Milan adjusted the menu enough so Linsey could also look, dark eyes wondering what food she'd be ordering. Nothing here was terribly expensive, not that he'd have minded. His family had money in spades, so lunch wouldn't even make a blip. He commented on the train, which earned a small laugh. She noted that her mom was a prefect, and she'd like to become one too. "I wouldn't know, honestly. I never was chosen as prefect, and this offer of Head Boy came out of nowhere. I'd assumed with my... struggles last year, the professors wouldn't be keen to see me here. I'm still shocked they didn't pick Ron, who was a shoo-in for the spot. But, hey. Maybe they saw potential in me." He paused a moment, trying to steer conversation back in the positives. "Though, I'm sure you'd make a lovely prefect. As upstanding and helpful as you are, they'd be a fool to choose anyone else." The brunette sent over a smile, hoping to convey his sincerity with the gesture.
After counting his luck to be a friend (and possible food recipient?), Linsey sent a smile, though it seemed to need interpretation. Had he said something wrong? She commented on his food requirements, making it seem like somewhat of a culinary challenge. After a sigh, the blonde continued, saying she'd have offered him to come over to her place, though her family would be.... aggressive to make sure he wasn't some kind of creep. Apparently even 'friends from school' got the treatment. "A nice country dinner, eh? That does sound really nice. Most country dinners are something of a farm to table situation, right? Usually we order in, if not go to restaurants. I really only learned to cook because none of my siblings share my diet. I don't eat anything from animals. Vegan is the title, but it just sounds so... preachy? I never really paid much mind. That and I'm highly allergic to peanuts. One of our nannies when we were little didn't believe me, then got fired when mum had to hurry to the hospital to meet the ambulance. We all found it quite hilarious, but apparently it'd been quite serious. And not something I'd care to repeat." He said, a small chuckle leaving him as he remembered when they'd all been seven, squished onto the ambulance while Milan had simply offered a "told you so" with a stuck out tongue.
"Though, for a dinner... I can always offer an alternative? While we're at school, the house elves will let people come and cook their own meals. There's a nice little table there. Or... perhaps over winter break we could meet up at my place? Not a dinner for two, but... no nosey family members, at least." He hummed softly, wondering how his sisters would react. Then again, they all seemed to quite like Linsey... Something about that sunny personality of hers.
And speaking of his sisters, Linsey seemed to deflate at the mention of Yari. Milan let out a heavy sigh, the same thought having been on his mind since the day they lost Angier. "It... it's been hard on us all. I can't say I haven't been a mess too. But, it seems friendship was the way to go... especially those that have the unconditionally loving dogs." He sent over a grin, hoping it helped brighten spirits back up. It seemed to work, and they were quickly on subject of fashion. Apparently Linsey did her own designing, and even wore about some of her clothes. "No way? That's cool! You'll have to point out when you're wearing things you make. And... perhaps I can do the same. Not all of my suits are Wellbelove Original, after all. And as for a dress, we could always do it up in your favorite colors. The teal hues would serve to make your eyes shine." Another grin, though this one a bit softer. He wasn't sure what it was, but something was telling him that Linsey could use the extra grins today.

After watching her cousin's upset following the last game, Ella knew something had to be done. While she tried to set up a meet-up over winter holidays, it was just so busy! And now there was even more stuff to try and schedule, plus including Sebastian's schedule. She had, however, been able to bring home pictures from the Halloween party so she could show off her pretty outfit to her family. Other than that, it had been lots to do. Between church, cooking days, and just trying to have a moment to breathe, there wasn't much time for anything else.
However, she figured up a plan. There was a Hogsmeade weekend just before Gryffindor was set to play their second game. Ella, who had never really had been able to provide more than quiet support, figured she'd call in the expert. Sending a letter home to Linsey, she set up plans to make a meeting. The morning before the school would wander out, she dressed in a warm sweater dress, plus warm tights and small boots. Taking Finn and Sebastian by their hands, the smallest of the three guided the boys into the pub. "Linsey! Oh, and Serghei too. Good. I brought the boys." Ella nodded, finally releasing her hands. She was pulled into a small hug by her brother, then she took the second to hug her big sister.
"Hey Linz! It's been real weird with you all graduated and gone. But it's good to see ya! Even if Ella did kinda surprise us by bringing us...." Seb waved, offering up a bright, if toothy smile. His messy purple hair had little flecks of snow still sparkling as they melted. Ella nodded a bit, her wide brown eyes looking over the two boys. She then turned her chin up, looking up at Linsey since she was the one with the words. "I... I knew she'd be better to talk to than me..." she explained in her normal soft tones.

