Tristen would make it to the math class though seemingly with a bit of time to spare in spite of the detours he ended up having to make. Once he made his way to a desk near by Nemona and Penny, he started to manage to hear the tail end of the conversation which Tristen couldn’t help but to sigh, albeit bemused. His adoptive father was definitely going to have a hard time if Nemona ever manages to track him down. “Eheh, hey, I’m doing okay.” He said, taking a seat at a desk. “Kind of been having a busy morning, but nothing bad at all. Managed to get done with some of the homework for Mr. Salvatore’s class last night as well as got the report that Ms. Raifort assigned us so, I think I’m good and ready today. What about you two?” he asked Penny and Nemona.

"That's good, that you're finally get caught up on all you missed. I bet it was a lot of work." Penny commented in response to Tristen. "I haven't been too busy with my own school work, though I admit I've been spending a lot of time on my side projects. Started getting into Rotophone app design, hoping I could get Mr. Jacq to look at my latest one."

"I'm sure you overheard but I scored my third badge yesterday! I gotta say, the Victory Road challenge is much easier this time around. I wonder what happened." Nemona replied.

"...what happened is you got freakishly strong, that's what happened you Pokemon battling abomination." Penny shot back. Nemona only stuck her tongue out in response.

Before much else could be said the bell would ring, Ms. Tyme walking in as it did and shutting the door behind her. Once inside and behind her desk she address the class with a good morning, as pleasant of a woman as ever. They would then immediately get into today's work which for once was one hundred percent math based, no Pokemon aspect to it. Today they would work on Algebra, that is variables, particularly variables in fractions. It was going to be one of those days filled with plenty of worksheets. But yeah, at least it was a basic class for once.

-----

Several explanations from Ms. Tyme, several example problems on the board, and a couple of worksheets later an hour would pass and class would wrap up with Ms. Tyme would give everyone a small worksheet as homework on their way out of the room, more variables. With that class was over and it was time to move onto the next one.

"Tristen!" A voice would call out to the boy in the hallway and when he turned around he would see Nemona running up to him. Oh boy. "Who do you have next?" She asked the boy. No battle inquiries? That was new.

Tristen couldn’t get too in depth with any sort of conversation between the three of them. Apparently Tristen didn’t have the kind of time he thought he did; having to use more time making those detours and whatnot than originally thought. Ms. Tyme would make her way in and after introductions, it looked to be a worksheet kind of day. Tristen would end up having to look over the worksheet and it looked relatively simple enough. He would chip away at the worksheet, one problem after the next, trying to remember everything that he was taught up to this point; from having to remember order of operations to communitive and distributive properties of multiplication and division. The problems weren’t hard, really, just time consuming the more he went on. Ms. Tyme made it a point to make sure that everyone was on the same page; if nothing else see if there was anyone that was trailing. While Tristen probably wasn’t perfect all the way through, he was pretty confident that he showed pretty good competency of the material.

Between the worksheets and the couple of lectures, the class would be assigned homework once more. Finally, the bell would ring, concluding the class. Tristen would stash his assignment and his other materials then start making his way off for his next class. Or so he thought. Tristen stared in confusion as Nemona ended up stopping him in the hall. “Uh…next? I was on the way to Mr. Salvatore’s…” Tristen told Nemona. “…I got Language next. Something up?” Tristen asked.

"No, no, nothing up. I got history next which is in that direction so I thought I could walk with you. That is if you don't mind." Nemona explained. Whether or not Tristen was okay with the girl would walk alongside him as they made their way down the hallway, both headed to their next class for the day, weaving through the crowds with Nemona never straying far from Tristen.

About a third of the way to their general destination Nemona would speak up some more, looking towards the bird as she spoke. "So have you heard from your dad lately? He was busy doing the Victory Road challenge as well, right? I know my memory is pretty bad but not when it involves anything Pokemon battling related." The girl chuckled. There it was, her purpose for speaking to Tristen in the first place.

Tristen didn’t mind the company on the way to Mr. Salvatore’s class, not really wanting to say ‘no’ to Nemona. Though she was quick to start on what she was wanting to talk about. “My dad? Uh, I talked with him a couple of days ago when I needed to ask him something. He was somewhere in the northern parts of the region on the way to his next badge. When he got back started back on Sunday, he decided to start from…what was that place he said? Medali? He said he knew of a gym being there, but he was trying to go with what was recommended to go around so he was supposed to be making his way to Cascarrafa? When I called him the other day, I’d imagine that he would have challenged the gym and won by now and should be on the way back to Medali, if he hasn’t already by now.” Tristen said. “He’s been trying to take the time trying to train his team and explore the region while he was at it. Why?”

