King Bug Just want to point out that my character has a built in safety for situations like these. I added it on purpose because I'm a p***y and I don't want my character to die. Wahhh, wahhh, wahhh, wish I had a white mage to suck mah d**k. Hehehe. Pansy.

Well don't worry guys, I had fun with it, and Tres and I were on the same page so it went quick/smoothly OOC. I appreciate the double KO gesture even though he could have tanked it. The judging format itself will settle everything.
Taking a character like mine into the GTB has been refreshing. He's definitely not "pure human" in the sense people would expect, but he has his limitations. It's nice to just play a more fun/casual character and still do a brawl/beatdown with swords involved.
I don't really think you could do much better than I did, Haelstrom.

Depends I 'spose. Being honest, there's a reason I (didn't, past tense) bust out the full kit on Omi with fights that interested me.
The character at his maximum is a fighter who tries to find the path of least resistance. Straight projectile play, straight melee, straight weapons, even the times I've had him take off his armor were to make me OOC play him in a different way IC.
But if I let him do everything he -can- do and using Tres the ***** terminology, no sell just enough... well, ignore the fire schtick entirely. You have a guy who can produce an infinite number of limbs, basically.
That's really really really powerful all in its own, in tournament play.
So played ideally, my opponent's going to have only brief moments of actual duking it out, and instead going to have long periods of "about got him! About got-" Followed by a faggy "Just as planned." response that obliterates them.
...that's fun ...... sssssometimes.
But I'd much prefer Omi getting arrogant and thinking he can box an Indian, or getting a rage boner at a fox chick, or thinking he can take on an entire team without any armor on by himself.
They're poor tactical decisions, but they're also shortcomings that've let me actually enjoy the encounters. Admittedly in recent times, that's not been the case, but only because I finally solidified his power set in a way that actually feels fun for me to use while preserving counter-play elements for an opponent, instead of "I'm gonna cut you and, if you're unlucky, I'm gonna ******** your organs if I start to lose. gg"
Q.E.D. killing vampires is really boring and easy. You can throw flowers at them and they wig the ******** out.

Right. We're talking about this edition of the GTB though.
I doubt Omi would be able to get in with the ability to control more than 2-3 snakes, and at limited range, while not doing other physically demanding things like fighting with a sword. The power level this year is still around the same... but the allowed abilities are a lot more restricted. Characters are still strong they're just more... focused and refined right now.
Even something as innocuous as creating a wall of stone in my profile was denied.

I'm keeping my bind just the way I like it or totally breaking my character. Of course such an attitude is just asking for getting nothing but 0s and 1s in grading.

That's less actual.. well as you put it, power level or anything similar, and more interpretation of acceptable mechanics.
It'll change next year, like it'll change the year after it, like it'll change in other tournaments. Because what is acceptable or condonable varies.
'Sides, if I could do some gay energy system with a limited number of snakes, it'd actually be more dangerous than what Omi typically does (at the cost of no hypothetical 5 million snake marches.)
Would give me an excuse to completely shy out the internal cooldowns and up the individual snake strength levels instead of "there's many of them, but they're really easy to kill."
Wouldn't be better balanced... but would do the job. lol

-Leo Sanger- Shouldn't the law's of physics be at work here? I'm a smidge confused by my opponent's last move. So he's got the ability to defy the law's of physics, stop quick enough not to overextend a spear thrust he's following through with, and on top of that, dodge the fist coming for his ribcage while swinging his spear?
Aren't spear's an all in thrust for the most part? If not, explain to me what just happened here? I don't mean any offense to my opponent, for he's been doing well so far, but I'm throroughly confused at the mechanics of combat taking place. So either give me a judgement on how the interactions should ensue or an explanation on how to proceed.

Leo As of right now I haven't actually read the fight to see what's exactly going on, but to quickly answer your question, no, spears aren't all in thrusts for the most part. Anyway, did you try talking to him first about it before taking it to the judge thread? The judge thread should be used as a last resort when talks between the two of you break down.