Linsey hadn’t expected to be back in Hogsmeade so soon after her most recent journey. The last time was to help Aunt Lynn come collect Ella and Finn and the dog, to bring everyone home for the holidays and then head off on one of their epic Christmas shopping expeditions, this year visiting a wonderous Christmas village up in Finland. She wasn’t here today on some nostalgic lark, but for specific reasons, and it was spurred by a letter Ella sent her. Finn and Seb were both badly bummed after the last drubbing they took in their match against Hufflepuff, and now they were facing what amounted to an elimination game against the Slytherin team whose new Captain made Brianna look positively mellow by comparison. Linsey was summoned to see what she might be able to do to help Finn and Seb out.
She knew of the Lions’ woes, of course, having been the architect of at least a couple of their losses over the last few seasons, and that they hadn’t won a match since Skyla was Captain, if she recalled correctly, nor a Cup since the redoubtable Aria was in charge. She coached Finn while she was also running her own squad and offered what consolation she could to Seb after matches. Linsey tried to do what she could to help Finn over the holidays with improving his match play, but it was so crazy busy at the end of the year. Between helping Milan and Vera get all the orders ready before Christmas at the shop, and all the church and family commitments, including a trip up to Belfast to help cut a live performance Christmas album with the Causeway Hares, it was hard fitting anything like Quidditch practice into their schedule.
Sitting in the Three Broomsticks brought back so many good memories, of her ‘date’ with Milan, of her real dates with Serghei, and meeting friends here on Hogsmeade weekends. Now, she was here with Serghei at her side, meeting Ella, Seb and Finn. Linsey was dressed comfortably for the chilly weather, with one of Serghei’s Kestral sweaters over one of her dressy blouses, paired with a warm green wool skirt in Kestrals' tartan and a pair of sensible winter boots. The Ravenclaw alum stood up and she smiled warmly when the door opened, and she saw Ella arrive with the boys in tow. After Ella hugged her big brother, Linsey took her turn to enfold her little sister with a long, loving embrace, letting her know how much she was missed.
Linsey chuckled softly when Seb commented how weird it was for her not to be around, and she replied, “Well, it’s been an adjustment not being here, especially not seeing all of you everyday.” She suspected if she were to return to the halls of the school within a few minutes it would almost be as though she never left. Oddly, it seemed as though her life was calmer now with work, Serghei, church and family on her plate, as opposed to the marathon sprint her last year at Hogwarts was. She turned to give Seb a warm hug as well; he was one of her dear ones. Listening to what Ella said, she added self-deprecatingly, “Well, I don’t claim to be an expert or a professional; that would be Serghei,” as she said this, she leaned her head against Serghei’s shoulder and squeezed his hand for emphasis, before adding, “However, I do know a bit about coaching, and have a vested interest in those involved.”
The white-haired girl gestured towards the table she secured for them, one large enough to accommodate them all, indicating that they should shed their coats, sit and relax. Once they were seated, Linsey gestured for a member of the wait staff to come over to take drink and meal orders in due course. Nodding towards her young cousin, Linsey said, “Finn’s issues I have a grasp of, but who I haven’t heard from is you, Seb. So, where’s your heart and mind at?”

