Shifting her gaze between the two uneasily, Tarma's left hand rested itself on the pommel of her weapon, absently stroking it as though for reasurance that some things still made sense. At the mention of the name Cora, the ebony haired soldier snorted in a most unladylike fashion.
"That lunatic? Oh, she babbled something about time and space...madwoman. She ought to be locked away for her own protection. Is it she that keeps bringing me here? Because let me tell you, I'm none too pleased about being dragged away from my duties..."
There was a spark of temper in her tone when she spoke. Turning to Janani as the winged creature asked for her name, Tarma's shoulder twinged upward jerkily before she offered a minimal inclination of her head, tone curt.
"I am Captain Tarma Falloner, thank you very much. If you know my reputation, you know I don't put up with nonsense. Now, who do I speak to about stopping this rigmarole?"

*Maggie frowns slightly at Tarma's description of Cora* Oh dear .. *she murmers to herself*
Ehm . . Captain Falloner .. *It's strange to be addressing a woman with a military title, but then, Maggie's certainly encountered stranger things here* My name is Margaret Dowling, *she curtsies respectfully* Though must here just call me Maggie.
I realize this place is a great deal te take in . .. but 'tis none of Cora's doing, yer being brought here. Nor anyone else's who comes here. *she presses forward, trying to explain* We all just began appearing, same as ye. 'Tis only that some of us have been coming for quite some time now .. . so we've become a bit more accustomed te it.
[Eep, I've got a phone call I've really got to take. I'll bbasap, but if you don't want to wait, just assume Maggie faded out and go on ahead with things. Sorry!]

Janani looks down to WhiteRose as she shuffles her hands. How was she supposed to answer Tarma...Falloner... Where had she heard that name before... She sighs. She may as well say it; though, she is glad to now recall Maggie's name. Albeit, it was through her own introduction.
Cora's... Cora's one of the nicest people I've met here... She's not insane...and there are many times I wish this...place wouldn't bring me here...
Janani knows Tavin has no control. No. He's too nice to torture her by bringing her here when either nobody's here...or when Kara would be in one of her...moods.

((No worries hun, just jump back in when you get back. 3nodding ))
The soldier raised an eyebrow with an arch look at Janani; interesting that she should show loyalty that way. Tarma might think whatever she liked about the people in this place, but she could respect loyalty, even if it was towards a woman that appeared to be addled. Thus, her tone was less tempermental, and more respectful when she spoke in turn.
"So am I correct in assuming that you are both trying to tell me that no one knows why I am brought here, nor who is behind it?"

((See ya in a bit, Maggie ^_^ ))
Janani, at first, only nods. There were people like Kara whom seemed intent on hurting anybody that did not center her in their lives or who were different from her. That, however, could be attributed to the human condition and how she was raised. Tarma... Tarma has a different quality. She's flustered and annoyed by the Brink because she percieves it as harming her. Perspective is all that really matters to the central core of a being.
Tavin's in charge, in a sense...but he can neither control who comes nor who goes... I'm an Angel, as I stated before, but even I cannot control when this place pulls me to and fro.
Again. She's not lieing, but she's not going to tell Tarma she's a Celestial. Afterall, most humans, especially of her time, don't quite understand the differences between Angels and the 'lower' Celestials. Then Janani thinks about something.
May I ask what changed your...tone?

A little taken aback, Tarma slid her gaze askance at Janani, considering the question from all angles as she rolled the information she'd been given around in her tactile brain. Perhaps there was some grain of truth to what these two said...an odd place was this 'Brink' but perhaps it was not as it seemed. Giving a shrug of her shoulders, Tarma pushed a hand through her dripping hair in frustrated confusion, sending water droplets scattering.
"Loyalty to ones compatriots is an admirable quality."
Looking around at the bar with a puzzled frown, the Captain shook her head, wondering why it was that things could never just be simple. An English woman, an Irish woman, and an Angel all walk into a bar...God help her, it was like a bad joke.

Janani nods
I think so, too!
Standing rapidly, she rushes over to Tarma. It's apparent that there are child-like attributes in Janani's bahavior. She outstreches her hand to the Irish woman, welcoming a handshake.
You can call me Janani... I don't know if I actually introduce myself...
The giant of a woman before Tarma seems more a mix between a child and an adult than anything else. She wears an embarassed smile, now, along with the exhuberant expression.

Tilting her head to the side, she considered the woman's out-stretched hand as though it might be a viper waiting to strike. Slowly she extended her right hand, gripping the other womans forearm in a brief gesture of acceptance before moving back again; it made her nervous to have her sword arm compromised.
"I know your name."
Another nervous flicker of her eyes, and she posed a question.
"Am I to understand that I have no control over whether I come or go here then?"

[Janani is gracious that somebody else seems willing to be nice. Then Tarma poses a question she can't recall an answer to...
Uhm...? I think...I recall something about our...'key' allowing us to leave at our leasure...
Janani looks to be in thought. She looks around the bar and spots the door she'd never been through.
Maybe that is the way out... I don't know... I've never been that way...

Nodding consideringly at the door, Tarma wandered over to pick up her key, tossing it from hand to hand with a frown. The odd man with the injured hand had told her about this method of leaving.
"Yes...I've left by that way before."
Still uncertain of whether she fully believed what she'd been told of this place, or that she wasn't simply going mad, the soldier pulled out a chair and settled herself into it. Looking up at Janani, she motioned for the woman to take a seat.
"So tell me about your experiances here."

Janani gives Tarma a curious look.
Uhm... I'm a little heavy for the chairs in this place most often...
However, not wishing to insult the woman, she does attempt to take a seat. She closes her eyes as she hears the usual creaking under her bulk. However, this seat decides not to crack or buckle,a nd she is thankful for that. Giving a relieved sigh, she looks at Tarma with a smile, ready to answer the next question.
Well... There have been nice people and...some not so nice. Tavin and Cora seem to know the most of this place. I've met humans, fae, and strange creatures... Time means nothing here. Myself, I am from the year 2007 AD.

*Maggie listens to their exchange, nodding periodically in agreement with Janani*
Aye, and I'm from year of our lord fifteen hundred and sixy-eight.

((Back from dinner. And wow Whim, congrats hunny! biggrin ))
Blinking, the military woman shook her head, wondering if she had water in her ears to make her mishear so badly. Tilting her head to attempt to shake the water free, she offered an apologetic nod. "My apologies, I did not hear you correctly...what did you say?"

(('grats Maggie 3nodding ))
Uh...?
Janani tilts her head, questioningly.
About what year I'm from? 2007 AD. I suppose you'd say 'Year of the Lord' just as Maggie. That is what Ano Domino means, afterall.
She means no insult in defining Ano Domino. Afterall, she believes both Maggie and Tarma know this.

[Danke, danke smile ]
*Maggie watches Tarma's expression to gauge her reaction* I know it must seem like madness, or at least some form of dark sorcery . . . but truly, the people here come from all manner of times and places. We dinna know why we've all been drawn here ... although .. .
*a shadow flickers across her face. She frowns and bites her lip, then musters up a smile again* Well, we do all try te make the best of it ...
