Willow was trying to back up before Korv could get up and tackle him, instead smashing into.... something. The back of his foot bumped into something, causing a.... a shriek?!
He snapped around, eyes widening as he fell over in shock once more. What he saw was a Pumpka, and not just that, but an angry one. It glowered at him, hovering over to the poor boy as he scrambled up and backed away. It not only glared, but it followed, shrieking in frustration at the boy who kicked it.
"U-Uh." Was all he managed to stammer. Oh Nine. Oh Nine. What had he done?!

Tengu's eyes rolled when he spotted something shifting with Des' pail, head snapping to the side. Eh? A familiar? Did Des even like familiars? Leaning closer, he peered into the pail, spotting the mutated Flitterat before looking at his older brother.
"Oh. What are you going to name it?" He murmured, smiling ever so slightly as he looked back down at the familiar and offered his finger for it to examine. He jumped as something hit his pail, briefly glancing over to confirm it was a plushie before giving his attention back to the familiar.
"Ah. Look, it has two sets of wings. Isn't that adorable?" Adorable was one word for it. Most people would question it, but he seemed to find the mutation cute. Standing up straight, Tengu tugged on Des' wrist, wiggling his hand back into his brothers before returning to tugging. They had more games to play!

He laughed as she spun him around, folding his wings against his back firmly as he shook his head, his blush returning. He always looked good? Him? Oh, oh Nine! She was the one who looked amazing 24/7. Rubbing the back of his neck, the hybrid laughed nervously, raising his pail with the other hand.
"Mmm, not really. I haven't been doing much. I was hoping to get a familiar, but I might head back inside in a second." He mused, nodding towards her pail. "What about you? Did you get anything – thank you – nice?" He briefly interrupted himself when someone passed by and tossed a candy into his pail. Well, look at that, more candy!

Ava had seen that disapproving look, and fired back her own. She was approachable! She was the one who brought most of these kids here! She was.... approachable.... right?
"I don't need to be a bear to be approached." She clicked back, examining the wand in her hand. For some reason, even though she was complaining, she still held the damn thing in her hand. Probably because Kirket would pester her after. Yes, she knew the wand was part of the outfit. Yes, she was aware it completed the look.
She sighed lowly as he mentioned games, casting a brief gaze over the crowd. No Maple. Her disappointment washed over her face, quickly masked when she finally turned back to Kirket.
"A game? Alright..... That one." She pointed towards a nearby booth. Whack-the-Pumpka. She needed to get this pent up aggression out. That and they had cute toys. Her daughter would love them. Speaking of toys, someone tossed a plushie into her pail, probably to appease the frightening woman. Unlucky for them, she didn't notice.

Lucky for Kappa, he was given a break in the form of a kind elderly woman. She settled beside him, briefly offering the boy a candy bar, though he declined it. The two sat together, and when it came time for her to leave she paused, reaching down and handing the boy a bracelet. The softest smile flashed across her face before she nodded.
"You're a good boy." She cooed, heading off into the crowd before Kappa could register what just happened.

Tobias was probably about to head home. This sucked. This was the worst. His head buried into his arms as he pulled his legs to his chest, resting on a bench. Watching the little kids with their big siblings hurt. His tail wagged once when someone approached and placed a plush in his pail, but it quickly lowered once the other had left.
This was not fun...

It seemed that finally, Fakir had a break. As he began to wallow in his despair, the Fallen had nestled within a bench. He should go home! People didn't acknowledge his beauty!
The boy just.... couldn't believe this happened!! His girlfriend and boyfriend would comfort him, right? Why even bother trick-or-treating when the main attraction (him) was so disrespected? Oh, woe is him! This was a disgrace! They should cancel the festival!
He was busy wailing mentally when someone, probably a fan, squealed and approached him, throw plushies. Um? What? Okay, he was used to crazy fans, but this? Really? Oh, hey. One fell in his pail. His normal grin returned as he sat up straight, basking in the attention. Yes. Adore him. Good.

Falsetto was not amused. Again, this was not a video game. She could be doing something much more productive, such as beating the Haunted Hallow level in her game. But nooooo, apparently she was supposed to follow Charlotte around. Fine.
She watched Charlotte run about, raising an eyebrow when the girl rushed back to her with a .... plushie?
"Falsetto! Look! I got this for you!" Charlotte squealed, shoving a plushie within Falsetto's hand.
"Ah. Thanks." She pulled a hand from her pocket, taking the plushie and examining it with an eyebrow raise. Hey. It was cute. It'd look nice on her bed, probably. Placing it within her pail, Falsetto returned to her duty of trying to lead the two through the entire festival.
Charlotte squealed when Falsetto accepted her present, skipping off towards another booth. Okay! Time for another round of treats! The next booth she attended was the cutest one so far (in her opinion!). Chocolate bats were hanging from a spinning pillar, and the goal was to use a hook to pull a bat off. It took her five seconds to hook a bat, dropping it into her pail. This was easy! In no time she'd return to Falsetto's dorm with five pails of treats! Of course Falsetto would let her hang out!