Seb had been planning on going to Hogsmeade with friends, but he'd been a little confused when he was grabbed by Ella, who also had a hold of Finn. Green eyes looked between them, and with as amused smile back toward Alice, he followed along. Eventually, she led them into the Three Broomsticks, where her sister and brother were waiting on them. After doing some greetings, Linsey said it'd been an adjustment not seeing them anymore.
"Change is real hard sometimes. But I do hope that being a grown up is fun for ya too." Sure, the one who struggled most with change was probably him. Linsey always seemed really cool on the surface. Maybe she really was fine? He was pulled into a hug, which he happily reciprocated. Linsey was always really good at hugs. After Ella said Linsey was an expert, she said no, but Serghei was. "You're the best at making people feel better, though." Ella added with a little smile. And Seb had to agree. There were a few people in school that were really good at it, but Linsey had a unique talent for it.
When she spoke about Finn's problems, Linsey seemed to already know... but then she asked him. Seb's expression fell, but he tried to pull his smile back on. "It's... um... well.." What was he supposed to say? He ran a hand through his hair, shuffling a bit. "I... I'm really good in practice, but I just... can't seem to do it when we're playing real games. Mama even came to this one, she got me a new broom and everything, but...." He hesitated, letting out a sigh.
"I really think maybe I shouldn't have even tried out this year."

“Change simply is, Seb. Hard or easy, it simply is. What truly matters is how we adapt or even whether we adapt at all.” was what Linsey said about change, as her eyes took on a dreamy look, and a smile pulled at her lips at Seb’s wish for her to having fun as an adult. “Well, I’m working with a dear friend I made, oddly enough, while playing Quidditch with him. He and his partner were the ones who created Cloak and Coven.” Over the summer, Milan gifted her with a key to the shop, and the ‘apprentice’ tag came off as well. She was up there with Echo and Yari now, as they were also fashion designers in their own right. It was they who showed her the way to follow her dreams. “I get to create things, and, on occasion, I even get to make dreams come true.” At this, she made a nod towards Ella. Above her desk was a picture of Ella in the princess’s dress at the school Halloween party. It gave her encouragement when she got stuck, reminding her she had the talent and wherewithal to make her own magic.
She smiled when Ella told her how good she was at making people feel better, and commented modestly, “Well, I’ve had very good teachers along the way.” When she asked Seb what was in his heart and mind, she caught sight of the despairing look in Finn’s eyes, as she heard the same in Seb’s voice as the mask he’d figuratively worn began to crack. Behind the smile there was so much pain … so much pain. As he told her how he shouldn’t have even tried out for the team, Linsey held out her hand for him to take.
“You honestly don’t believe that do you, Seb?” she asked him in her soft tones. “You love Quidditch; could you really walk away from it? I don’t think you would do that. What would have happened if you hadn’t gone to tryouts? I can’t give you a definitive answer, I’m not a seer, but I do have a pretty good idea. You would be sitting in those stands, watching the others go on without you, wondering ‘what if?’ Trust me, Nic knows what he’s doing, and he wouldn’t have retained your services if he didn’t think you gave him the best chances to win…And, your mom got you a broomstick of your own, that’s so cool, Seb. That tells me so much about her; in fact, it tells me everything; it tells me she believes in you, she has faith in you, so you should have faith in your mom and in yourself .”

