready to go?

Lharika grinned at Malik as he came upstairs and joined them then returned to her sandwich happily eating. She wasn't willing to pipe up because Malikhai would get mad at her if she did and that wasn't something she was trying to cause.

"How can it not be wrong but wrong at the same time?" Blinking in true confusion, he shook his head. Daddy's explanation helped some and he nodded. "I wanted to help you clean. I thought I was helping." Plopping his hands on his head to push down his hair too because it was always sticking up, he twisted around and met his father's eyes and then his whole face smoothed out still as stone. He didn't say anything just dropped his head to his father's chest. It finally made sense. Daddy had wiped away the confusion and answered the one question he'd always had. Zara didn't give hugs and love because she was a bad parent. Thus she would never give hugs and love and it was silly to keep waiting on it.

He blinked as his son all of a sudden seemed to enter into one of those moods again as he more or less went limp against him. Closing the book and setting it aside, he placed a hand on the child's back, bringing the other one up to pet over his hair. "Hey, what's wrong?" He didn't like it when his boy was all quiet and what not. The nosie and bouncing may get annoying, but it meant he was happy. "I won't get mad at whatever it is."

He snuggled his face into his father's chest, inhaling the scent that was completely him. Pulling back he smiled and shook his head. "Nothing Daddy. I'm glad you're not a bad parent, that would make me really sad." He fiddled with the ever present long braid and then clutched to his father's tunic. He just wanted to stay in his father's lap for a while, cuddle really but wasn't sure how to say it. Instead he laid his head back against his chest and sighed. "You had a bad parent too, didn't you?" He'd already drawn his own conclusions on that. "But you know what Daddy? It's okay, 'cause we got each other now and that makes it all better."

A pat to the boy's back as Sevilin shifted, reclining back some on the evil couch as his son apparently was settling himself down, and that Sevilin had no problem with at all. If the boy wanted to be clingy then he would let him be clingy. Treasured moments really. But a little sigh and a nod. "Yes, I did Zykariel."

Rubbing lightly at the boy's back in soothing gesture to him that he had known since he was an infant. He gave a light lop sided grin. "That's right, it's okay because we do indeed have each other." Treasured moment indeed.

"Yup that blue drow has got a good plan going." that's the only thing Arthur can give credit to Malik, when things do look rough for the stability of his kingdom he figures out a good plan and pulls through like he always does with almost everything else, but those are the times he rarely uses violence to solve the problem. "Really? time passes that fast up there? Wow." There are a lot of things that Arthur could learn from this elf, he's so happy that she came down with Piper's little sister. Though when she got up and started to take off her belts to get to her flute Arthur stood up and said. "Give me a second I'll be right back." And with that he took off to his bedroom. A few minutes went by since Arthur had to dig out his violin from his closet in his bedroom, but he got it out pretty quickly and he arrived back to the living room in record time. Opening the case slowly the elf pause to look over the wooden instrument and smiled, the design was simply amazing and the best part was that the strings didn't look worn out; so being really careful Arthur pulled out his violin and bow and started to tune it properly, this took him a few more minutes but once he got it right he set it on his lap once he sat down and looked at Isle with a small smile. "Ladies first." He said with a chuckle.

"Time is doubled...either Andal time moves fast or Labyrinth time goes slow. I've been told that a human's one year is seven of our own." A little shrug at that before he went off and she still went about getting off what she needed to get and then promptly sitting on the floor. By the time Galesen came back, she was right dressed down, belts and leathers off, her top cape pushed back over her shoulders and her bottom one splayed out around her, her boots and socks off and sitting to the side most pointely to reveal her toes were blue tipped like her fingers were. Oh yes, she was going to get comfortable if she was going to be playing. Comfort helped any song.

Her attention came back to Galesen as he reentered the room and sat down. A smile at him as he proclaimed the gentlemenly rule. A nod before she positioned her hands on her flute and rose it to her lips, closing her eyes before she let her fingers move and notes came to life. A soft slow few notes to start with, opening her eyes to glance at him to make sure he would catch on in accompaniment. See what they could wing here.

A glance at his son, and a shrug.

