Damian tilted his head and raised an eyebrow. "Why?" he echoed. He'd never thought to wonder why. He fixed his eyes over her shoulder at the wall for a moment before looking back at her. Mina blushed more when Damian said he liked her. "B-But there are so many prettier and smarter girls... Why me?" she asked, looking to Damian, questioning if this was really happening. If a guy was really, honestly saying they liked her that way.

Damian frowned a little. He didn't get the question. "Why...you?" He leaned back, puzzling over it. He didn't really have an answer. He couldn't just say, "because." Yeah, there were some pretty girls in the school, and he knew there were some intense braniacs. But... He didn't really care. "Because... Because you're you."

Mian didn't get the answer. "Because.. I'm me? I.. I don't understand..." she said halfheartedly. She was starting to lose faith in Damian's attraction to her what that rather vague answer.

Damian ran a hand through his hair, shaking his head. "Because you're not one of those stupid girls who gets all dolled up just to stand on the other side of the room and bat her eyes. Because you don't think you're too smart or too good to talk to anybody else. Because you don't chase after people because they have money, or looks, or status. Because you're you!" he explained.

Mina listened to Damian's explanation. He liked her because she was... plain? The sparrow thought some. "So you like me... for just being normal?" she asked, looking up at the prince, waiting for his answer.

Damian frowned again. "But you're not... I don't think... Ugh!" He ran a hand through his hair. "I don't know what I'm saying. I mean, you're not normal, but you are... You are normal, but not... Not to me... I just... I don't know. You're not like the other girls."

Mina just watched him, smiling a soft, understanding smile. She then blushed and placed a gentle kiss on his cheek. "I think I get it."

Damian smiled back at Mina after she'd kissed his cheek. He was relieved, considering he had no idea what he'd been babbling about. He'd never really liked anyone. He'd thought plenty of girls were attractive, but never nice enough to actually care about. "Thanks."

Mina smiled some, offering him a pillow. "Maybe you should take that nap. Might help you get your thoughts together. That and it's starting to get late."

Damian tilted his head, looking at the pillow for a moment. In another one of his instantaneous actions, he had his head against the pillow, at the head of Mina's bed, and an arm around Mina's waist. The little sparrow was facing him, and their foreheads were pressed together.

Mina blushed as she found herself in Damian's arms. Though she smiled shyly. "W-Will this help you sleep?" she asked.

"Definitely," Damian responded with an exaggerated yawn. He closed his eyes with a smile, holding Mina against him gently.

Mina smiled again and gently stroked Damian's hair, hoping he'd go to sleep soon. It was rather awkward for ehr to be so close to a boy. In her bed. In her pajamas.

As it turned out, Damian really was tired. His breathing slowed a little, but his arms didn't loosen from their comfortable hold on Mina as he started to drift asleep. He just hoped he didn't say anything embarrassing in his sleep.