When Linsey commented on change, Seb looked a bit confused. He'd always struggled with change, especially big changes. Maybe it was just him that was weird, then. But eventually, he'd get comfortable with changes... eventually. Though, he was glad that Linsey seemed to be having a good time after graduation so far. Ella nodded along, probably because she knew more about Linsey than he did. "Milan and Vera are quite nice." Ella added softly. "It's good that you've got good friends at work! And I'm glad you're happy doing good stuff." Of course, the dreams coming true, he figured, had to do with Ella's fancy princess dress. He'd been the one to take photos of Ella, after all.
Ella grinned up when Linsey said she'd had good teachers to help with her skill at making people feel better. The smallest of the group stepped a bit closer to her sister, who had always been something of a safety to her. Honestly, it made Seb a little jealous of other kids with big families. Not that he'd ever change his own. He had the best mama in the whole world!
When he tried to explain his feelings, Linsey offered a hand. Seb accepted it as she offered some kind words. Did he honestly believe he shouldn't have tried out... yes, most of the time. He loved playing so, so much, but the looks of disappointment, or worse, the pity, from his teammates was hard to bear. Linsey asked if he could really walk away from the sport and Seb shrugged his shoulders a bit. She even said that Nic knew what he was doing... but so had Nare, and he ruined her whole entire time as captain!
She also added that his Mama believed in him, and she wouldn't do that if she didn't have reason. At that, Seb's green eyes dropped to the ground. "I think... she was waiting to see if I would try again. I... I almost didn't. I got to the gates and went to leave, but Alice was there and she told me to try too. But... but I feel like I'm just making things worse for my friends who wanna have fun, but also to win. Even once! But I can't even get that much." He sighed heavily, shaking his head. Though he hadn't been expecting to hear a different voice offer advice.
"Bad games... bad seasons, they come and go. You cannot find a single player out there that hasn't had one, two... more. Even on the professional level, Seekers still have a... luptă...""A struggle," Ella added helpfully. "Da, struggle. I have seen some of the best Seekers, both in România and in the UK circuit have seasons where they simply could not win. Do they give up? Nein."
Seb glanced up at Serghei, who looked quite serious about his words. "They keep practicing, keep working, and eventually, their ill luck breaks. You are still in schule, so the scores... do not matter too much. Play because you want to play, not for any laude." Seb nodded a bit, but he couldn't help the guilt he continued to felt. Arguably, it was worse now that his Mama had spent a bunch of money... and Ella had seemingly gone through all this effort too. She didn't even play! "I keep trying, but I always feel bad that the whole team is like... no one thinks anyone's any good, all because I'm not very good." He knew the team was frequently underestimated. No one on the other teams thought Gryffindor would, or even could win. And it was all on his shoulders!
Linsey Grey-Cavendish Ravenclaw Alumnus │ Eighteen Years Old │ Fashion Designer and Artist │ Single
“Yeah, they are,” Linsey replied with a soft smile, agreeing with Ella’s comment. “They’re good people, and dear friends. They’ve encouraged me all along, and its so cool when we have the chance to work together on something ... Adulting is a lot easier when your work really doesn’t feel like work.” Linsey listened as Seb poured his heart out to her, and she gave his hand a reassuring squeeze as she felt the pain in his tone.
When he mentioned how he felt his mother was ‘waiting to see if he would try again’, Linsey looked at Seb, and said thoughtfully, “I don’t think she sees it that way, Seb. I see your Mom investing in your hopes and dreams, just like Mom and Dad have done for Ella and me…I’m glad Alice was there for you…Well, I know it sounds totally cliché, but winning isn’t everything. It’s nice, the victory party afterwards can get pretty raucous, but that’s not what matters. It’s the team, the lifelong friendships formed , the struggles shared, the tears and the laughter; all of it.”
Finn was trying hard to hide his own feelings of guilt, as he felt like he was letting his friends down, no matter how hard he tried. He and Linsey had a long talk over the holidays, and she had to intercede on his behalf as Aunt Lynn overheard him confessing his misgivings. At one point she claimed he would be disappointing his mother, his family and his House were he to step away and he would bring shame to Godric Gryffindor himself.
As it was, Finn knew were he to walk away, never mind how he could justify his decision to Mom and Dad, but he feared he’d never be able to look his Housemates in the eye ever again. He’d be a deserter. If he tried his best, and Nic either put him on reserves or simply cut him from the squad, it would be different, at least it would be said of him that he did his best, but he didn’t quit. Otherwise, he would feel he was letting the side down. Hearing what Linsey was saying, he echoed with, “We few, we happy few, we band of brothers. For he today that sheds his blood with me, shall be my brother.”
Linsey glanced over towards her cousin, and commented with a slight nod, “'Henry V', Act IV, Scene iii. Quite so,” She leaned her head back and listened to what Serghei was saying, and pointing out, “Consider this, Seb: Brianna recruited Csuri as her Seeker when she was a Vice-Captain. Csuri lost every match she played in her first go around, next year Slytherin won the Cup, and year after that they nearly beat us for the Cup. Sometimes, it just takes a while for things to click.”
Seb then mentioned feeling as though his struggles defined how others viewed the Lions, and Linsey shook her head, and told him, “There, we must disagree, Seb. As a Captain, well, former Captain and Vice-Captain, one of my jobs was game prep. I promise you, at no point did I ever look at a match against the Lions, or any other team, as an automatic win, just because you were Seeker. Anyone who does is a fool.”