"Cascarrafa huh? That's the Water gym. What a coincidence too as I was thinking about hitting up that one next. Interesting..." Nemona mused to herself, looking ahead as she walked, no longer paying attention to Tristen. "Oh! No reason why!" She said with a giggle, realizing she didn't answered Tristen's question for a good minute there as she became lost in her own thoughts. Once she was thinking straight again and not lost in whatever thoughts she was having she turned her attention back to Tristen. "Well, I better run off to class! See you later, Tristen!" Nemona said with a cheer before running off. What was that about?

Oh well, it was time to get to language class.

-----

Tristen would arrive at language class earlier than he did math though whether he wanted to or not was about to be debatable as he walked in with the class a third full and Matteo and Gloria arguing with the teacher nowhere to be seen. Oh boy what was this about?

"I told you to shut up!" Matteo yelled at Gloria, the girl cockily stroking her pig, acting as if Matteo's shouting wasn't bothering her.

"What? Don't like the truth? You shouldn't be in school if you don't like facts." She shot back with a scoff.

The rest of the students were just sitting back and watching.

Tristen couldn’t help but to headtilt at Nemona, his face slowly going more and more deadpan when it started to occur to the Manectric hybrid what she was angling about. She was really itching to take him on and it wasn’t going to be to anyone’s benefit. “Uh…Nemona, you aren’t-“ Tristen tried to speak up as she was in the process of fantasizing or plotting or whatever it was she was doing right there, only for her to finally say her goodbyes for her next class. Tristen couldn’t help but to sweatdrop as she left. He couldn’t help but to shake his head as he continued on to Mr. Salvatore’s class.

Tristen would make his way to his next class’s door only to overhear some sort of commotion going on. Once he looked inside, Tristen couldn’t help but to sigh out. He looked up and down the halls, wondering if there was any sort of teacher close by and as far as what he could tell, no, there wasn’t. So much for a pleasant morning. He would make his way deeper into the class room, trying to withhold his irritation until he actually knew what was going on. “Matteo.” He said, figuring he was going to need to put a stop to this while the getting was good. “What’s going on?”

Matteo would whip around as he heard Tristen, his expression still angry however softened slightly once he realized it was Tristen standing in front of him. While not angry at him he still yelled a bit when addressing the Manetric hybrid, simply because emotions were still high. "Her! She is what's going on! Her mouth runs too much!" He shouted, pointing an accusing finger at Gloria who smirked in response.

"He's just mad because I found out he didn't-" Gloria began to say only for Matteo to cut her off.

"I said shut up!" He barked at her, embers flickering from his nostrils, the other classmates taking a step back. Gloria however didn't flinch, whether by bravery or stupidity she stood firm and stared at Matteo in his eyes as she stroked her shaking Lechonk.

"He didn't get into Blueberry." She said monotonously, her smile fading as she continued to stare at Matteo, as if daring him to do something.

Matteo went silent for a second or two, anger swelling as the general area around him got warmer, no doubt a build up for things to come as embers kept flickering from his nostrils. This wasn't good, he needed to calm down before he incinerated Gloria. Where was the teacher?

Tristen stared in confusion, still missing a great deal of context, but whatever it was, it was apparently something Matteo was a bit passionate about, and Gloria was stoking the flames. “Matteo, chill. Want to be better? Start by not giving someone like her the time of day. She’s not worth it, let alone much of anything at all by what I’ve dealt with so far, but that’s beside the point.” He said. “Let it go, Matteo. You got better things to do.” There was the obvious question of what this Blueberry was, but it’d be something that he’d ask once Matteo calmed down. Tristen was a little annoyed that he was having to break up this fight before things escalated any further, but unfortunately he was the only one who probably could with relative ease and within immediate vicinity. Mr. Salvatore couldn’t come soon enough.

Matteo would glance from Tristen to Gloria and back several times as he considered Tristen's words, the Manetric hybrid no doubt getting to the Growlithe hybrid but his nature, if you wish to call it that, was resisting the sound advice as hard as it could. Eventually nature would lose out as Matteo sharply turned away from Gloria in a huff and stomped to his desk where he would throw himself in his seat so hard that it slid back a ways before Matteo scooted himself back up to his desk. There he would sit and stare directly ahead, taking deep breaths as he tried to calm down.

