Luana leaned the staff against a chair and folded her arms. "It's my father's fault in the first place."

*Tavin stepped in from the library and looked up to see the occupants. Wordlessly, he went back to reading his book, and simply leaned back against the "wall" adjoining the entrance to the hallway back to the library*

:::Cora raised an eyebrow. She thought logically:::
Then why do you think you've got the right to seek revenge on his asailents... if you think they were justified?
:::But another question remained:::
What did your father do that even his own daughter seems to think he had it coming?

*Tavin looked up, suddenly very interested in where this conversation was going*
What indeed could a father do to make his child think that way? He knew the answer to that question far too well

"It's what my father didn't do. He didn't tell us about all the enemies he had made when he was the one running around in spandex. He didn't protect us when they came for their revenge... But I can't take it out on him."
She hopped off the chair.
"I don't do this to continue on for him. I do this for the people I want to protect, and I do this for Andrew."

*The answer cut Tavin deep. He hesitated for a moment, and opened his mouth to say something..... but then looked back down at his book*

:::Cora followed Luana, and cut her off to face her:::
So what about the people you want to protect... I don't think your father wanted you or your friends to be in danger, but here you are. Being the same renegade he was. Now his enemies are YOUR enemies. You think you're making your loved ones safer by fighting.
Wasn't it his fighting that put you here in the first place. You need to look beyond your own reveng if you ever want to escape any of this.
:::Cora stopped there for a moment, not sure what else to say to convince Luana. But then lost from her thoughts, her right arm reached out and grabbed Luana's wrist, the one holding the flash weapon. It held on, tight...tighter than a normal human could:::
This is what revenge makes of people. I wanted to fight too... and now look at me.

Luana had meant to respond, but the pain in her wrist made her squeak, "Ack, Cora! Let go!"

:::The arm released Luana's wrist, and Cora retracted it, morosly:::
:::She flipped the arm, wrist facing up so Luana could see, and used the forefinger of her other hand to run a line down it in a particular pattern. Every part of it came open to reveal highly polished metal all gearing and blinking in the highest precision:::
This arm is a result of my revenge on the rebels for my mother's death... Like my revenge, it tends to control me.

:::Cora looked up with surprise when she heard Luana call the Captain's name:::
:::She pressed and other part of her arm, and the arm folded back into place to appear as normal once again:::
Captain...

*Tavin stood there for a moment, completely unguarded, his face an open expression of pain and sorrow. It was only for a moment, though. He grinned and waved*
Hello there, ladies. Fancy meeting you two here.