Seb watched Ella grin back up at her big sister, so glad that she had someone like Linsey to take care of her. Linsey explained that they were good friends and that work didn't feel like work. "I want a job like that someday. Something that's fun to do. I just... don't know what it'll be!" Of course, when he first started playing quidditch, he'd had dreams of someday doing that for work.... but it was looking less and less possible. Maybe he'd find something else, otherwise he'd just work in a shop like Mum did.
After explaining his thoughts on Mama having waited for him to decide about playing, Linsey gently corrected him. Apparently, she believed that Mama had done what she did because it was Seb's dream. That... sure was something Mama would do. Even back when he was little, she would scrape together every penny and pence to make things special for him when she could. "...but winning isn’t everything," Linsey said. Of course, Seb had heard those words spoken to him before, earning a nod. She said the team mattered, not the winning. "But it's hard to feel like I'm even a worthwhile part of the team sometimes...." His words trailed off a bit as the teen fidgeted with his hands.
The next to speak was Finn, causing Seb to look over at him. He said... something that sounded poetic, but Seb wasn't exactly sure of the source. It sounded pretty cool, though. Thankfully, Either Linsey noticed that Seb was uncertain of the words... or maybe she just liked to explain, and she kindly said it was from something called 'Henry V'. He'd have to ask Alice more about it sometime. She'd probably know what that meant. All he knew about Henry V was that he was a king like 600ish years ago and he was pretty good at war.
Seb let out a soft exhale as Linsey spoke again. This time she mentioned Brianna having recruiting Csuri, and that Csuri hadn't done too good her first season. Of course, the year after, Csuri was unbeatable, which didn't help. "Things have clicked, I think! I'm like... I'm really, really good in practice. But then I try my best in games and I just can't get there. I've gotten close in just about every game, but somehow I just can't catch the snitch." He sighed softly, shaking his head. "I've even practiced against the other Seekers, and last summer, Lewis was super nice and had his cousin, like... a real, pro seeker try to help too. But then the game came up and I just... couldn't do it."
As much as he'd like to say it was unfair, he knew it was most likely just because his opponents were all super good at their jobs. But then he mentioned that he figured that people assumed the whole team wasn't good, to which Linsey had a differing opinion. She said that anyone who didn't take Gryffindor seriously was foolish, which did help Seb feel a little better. "Da, I think honestly that once you do win, and I hope that is soon, your încredere,""Your confidence, Sebastian.""Da, confidence. Your confidence will go up. Once you get a win, you will surge and you will be able to win against all. What is best to do, here, is to believe you have already won. Half of confidence is just... pretending to be confident. If you say you are going to win, then your mind will allow you to shake the walls it has made. This is how I play each of my games. I believe I am going to win, and then I make it happen. You must do the same."
Serghei added, looking a bit... smug? Or was that what confidence looked like? Either way, Seb nodded along. The words from both Linsey and Serghei seemed... good. He just had to add some confidence into his practice now too... or well, pretend confidence. "And the same is for you, Finn. If you believe you will stop the ball, then so shall it go. Practice, yes, but you must also be confident in your abilitate." Serghei looked over at Finn, offering a grin. "I will also make sure to practice against you this summer, da?"

Vikram had planned out the best birthday party for his girlfriend, who he found out recently had never had a birthday party before. He knew she wasn't about big functions, so he only invited a close circle of friends. Only on the list were her best friends Alice and Hesperia, her book club friend Ella, and Sebastian, who wasn't friends with Csuri, but Vikram hoped she'd be, since he was Vikram's best friend. In order to make sure the event was private, Vikram had spoken with the owner of the Three Broomsticks and rented out the entire place for a couple hours, so that they could have the party part alone. Then he'd rented the upstairs room for the night so that Vikram and Csuri could celebrate the fact that they were both legal adults alone. He'd gone through the process of decorating the main area in the foyer with birthday accoutrements. Alice was baking them a cake for the celebration as well and the staff at the pub were supplying them with food and drinks. Vikram had spent a pretty penny on this whole shindig, but he didn't care about the cost. He just wanted his girlfriend to have a good birthday party and actually enjoy herself for once. Vikram checked his watch, then nodded excitedly. He'd placed Hesperia in charge of making sure that Csuri actually came to the party and getting everyone down in time.

