"It has nothing to do with your precious temple," she said, semi-irritated at the question. Her voice dropped slightly as she continued, "I just need to get out of this city and to somewhere where no one will find me. That's all I can say right now outside of that if I don't get out of here I'll be dead by sunrise." She prayed he would soften a bit more, even if it was only enough to walk her to the city gates, that's all she needed.

"What are you running from?" he questioned gruffly, turning away and looking in the general direction of the city limits. It wasn't that far until the end of the walled part of the city. The majority of the city was actually outside of the walls, after all, in the farms along the river, etc.
But no one gets so concerned or anxious to get out of the city without having something they need to run from. This one sounded like a rather deadly thing to run from, and he didn't especially feel like getting tangled in something remotely deadly.

Iro looked him in the eye and grinned. "You fear for your own life, don't you?" she questioned, still smirking, "You've never been outside your precious temple so you fear anything even remotely dangerous."

"I value my own life over an presumptuous stranger's," corrected Ryushi in a low growl, bringing his face a few inches closer. "Though what may be dangerous to you is not nearly so with me."
With that, he drew his face away, and turned his back on her, looking towards the temple. "But if you think yourself right, I'll just return to my safety." And with that, he walked.

Iro blinked at the man as he started to walk away. Presumptous? she thought, I most certainly am not presumptous! She stood in semi-shock for a moment, then took after him. When she held out her hand to catch his shoulder, her hood fell back, showing her waist length black hair. "Oh, poo," she said, attempting to both stop him and put her hair back in her hood, "Forgive me, I just dislike people who have an attitude much like my own. Please, I DO need your help."

"If so, why do you dislike me?" he said with the faintest trace of an amused smirk on his face. It went away though. They'd moved out of the area which let him prevent eavesdroppers. Ryushi moved it back with them, and he turned to face her one more time. "You haven't answered my questions yet."

"Your questions..." she sighed, feeling beaten. "I am a murderer," she said quietly, "I killed an old woman in my villiage, and now I need to get out of this city. I had thought I'd gotten away when I came here, but they followed me. They want my head..."

"I don't blame them," he said coldly.
"Though I don't see why you couldn't have at least aimed for a more honourable target," he said with a bit of grim humour around him. He wouldn't give her away, but he certainly was not planning on wanting to fight his way out. That'd reveal he had left the temple without a proper reason, alone, and not quite fully trained.

"It's not the way it sounds!" she pleaded at him desperatly, grabbing his hand again, "she deserved to die, she NEEDED to die, or the rest of us would have died. Though, no one back home beleived that last part..."

"What makes you so sure of yourself?" he challenged, turning around. He pulled his hand away from his, yanking it up to his shoulder. During this motion, several necklaces shook partially free of his garments, not yet revealing what hung from them.

"That's an odd way of helping an old lady," he said scaldingly. He looked at her, turning away from him for a few moments, before turning back towards the gates. "Ten seconds, explain yourself." When you're in his position, you don't have to supply complete sentences.

"I was supposed to help her in her plan. It had something to do about a mana well. And in the long run all it would amount to was the destruction of our villiage. Not that she cared..." Iro looked back up at the boy, and let her eyes linger on the chains comming out of his robes.

Ryushi pushed necklaces, made of both rope and metal, back beneath the safety of his cloth, muttering, "Crazy old lady."
He walked away. "Well, shall we?"
He extended his sense to look out for anyone with mana in their system. Being on the river source of mana made it easy, since taking the energy into their bodies was an unconscious act- nearly everyone who stayed nearby for a few hours had a noticeable amount, if only barely.
