"Kid?" she asked incredulously, narrowing her eyes at him. "Just who do you think you are? I'm 22... or was it 23... 22, I think. I can handle a gun." she muttered as she took the shells and loaded the gun, putting the others in the front pocket of her jeans. She sighed a bit, putting down the gun and the vodka bottle long enough to tear the other sleeve of her dark green t-shirt off at the shoulder, leaving her with a tanktop, and ripping it open, using it to tie her rather messy ruby hair back a bit.

He heard the man and reacted, pushing himself away from the storage room and out in the main hall. He snapped out the Blacktail and trained it on him. "Stay there. At the moment, i'm not in a mood to trust a stranger. I really don't think we should go outside. I vote we lock ourselves in here. The Police'll come eventually." He didn't take his eyes off the man for a second. "Valencia, i'm older. You're still a kid to me. Perhaps you should lay off the alcohol if you can't remember how old you are."

"The Police are probably all dead by now." she muttered, looking entirely serious for the first time. She had ignored his last comment and was frowning now, shotgun held gently in the crook of her arm. "I didn't see many bodies outside, mostly only in cars, but there's blood all over the place, and a bunch of people are running around like zombies or something. They're tough, too. Not smart, but resilient. I gave one a really bad beating to the head with the shotgun, but he just kept getting back up. I don't know what to think."

Corey stayed in position for a moment, his knee was beginning to ache. He spun the Blacktail and put it down in the Holster. "Fine. Whatever. I'll follow the girl, wherever she goes. She's got the better weapon, after all." He was entirely unhappy. He didn't want to go out there. Spider things were easy. One bullet, one kill. Men? They were far more difficult..far more resilient.

" I see you'd have never made it in the Mob, like me, what with leaving the decisions up to her and all...sad...always can use more people too...Anyhow, see ya later..hopefully..."

Corey shook his head. "Calm down, Spitfire." Oh man, that reminded him. If only he had a plane. He could totally fly out of here. "Anyway, some men are just biased toward women..don't let it get to you. 'Drink, and be merry' as they say. Anyway, got a plan? Are we leaving, or are we going to stay here? You know what my vote is, but you're the leader of my group, anyway." He shrugged. He kind of wished he'd kept a radio or something around the office..surely some news channel would be broadcasting. Or maybe he could at least listen to some tunes. He'd been stupid, as usual.

Valencia put the shotgun down on the table behind her and drew herself up to her full height, still having to turn her face upward to glare at him, but she obviously wasn't about to back down. "So you're judging me on my height and gender, huh? Give me one reason why I shouldn't break your arm right now." she growled, fists clenched at her sides.

"If you're older, you should probably be calling the shots, as you probably know more," she adressed Corey, but her fierce glare neevr left Jack. "So if you insist on making a decision, my decision is for you to be the leader. How's that, Corey?" she was unable to hide the angry edge in her voice as she continued to look very much like she'd enjoy punching him in the face, or kicking him in the groin.