Ever since she'd accidentally mentioned to Vikram that she'd never really celebrated her birthday (beyond those horrid excuses for photo-ops her mother had put on), he'd been absolutely determined to not only throw a party, but to ensure she enjoyed it. Csuri had tried multiple times to insist she'd hate any iteration of a "party", but the idiot just kept saying this one would be different. Since when was a party not just lots of people and noise? It sounded about as fun as sticking a fork in a light socket.
And yet, when Hesperia came to collect her and bring her to the party Csuri didn't put up a fuss. She did complain about the weather as they tromped up to Hogsmeade through the bleary late-February cold, but if she didn't complain about little things, there was way more likely to be an explosion later. She was already very stressed that she couldn't just spend the day cooped up in the library. She'd never done anything for her birthday before, and she wasn't sure why Vikram was so in a twist about making this one different. Walking into the Three Broomsticks, Csuri was surprised that it was super decorated.... and super empty? Only she and Hes were here, plus Vikram and the people who worked here....? "What... is happening?" Silver eyes regarded the idiot in charge of this, but instead of a steely-gaze, her eyes betrayed her confusion and curiosity. This was definitely not what she'd been expecting.

When the doors opened and Hesperia led Csuri into the Three Broomsticks, Vikram held his hands out to the sides in a "ta-da" motion. Then he said it, "Ta-da! Your birthday party. We're still missing a couple guests, but here we are." Hesperia grinned and crossed her arms over her chest. She glanced from Vikram over to Csuri, then asked, "Were you expecting the whole school, Csuri?" Vikram had told her who all he'd invited, since she was supposed to be in charge of making sure everyone got there. When she'd found Alice, the girl already had Seb with her and was on her way to get the cake before heading down to the pub. Vikram chuckled at Hesperia's question, then chimed in, "We've got the whole place to ourselves for the next couple hours, then I've got another surprise for you. But this is it." He really hoped that she had some fun and that she'd trust him to throw her birthday parties in the future. After all, Vikram really did love doting on her because while she said she hated it, every time he did it, she had those adorable smiles afterwards.
The door pushed open again and Alice entered, carrying a cake tray in one hand and dragging Seb by the hand with her other. "We're here, we're here!" she declaring, a little out of breath from practically running down to the village. She set the cake tray down on one of the tables and pulled off the topper. It was a chocolate cake frosted with purple frosting and on top, written in green and silver were the words 'Happy Birthday Csuri'. Alice bounced excitedly and said, "It's chocolate cake with a strawberry filling, specifically requested by one Mr Vikram Bhattacharyya." She grinned happily, proud of her cake. Vik smiled and said, "It's looks great Alice. Now we're only missing one more person." He smiled and looped his arms around Csuri's waist, giving her a soft kiss on the lips. "Happy birthday, my love. I hope you enjoy it."

Csuri looked over at Vikram as he did a little hurrah. He said they were missing a couple people, and the tall girl frowned. She definitely didn't want to know how many he thought were a "few". But Hes questioned if she thought to expect the whole school. "I mean, kinda, yea. That's what most people consider to be a party, right?" Of course, she was far from an expert at parties. The only ones she'd ever actually been invited to revolved around wins on the Slytherin team, and of them all, she'd only actually been to one.
Vikram said they had the whole place to themselves, followed by another surprise. "This is it?" she questioned at his words. It seemed suspiciously easy. She wanted to say an 'aha!' when the door opened, but it was Alice and Sebastian. Well. Not the ideal combo, but she was happy to see Alice, at least. She followed Alice to a table, grinning when she saw the cake. It was really cute. The real surprise that it was a chocolate and strawberry cake. "Which one of you told him I like strawberries?" Csuri couldn't help but laugh a bit. She did, very much so. Chocolate covered strawberries could make her heart melt.
Vikram pulled her into a hug and kissed her, and she gave him a little push. Though as she looked away from him, there was a noticeable tinge of pink in her cheeks. The door chimed once more, revealing Ella wrapped in a warm sweater and clutching a few nicely wrapped gifts. "S-sorry. I was finishing wrapping." The smallest of the group hurried over and set three gifts wrapped in sparkly purple paper on the table. "Oh right, I got a gift too. Alice wrapped it, because apparently I'm 'bad at it'," said Moon with finger quotes and a giggle. Csuri looked a bit awkward about the thought. "You guys didn't have to buy me anything." She shrugged her shoulders, though she couldn't help the warm feeling in her heart. Stupid friends being kind and such.