"How dramatic...hmph." Gloria commented as she watched Matteo, then turned her sight on Tristen and gave him a little smile before she almost skipped back to her desk, recalling her Lechonk once she was sat because in that same moment the teacher walked in.

"Hm? What's everyone standing around for?" Mr. Salvatore asked as he noted all the other students standing at the sides of the room. Quickly they all moved to their desk, the teacher looking around confused as there was definitely some sort of tension in the air. "Did I miss something?" He asked, the bell ringing shortly after. No one would say anything, not unless Tristen did. While he waited a bit longer for an answer he would go to close his door and by the time he got to his desk if no answer was given he would go about starting class.

Tristen couldn’t help but to roll his eyes as Gloria gave her condescending smile towards him, rolling his eyes. If nothing else, she was going to make things difficult in trying to get Matteo on the right path. Unfortunately, Matteo wasn’t doing himself any favors getting baited into whatever machinations that Gloria had. He was going to do something he was going to regret if he didn’t get his temper in check. Mr. Salvatore made his way in finally, which Tristen had to sigh to himself. Better late than never, the Manectric hybrid supposed. He wouldn’t say much of anything right there at the moment but he probably would mention something to the teacher after class. If not before lunch, then perhaps after school altogether and while he was at it maybe catch Mr. Sanguaro while he was at it. He wasn’t going to make a spectacle there in the class right there and then unless Gloria decided to try to brown-nose the teacher. There needed to be a subtlety to it, as Tristen could figure.

Tristen would make his way into his seat, setting his pack down finally, and pulled out his various materials for the class to be. He would also take out the portion of the make up work he said he was going to try to have for Mr. Salvatore, hoping that he at least some competency in the impromptu lessons he asked for during the past couple of days.

"Okay class, we'll be getting back to our Kalosian unit today. Get out your textbooks and turn to page forty-three..." Mr. Salvatore said before turning to the large touch board on the wall and began to bring up pictures of Pokemon items such as status items, Potions, a Technical Machine, and so forth. "We'll be learning the Kalosian names of common trainer items and with them you'll pretend to be a trainer stopping by at the Poke Mart looking to pick up an assortment of items. Don't worry about memorizing or getting the pronunciation correct, you'll be able to use your book. So with that said let's go down the list together. The first one; Awakening or Reveil. Say it with me, class, Reveil."

-----

They would spend the first half of class going over the list of items and their Kalosian names, Mr. Salvatore having the entire class say the words out loud together and occasionally taking questions about the word or other words that were notably absent usually because they were the same word in Kalosian or common, like Pokeball. The ones listed were ones like Full Restore or Guerison. Full Heal or Total Soin. Burn Heal or Anti-Brule. Ice Heal or Antigel. Paralyze Heal or Anti-Para. Technical Machine or Capsule Technique and include number. Repel or Repousse. Poke Doll or Poke Poupee. And Fresh Water or Eau Fraiche. Among others.

It would eventually come time for students to get up and 'order' three items from the Poke Mart salesman, Mr. Salvatore. Gloria would end up being third to go up and made sure to stick her tongue out at Matteo once she was done, causing him to snarl a bit and Mr. Salvatore to give him a glare. Matteo would be sixth and while he tried to do his part while facing the class Gloria was sure to make him by mouthing his words, not helping one bit. Once Matteo was seated Tristen would be called up next.

"Okay, monsieur Tristen, what can I get you? Que puis-je t'offrir?" The teacher asked Tristen, waiting for him to respond in Kalosian, at the very least just list off three items in Kalosian.
PostPosted: Sun May 04, 2025 4:49 pm

Tristen would take out his textbook and start trying to listen intently to the lesson Mr. Salvatore had for the class. It was going to be another tough lesson as far as he could tell, trying to get the various items down that needed to be spoken in Kalosian. Once again, as the lesson went on, he found himself with yet another curve ball, where some of the items were just what they were, albeit with some sort of accent it seemed like. It was as if to ask what actually did he need to worry about in the actual naming or not. Tristen watched and listened in as everyone then would take turns trying to ‘order’ the items from Mr. Salvatore. Tristen rubbed his eyes in disdain when he watched Gloria continue to antagonize Matteo the way she does, and Matteo with the ever present short fuse. While that was something that Matteo needed to work on, Gloria wasn’t going to help matters at all and it made Tristen all the more convinced he needed to bring it up to the teacher if at all possible. First things first though was finally making it through this class…

When Tristen finally got called up for his turn, he would make his way to his desk and took a deep breath, trying to piece everything from this lesson and the work that he has done in the past couple of days together. Here goes something… “Bonjour, puis-je s'il vous plaît obtenir un Guerison, un Capsule Technique Numero cent vingt-cinq, et un Soda Cool?” Tristen would ask the teacher. In his mind, he was trying to ask for a Full Restore, TM 125, and a Soda Pop, but honestly, Tristen wasn’t sure if he even pulled it off like he needed to. Tristen felt a little nervous half-way his ‘request’ to Mr. Salvatore, fearing screwing up there at effectively the zero-hour.

