"Yes. Very strange." She looked at it a few moments more before turning to Fin. She shrugged. "No one person sees me fore very long."
And because she was almost brutaly honest at times, "Troubled." She did not ask how Fin was.

"Troubled you say?" Fin replied, "Why might that be." He stood up from his relaxed crouch, and walked over to meet Leaf. He was still wearing his dwarven cuirass, and sword. His tattered cloak was in even greater disrepair, and his clothes seemed rather ragged as well. Over all, he appeared a wonder. His dashing elvish qualities mismatched with dwarven armour and nearly destroyed clothes. Not something one would find on the surface world.

"Yes." She watched as he moved, noting his missmatched clothes and the quality there off. She felt she must not look any better, haveing just laid in the dirt as well. The whole Peninsula wore nothing but tattered remanents of their once proud selves...
"I recived a comment today. And now I feel dirty." She didn't usually tell people how she was feeling. It broke her emotionless surface when she didn't want anytihng to go there. But then, no one ever asked.

"A comment made you feel dirty?" Fin continued to smile softly, "Feeling dirty is rather easy out here. Clean water is so scarce we rarely use it for anything other than drinking. It is pretty hard to feel clean when the water you use to bath is rather putrid." He ran an hand through his hair, "It could be worse. We could be monkeys."

"That is too literal." She looked at her ahnds, which were coincedentaly covered in dirt. "It is not the outside that feels this way."
She almost sighed, stopped herself. "I was called a dirty elf." She wasn't certian why such a thing struck her so hard, perhaps because she'd been trying to find a way to proof these words wrong, or perhaps she was deluding herself into thinking she had some purpose in life.
"What are monkeys?"

"Monkeys are what my grandparents called 'humans'. I assume it is a subspieces... Like Drow are to elves." He shrugged. "They smel bad and are covered with corse hair, make lots of rude noises and can't do anything but procreate and eat."
But, returning from that coment, Fin walked closer to Leaf and looked into her eyes, "You look clean to me." He said with a very ernist voice.

Monkeys. She would sit on that little bit of information for a while, and eventuall coem out with something about their society behaving like monkeys because that was all they were doing right now, survivng. Eating and procreating. Well, she'd fine tune it later.
She looked back, uncertain how to react to what she precieved as a compliment. Two contradictory statements about her person and which to beleive she was not sure. Logic said she would rather feel better than worse at this point. She nodded.
But another little thought occured to her. Still lookeing back, "What is clean?"

"Clean is the ability to look at someone, and not feel ashamed of who you are." Fin suggested. "Though, I would not say I am much of an expert on the matter. My education is rather limited and incomplete, but my understanding is such." He closed his eyes and made a friendly guesture.

Picking Up Stars Vice Captain

She mad a face at that story. "I hate it when that happens. Sometimes I'm down in the kitchens helping and I get the gooey stuff all over my hands and then it gets on my dresses and I have to change and it's just icky. But you don't have to worry about this egg, it won't break if you're really careful with it and don't pick it up once we find the perfect spot for it."
"Really good cleaning stuff." He studied the strands of hair in front of him and carefully used the brush to coat the pink strands in the cleaning stuff. They gleamed in the reflection of the light letting him know he'd gotten every spot. Leaning close just ot make sure, he lightly touched one of the white areas that didn't need the solution and looked at his finger. Bringing it up to his face he caught a whiff of the bleach and made a face. "This stuff smells funny Daddy. Is your hair going to smell like that forever?" Let'sjust wipe this on our tunic and go back to painting Daddy's hair.
She was still curled up on the couch, quiet as a mouse as she listened to the giggles and voices coming from the kitchen. What were they doing? Resisting the urge to go look she sighed softly and tapped her fingers against the fabric of her pants.

She looked away. "I see."
She shrugged. "They say an educated man does not commit crime. What they feel to realize is a man who is too educated will sympathize with the man who does commit crime, allow him to continue as he does, thus commiting more crimes. Education can go both ways."
"Understanding is valuable. I count you lucky."

"Then there is us." He said with a dreary note, "Living like dwarves in tunnels that wreak of decayed flesh, and walls which the blood will never wash clean..." He shrugged. "It could be worse... But I am not sure how..."

"I have nothing against dwarves, but I would trade every grain of this dank underworld for five minutes on the surface." Then she would die and not have to deal with going back to the underdark.
"The dwarves can have it." Said in all her emotionless splendor, though she meant no disrspect to the dwarves.

"But don't babies need to be held? If we put the egg down and never pick it up again then it won't get any hugs." He pouted about that a moment and then got another idea. "Could I talk to it? Mommy and daddy talked to me when I was still inside mommy." In fact, a lot of people talked to him as he recalled, but mostly his parents. "What if there's an accident?"
Another chuckle. "Well it's like health...just for floors and such things like this. But no, we'll just rinse where you paint and then it won't smell like that." Though he bit his tongue and tried not to say anything as the boy wiped his finger on his tunic...oh the streak of color that would be lost. He'd have to replace that one now...of course the child would probably think it neat.
But he sighed and slicked his bangs back so wet bleached strands didn't get his in eyes and he took to seperating out another piece for the child. At least it was mostly localized around the front. "Almost done."
These are pants. Is it one of those days again? A pressure on her thigh would announce the prescense of the ferret. He didn't like to be around Sevilin when he had his mock bleach out...meant a lot fo cleaning and his sensitive nose didn't like it. Chitter.

"I want to live on the surface world too, But I would prefer a more permanent solution." Rubbing his hands for a moment, "Do you think we should try something to fix the surface world?"

Well Arthur was one happy elf, whatever was going on with those two...men, yeah he'll call them men for now, was resolved and hopefully they wouldn't have to worry about it again. Sighing softly the elf let go of the handle of his katana and turned back to the others, seeing that Isle was taking care of the whole 'gotta comfort the kids' part when stuff like this finished, though the older elf was a little upset that the tour was over and so the kids decided to head back inside, leaving the adults all alone. Though Arthur had to chuckle at Isle comment, a tiny grin appearing on his face. "That's right, there's a lot of fun things to do while around here..." Now on that point what can they do now? A tiny idea popped up in his head as he looked down at the flute hanging around Isle's waist, well he might as well ask anyway. "I've been wondering since you are staying here in the Underdark for awhile, has Piper and Malik offered you a place to sleep in Twilight? If not I was wondering if you would like to stay at mine..." His voice trailed off as he began to pace a little, his hands placed in his coat pockets. "I got a guest room that hasn't been used in awhile and it would give me the chance to listen to you play your flute, heck maybe I'll play my violin for you too." Stopping in his tracks the elf took a small breath before turning to face Isle fully. "So you up for it?"