"I don't see why not. however, since you'll need a little horse, you won't be able to keep up, which means either you stay home, or you'll have to try to get there by yourself. Meilikki is often very, very busy, and they can't wiat for us to go real slow so your horse can stay with us."

back to finishing off his drink.

King Jiscal was leaning over the open table, where he was investigating the property that recently came under rather inhospitable conditions, when a certain blond elf entered his office. "Normally, Cedric, You do not take your time walking up the stairs. Still sore from your explosive exploit."

The elf shrugged. "Your Highness," Cedric bowed, "Is most gracious for his concern, but my injuries are superficial."

"They are not superficial if they might result in your death. Open wounds can be infected rather easily in the Dark, and infections spread like Wildstorms."

"I will be fine, sire." Cedric bowed again, "I have come to you out of great concern for the near future."

"When has anyone ever visited me without wanting something, Cedric?" Jiscal replied. He lifted his aged head, as he was now drawing near thirty and looked much more mature and 'kingly' than he had when he assumed the thrown. His face was marked by several scars, the result of a close encounter with a certain murderous fiend. His eyes were not as naive as they were five years prior, nor did his composure show any fear or timidness. "What do the Elves of Honoursfield want from me now? Food, supplies, soldiers?"

Cedric looked at the table, and scaned the map. He would not have been allowed into the room, if this map was any great secret. "We have a problem that requires intensive and sensitive care."

"I have many problems such as that. For instance, what am I to do with the influx of Purian refugees. I was hopping to attrack the strong and able men to my city, but now I find that the streets I have desinated for them have become hospitals for the sick and old. I fear that I may have been to generous to the Purians in recent times."

"They know that they cannot handle many 'victories' such as at the Orcfell Pass." Cedric replied. "I do not wish to watch them die, as my people did five hundred years ago. I do not wish to allow war to befall them as it befell my kin."

"I have heard about your past, Cedric. I know much about the war, and how your people fared. Frankly, I cannot believe a word of what I was told."

"Many of the most sincere truths lay in the most unlikely of explinations." Cedric retorted with a lowly slur, marking his words as foolish but humble.

"You seem to have travelled far today. I smell both the odor of scented flowers and decayed flesh. You have been to both theROacle and Lord D'vinn today, within hours of your visit to me."

"Ever the astute student of your former master, Your Highness." Cedric's voice narrowly escaped threatening.

"Aye, he may have been a terror, but he was fairly intelligent. You could say that I took what I wanted from him, and discarded the rest." Jiscal lured with an attempt at doublespeak.

"I am sure he would enjoy to hear you say that." Cedric replied, capping some of his internal rage.

"Your distrust of me increased since we last talked?" Jiscal asked after a brief pause.

"I am sure you would understand, if you were in my position."

"What position is that, Cedric?" Jiscal replied.

"One of a delicate nature." Cedric answered without divolving any more information. "Can I borrow Gil?"

"No." Jiscal said without hesitating to think about it. "I will not allow you to take my esteemed Praetorian Prefect." The king smiled, "You can take my wife if you need muscle."

"I do not need sorcery." Cedric narrowed his eyes. Why would Jiscal be willing to part with the only professional wizard in his service over a seemingly useless halfling paladin... "I have many wizards and sorceror for which to call favours back upon." The elf sighed, "But I do not know of any other Paladins within the realm."

"My master certainly did a number to the kingdom." Jiscal replied.

"I never heard of any orders of Paladins ever claiming this area as home or their property."

"Dragon Knights. We have Dragon Riders," Jiscal mused, "They are a type of paladin."

"Not in the religious sense." More accurately, divine spellcaster lot.

"I see." Jiscal replied. "I am sorry that I am unable to assist you at this time. For, Sir Gil-Hadriel Thefhand is helping to house and treat the many aged and ill Purians seeking refuge in my walls."

"I cannot deny your charges from the best care that you can provide." Cedric bowed. "I will not trouble you with this in the future." He bowed a second time, and back treaded towards the door.

"I did not dismiss you yet." Jiscal said, noting the slow retreat.

"Do you have business with me?"

"But one question: Do you still think that I am guilty of arranging the attack on the Purians?"

"Yes." Replied Cedric. He bowed and exited the room with a wave of the king's hand. The elf walked down the halls, and passed the main entry way where the two bulvine warriors under Jiscal's command stood their towering guard.

