"This?" She lowered the head of the stuff to something closer to eye level. "I don't really have a name for it yet. Right now we just call it the flash flower." She began to get excited about talking about her new toy. "Would you like to see?"

"I'll show you!" Luana stood next to Cora and allowed her to help her old it. "See the bud at the end? Well, there are some buttons here that make it open and close, and there's a bulb inside."
She pointed out the buttons, which slid in and out of view, and pushed one of them a couple of times to make the "bud" open, close, and reopen.
"The bulb inside is used to blind opponants, and the stem itself can be used as a weapon."

Oooh... a weapon.
:::She suddenly felt more familiar. She looked the contraption up and down:::
I was made very used to flash weaponry. The force made us train under flash conditions because the rebels found it to be an effect force against the police squads, since it's a difficult thing to build a tolerance to.

We phased out flash weapons ourselves, since blinding an apponent does not render them incapacitated, and it normally caused rebels to act more irratically than it did to control them.

She closed the bud and turned it back on its end.

Luana let out a little laugh.

Really..? What kind of people is it that you and your friends seek out?
:::A sudden wave of a sort of maudlin mixture of happiness and sadness filled her mind. She used to be so curious about this relic time of heroes. Her family name was only ever notorious for hunting the truth behind a legendary hero, which she only recently came to except as a myth. Cora was only greatful that she'd never have to tell her family that he wasn't ever real...
Still, there Luana stood, telling her that she herlself belonged to a troop of heroes. There had to have been some sort of truth behind the stories:::

Maniacs bent on either ruling the world or destorying it, people who somehow became monsters through science or deals with the devil... Your usual supervillians for the most part. Personally though," she took a seat at the bar. "I'm after the ones who sabotaged our last flier and nearly killed my best friend."

Sam looks after us, and Penny is just crazy enough to follow me. It's starting to become our life." Luana twirled the staff in place. "Comic books make it look so easy."

Revenge is NOT a good reason to go and get yourself hurt, or killed... you said yourself the weapons involved are lethal.

It sounds like revenge is was started this problem in the first place. :::She let go of the staff::: And it sounds like something your father should take up with the official law enforcement. :::She thought of her own father:::
I don't think your father would want you risking your own safety for this kind of cause either.