Laurel's tiny body practically skidded down toward the park. Was it finally time for Haunted Hallows? It was his favorite holiday and he felt like he'd waited an eternity for it! He tugged at his costume, which was a re-make of the vespercat costume he'd made last year, and paused to look at all the decorations around him. Everything looked just as awesome as last year! All the colors, all the candy, all the costumes! What was he supposed to do first? He looked around, his eyes making a beeline for the table with the free candy buckets, and pranced over.
"Oooh, I like the brown one!" He said, scooping it up, before noticing a lollipop sticking out of it. "Yay! A swirly pop! Those are my favorite!"

Sascha wasn't a fan of big gatherings like this and would have stayed home if he could have, but the big gray eyes of his daughter had tugged him out from his comfort zone. It was just a little trick or treating, right? He could tolerate that, and it could be fun to see what Dahlia thought of the festivities. After all, she was still so little... Hopefully she took to this better than he had when he was her age!
"Hold onto daddy's hand, okay, Dahlia?" He said, smiling as her hand grasped onto his. "This place is pretty big, I don't want you getting lost. It would be very hard for me to find you!"
He lead Dahlia along the path, his shoulders arching every time something particularly spooky passed them by, and grinned when he saw a table offering free candy buckets. He grabbed two and let Dahlia choose which she liked better.
"Oh, look! Mine has a Nezubat plushie in it!" He cheered, digging it out from beneath the candy. "Here, sweetheart, you can have it. Daddy doesn't need plushies anymore."
Dahlia bounced on her heels as her daddy lead her toward the park, her hand firmly grasped in his. She'd heard about Hallowed Haunt from the older freshlings and begged her daddy the entire week leading up to it for help with a costume. Of course, being the little girl she was, she fussed through various characters and ideas before finally settling on something simple and cute. A pair of shiny fabric wings, a floofy tutu, and a pipe cleaner headband were more than enough to tell that she was a fairy, right? She did a little dance when they arrived and let her wings sparkle, before turning up to listen to her daddy.
"I got your hand, daddy! You won't get lost!" She chirped, nodding to herself. "Oooh, look at all the pretty costumes! So sparkly!"
She pointed wildly toward a Junior passing by, who was wearing a very well done unicorn costume, and skipped toward the bucket table. There were so many to choose from, but luckily, daddy knew her favorite colors! A purple bucket was just what she wanted! She beamed up to Sascha and clutched the bucket to her chest, before the plushie was presented to her. However, in her haste to grab the plushie, she dropped her bucket, and gasped as it's contents spilled out onto the ground. Quickly, she bent to pick everything up.
"Oooh, look daddy! Matchy bracelets!" She exclaimed, waving the beaded bracelets about. "You can have the orange one, because I like pink better!"

Having not noticed that Nex was gone, Korv continued to run full-speed for Willow. Naturally, he did not come to a smooth stop and instead crashed right into his best friend. Poor Willow. He latched on withe one of those famous Korv koala-cling hugs and squeed loudly. "WILLOW YOU CAME!" He perked, letting go just as the Pumpka Willow had angered screeched at him again.
Blinking, he took a few moments to adjust to what was happening before he pointed right at it. "SCREAMING PUMPKIN!" He had no idea what a Pumpka was- well... maybe he did, Pherein and Kieran had them... but he hadn't seen a black one before!! Recklessly, he reached out to give it a quick pap, and then grabbed Willow's hand. "Nex I-- oh. He's not here?" He looked around for Nex, confused.... and then spotted him a ways back. "There he is! Come on Willow!!" He immediately began tugging Willow along back to Nex, determined to have their friend group band together.
During this time he didn't even notice the candy and plush that had gotten tossed into his pail by a passerby.
Deskri did not like familiars... He wasn't much of a pet person, too much responsibility, he could barely function on his own after all. "Oh... uh... what would you name it?" He quirked a brow, figuring he'd "trick" Tengu into naming it since he was just going to give it to his brother anyway.
"Yeah... I guess that's cute." He shrugged, then followed Tengu over to the game he wanted to play. After a quick round, he ended up with a slightly melted chocolate bat. Gross.
"No, but dressing up in a cute teddybear costume with fairy wings certainly increases your approachable factor. Also, you look very angry so the costume helps lessen the scariness." He nodded, giggling a bit. It was probably a bit much, but it was important to joke every so often, wasn't it?
"Whack-a-Pumpka? Your aggression is showing through~ But alright, let's do this." He nodded, and started off towards the booth. As he walked, someone stuffed an unwanted turnip into his pail. Gross.
Sequoia grew increasingly curious as she entered the park and quickly found herself amongst the crowds of Nightmares in costume. There were so many well done costumes, as well as the typical hodgepodge made of cardboard, crayons, and duct tape, that it was hard to focus on the actual event behind her. Luckily, the scent of chocolates wafting through the air guided her toward the buckets, and to the first prizes she'd get the evening.
"Hm... Interesting." She muttered, holding the odd ghost from her bucket above her head. "Maybe I could hang it on a shelf? Hm..."
She placed the ghost back in the pail and continue to dig, until her hand touched something soft. What was that? Hopefully there wasn't a living creature being suffocated under all this candy! Her ears pinned back as she ever so gently tugged the fuzzy thing out of the bucket and gasped. It was a plushie, a Nezubat plushie! She'd always wanted one of these! Her eyes grew wide and glanced back and forth, before the plush was clutched to her chest. Yes, yes, fuzzy, warm, and cuddly, just as she thought it would be! Now, if only she could find an entire stand devoted to these adorable things so she could bring another ten thousand of them home with her.