Alice also produced a gift from her purse that was suspiciously book shaped and put it on the pile. The blonde giggled at Csuri's comment about not having to buy her anything, then she said, "It wouldn't be a real birthday party without gifts. Though Vikram expressly said that we weren't allowed to sing the 'Happy Birthday' song to you." The blonde threw a slightly cross look at the party organizer after her comment, which drew a laugh from Hesperia. "I forgot my gift in the bedroom, but I'll just give it to you later." In her rush to make sure everyone was ready for the party and wrangling Csuri to make sure she didn't hide, she'd forgotten the one thing item she was supposed to remember. Vikram grinned as Csuri took in everything. "Yeah, I made sure everyone knew we weren't going to sing for you. I doubt you'd want to hear my scratchy singing voice again." She'd had to deal with that throughout the trip in Germany.
"Alright, well we're all here, let's get this party going," Vikram said, then went over to the music player he'd brought along, kicking on some birthday jams for them. "I'm paying for food and drinks, so go ham and have fun alright? But I get to buy the birthday girl a first round. So, butterbeers! Come on Sur," he said, taking Csuri up to the bar and getting them both a butterbeer to start the celebration. "Sebby, I wanna dance, come with me," Alice said, a wide grin on her face. She dragged Seb over to area that had been cleared for them and tried to figure out how to dance to the music playing. Hesperia, however, was more content to just sit and watch. She'd get something to eat soon, but for now, she was enjoying watching her goofy band of friends just cut loose and party for a bit.

When Alice said it wouldn't be a party without gifts, Csuri wanted to deny the statement. But then she said they weren't allowed to sing to her, which was probably the most important rule, honestly. She didn't like being the center of attention for anything, but people singing at her? Hell no. Hes said she'd forgotten her gift, and Csuri pat her shoulder. "That's fine. I wasn't expecting any." Vikram emphasized that no one wanted to hear him sing, and she nodded in response. "Aw, c'mon! The birthday song is fun!" Seb looked excited, until he noticed the steely glare pointed his way. "Sing to me and I'm going to break my promise with your girlfriend not to punch your teeth out." Had she made such a pact, no. But she was at least 35% sure Alice wouldn't appreciate her boyfriend being unconscious for any length of time... even if he could be healed.
Csuri looked over when Vikram said they were all there, so they should get the party going. Music kicked up, then he said he was paying for all their food and drinks (because of course he was), then that he was buying the first round. "You know, if you're buying all the drinks, technically you're buying all the rounds, yea?" She nudged him, a little smile playing at the corners of her mouth. They went up to the bar, and she glanced over the drinks menu. Maybe she could get a fancy drink with actual alcohol... or maybe two. Who cared? It was her birthday, after all.
She heard Alice ask Seb to dance, and he happily hopped up and danced with her. Oh wow, they were both.... sure trying. Ella went over to sit by Hesperia, who were both here without dates. Csuri wondered vaguely why Kas hadn't been invited, since she could... sometimes tolerate him.... for Hes' sake, anyway. Wait. That was probably why. Also because then Ella would be the odd one out. Hm. Oh well. Grabbing the bottles, Csuri passed them out to everyone, then took a drink from hers. Butterbeer was such an odd flavor, but she did quite enjoy it. At least it would be a memorable night, if nothing else. And hopefully the food would be good, because they'd skipped dinner to come here!

Vikram stuck his tongue out at Csuri when she said if he was paying for all the drinks that he was technically buying all the rounds. He wrapped his arm around her waist and took a drink from his bottle, watching the goobers dance. "You know, we ought to dance too," he said to Csuri, a grin on his face. "Though maybe after a few drinks so we don't look like them." Vikram laughed. Alice didn't care what he said, she was having fun dancing with Seb. Her 'dork dance' was fun and she liked having fun. Vikram turned to the bar and said, "Two red currant rums please." He grinned then said, "The real first drink of the night." When Ella joined her at the table, Hesperia grinned at her and then looked over at Seb and Alice dancing, covering her mouth and giggling. "At least they're having fun." Csuri handed her and Ella a butterbeer each, then Hesperia asked Ella, "Want to order some dinner then split an ice cream sundae?"