Mr. Salvatore would smile and nod along as Tristen spoke, listening closely to every word he uttered and even mouthing one of the words himself. Once Tristen was done he gave the boy a light polite clap in congratulations. "Bon travail, continue comme ça! Good job, keep it up!" The teacher complimented Tristen. "Please return to your seat, monsieur." He said, gesturing towards the desks on the other side of his own.

Once Tristen was seated another student would be called up to the front and they would do their own 'order'. Not doing as well as Tristen but well enough to satisfy Mr. Salvatore.

Eventually everyone would finish and once they did Mr. Salvatore would use some of the errors the students made, without saying who did what, as examples and provided corrections. He would then explain more terms and phrases that were slightly more advanced like est-ce qu’il y a des soldes? Which meant are there sales? And so forth.

After more of his little seminar the bell would ring and Mr. Salvatore would dismiss the class, no homework this time. With class dismissed Matteo would jump to his feet and almost rush out of the room, wanting to get as far away from Gloria as possible. The girl was more leisure as she slowly got up, turned to Tristen, gave him a little wave, and then casually exited the room.
PostPosted: Mon May 05, 2025 12:37 pm

Tristen would return to his seat, relieved he managed to pull off his ‘order’ to Mr. Salvatore. Apparently the past two days were all a waste after all. He would then start waiting on the other students attempt to make their orders and then after that, listened to Mr. Salvatore’s lecture on some of the mistakes the class together had made, and where there could be improvement. It was all notes that he was taking for certain when he attempted to finish more of his makeup work for this class.

Before Tristen knew it, the class was over and Tristen would get his stuff together, leaving out his assignment that he was going to turn in to Mr. Salvatore. He took notice Matteo making his way out in a massive hurry, which came to no surprise, but then Gloria didn’t escape his notice either, coming off smug as if another job well done in getting under Matteo’s skin. Once he was certain she was gone, never mind Matteo let alone most of the class, Tristen figured this was about as good as time as any to blow the proverbial whistle. Once Tristen managed to pack up his things, leaving out the part of his make-up work, he’d make his way to Mr. Salvatore’s desk with some of his assignment in hand.

“Um, Mr. Salvatore?” Tristen spoke up to the teacher, handing over a few of the papers. “Here’s the part of the make up work like I said I would bring today and thank you for helping me over the past couple of days with it. I’ll try to have the rest to you the next time we have class together. I also think I need to speak up about something Mr. Salvatore…something did happen just before you showed up in class today. I don’t know why, but Gloria has been antagonizing Matteo a lot over the past few days now and this morning is no exception. Apparently, she was making fun of Matteo for not getting into…Blueberry? I don’t know what that is, but apparently it was important to Matteo and not getting part of it was clearly upsetting, and she was only twisting the knife. Still, that wasn’t the only incident. She’s been trying to upset Matteo a lot like that in Mr. Sanguaro’s class as well and I am kinda expecting she might try again in Mr. Jacq’s homeroom class this afternoon.” He explained to the Language teacher. “I’ve been keeping Matteo from trying to do something dumb as payback, which I have managed to do so far, but she isn’t making it easy. I think I needed to bring this up before anything does happen.”

"Hm? Oh, monsieur Tristen! What's that? Thank you very much, you're such a dutiful student." Mr. Salvatore responded as he took the papers from Tristen, setting them aside on his desk, giving them a pat before he turned his attention back to the hybrid as he continued to speak. As he listened to Tristen his smile would fade into a slight frown, taking the matter seriously. "I see." The teacher finally responded, leaning back in his chair a bit in thought. "Thank you very much Tristen for bringing this up to me. You are not just a good student but a good man and friend. Matteo is lucky to have you. Keep doing what you're doing for him, I know he can be a bit of a hot head, no pun intended, but he's certainly changed since you've been around. Don't worry about Gloria anymore, I'll be having a word with Mr. Jacq and this will be taken care of. Now then, run along to lunch, and tell Matteo I said hello for me, okay?" He said with a smile. "Au revoir as they say in Kalos!"