"How did yee fare, little fairy?" Axe, the one on the right asked.

"Not well." Cedric replied.

"That is good." The other, Vine, replied.

Cedric bowed, and exited the castle, and returned to where he was going to meet with Elric. "I think we must draw our attention into the greater picture."

"Troubling news." Elric said, "We have too few heroes and too many foes."

"It could be worse." The elf sighed.

"That is not too far off. I forsee my death in the near future. Mine, Warhammer's and Aven's."

"I do not like the sound of that." Cedric suddenly smirked. "Aven needs to keep tilling the fields so we can grow a new crop 'shrums."

"Ha ha, You know you'd miss me." Elric smirked too.

"Yeah."

A blink at his father before he tilted his head in thought as he sat there in his chair. Hm...well that was a predicament now wasn't it? And he certinally didn't want to stay home or find a way by himself...the Underdark was a big place and he didn't want to get lost in it after all?

So he sighed and rested his hands flat on the table as he had seen his father do a time or two before in that serious rather business like gesture. Yes we just loved to emulate daddy. "Well then...I guess I just have to ride with you." A litte nod to punctuate that.

Wow, that was impressive...what had he been thinking about that for a time or something now? Okay he got points for the quick deterrent and reasonable explaination. He was good about those after all. Though she stifled a laugh as their son went about mimicking Malik's business gestures and made his decision. "Good choice, go get your cloak." Watching Malikhai drop down and toddle off before turning a look to Lharika. "You too. You can ride with me, less things we take the better."

When Arthur finished tuning his violin he had it set in his lap so he could watch Isle play, but before he started he noticed how she set herself up, anything that was a belt or made out of leather was off, capes were rearranged so they wouldn't get in her way, and her boots and socks were off to show her toes which were blue like her fingers and ears. "Cute toes." He commented with a smile as he sat on the edge of his seat. Though when Isle started to play he got the hint that she wanted him to play along, so setting the violin the way he was taught Arthur took a deep breath and started to play, his bow moving over the strings as his fingers danced on the neck so he could bring out some soft notes which was followed by a leading note that Isle can pick up on it, all the while he watched her with a small smile on his face, playing their instruments together was going to be fun.

A look at her toe, wiggling them some. She had never really thought about it, but people said that a lot. However she merely concentrated on what she was doing, closing her eyes once more and then picking up on his own not, and taking to following it with a melody of her own. Well let's see how he could wing an elvish melody with nothing but human training. But she was going to be merciful and keep it slow for now, an almost etheral melody being played for him to weave in to and get some skills.
PostPosted: Fri Nov 17, 2006 3:57 pm

Arthur watched silently as Isle sat there, flute ready for when he finished playing, though he felt like he was being tested, after all she had elven training when it came to music and he only had human training, this would be different indeed. So Arthur stood up slowly, so that Isle wouldn't notice and break her concentration, because he felt better playing while on his feet, it allowed him to sway with the music once he got into it; though as he listened to Isle he was still amazed by the melody she created, it was beautiful and it was just the beginning. But quietly he waited until he found the right spot to jump in, closing his eyes he took another breath and started to play, allowing his own notes to flow with Isle's, a soft melody coming from both their instruments and as they played Arthur's body began to move slowly as if his body was hypnotize by the music.

She was used to notes from a violin, after all her own father preferred one and they had oftened accompanied each other on various pieces. It was always a nice little bonding ritual, now wasn't it? But she reminded herself that the object of this exercise wasn't to torment Galesen with a fast paced neck breaking piece. Hm, he should have an elvish violin for that elvish touch of his, notes would be more pure seeing as apparently this human one required a bit more push and pull at a harder pressure to get something out of it. Of course that was her elven perception without having touched the thing yet.

But now was not the time to dwell either, now was time to merely get lost in the music. Though she mindful of the temperature change in the air slightly and then merely controlled it and made it return to normal. No need for magic in our melodies this evening. But all of that aside, she merely kept on in her tune...a human would call it perhaps meloncholy, when in actuality it was a rather serene piece that spoke of distant places and fond memories, treasured moments gone but not forgotten, speaking of life not of death. Sadly though a human could only hear the sadness, where as an elf could hear the entire spectrum.
