"Of course." she rolled her eyes, continuing to make her way through the crowd. Every so often she would stop to say hello or ask someone a question before taking off once more. The captain's pace hardly slowed as she moved from group to group, and had she been any normal person, she would have been fairly tired by the time she pulled free on the other side. Coming to a stop on the rim of the crowd, she smirks mischievously. "How's your head?" she asks, having noticed his darting eyes early on. She had wondered how he would fair being surrounded by all these people with their thoughts, but she felt no sympathy; even though she knew there were people probing his mind, at least there was no wall they had to knock down first. The captain wasn't sure if Nemo could tell if his mind was being invaded, many of her people were very good, but she could feel the assaults on her wall already.

Nemo glanced down at his companion, "A few nibblers here and there nothing that I can't redirect. I've blocked out the thoughts of others, to many voices going about as it were. No fear though I have nothing to hide, though if anyone tries too hard I might find some of their hidden gems." It seemed that the bandit was keen to steal more than just valuable objects. He indicated a couple not too far away after a quick search, "Like that guy is actually focused on that young woman rather than the one he is with or that fine fellow over there thinks that his date looks a little bit bigger in that dress than he told her. Better yet, that young woman has a slight attraction to yours truly, but who can blame her. I am tall, dark, and handsome after all." A small chuckle emerged from his chest, "You see I can turn it on and off as I please my dear, if anyone wants to drag out any skeletons in my closet, I'm sure to find the ones in theirs."

Raising her brows in mild curiosity at the bandit's explanation, the captain seemed to grow more amused as each Strider's thoughts were revealed. Instead of becoming angry or jealous at the woman's thoughts, the captain simply raises an eyebrow at her companion. "Really now? I had not noticed." she saw no reason to boost his ego when it didn't need any help, and so downplayed his comments on his appearance. Instead of doubting his comments, she simply smiled and let it slide. "If you say so, my dear." she had simply been checking, knowing that anyone here would jump at the chance to read the mind of their captain's date; it was a rare sight to see the snowy-haired woman with a man who didn't work for her, and no one had seen her hold the hand of someone who was not critically injured or a child. "I was simply checking in on you, but it seems you are still in good enough condition to be conceited." she took a jab at him, though it was nothing new; they were both prideful, and neither seemed ready to let the other forget it.

Nemo continued moving through the crowd with Neciel, "Is someone a little worried? It isn't everyday that you appear at a function with a date. In fact in the years of our time together I don't believe we've ever emerged hand in hand together. This could be a shock to the striders that don't know us." He knew good and well that had he shown up with anyone else Anlu would have immediately descended upon one of them with a number of questions, only irritating the matter more. She was a rather nosey little mouse. Though judging from her words a number of the striders were rather nosey. That was the price one paid when near a group of primarily psychics. Though he didn't have to be a psychic to know that the captain had not managed to get Jon alone yet. That was a pleasant thought in and of itself. Now that he was here he had no intention of allowing that to happen.

"Me? Worried?" she would have laughed, had it been only them. "If I were truly concerned about what they thought, I would not do half the things I already do." she states, sounding more amused than reassuring. If she were worried about what her Striders would say or think, she wouldn't be standing there holding his hand; if she cared what other people thought, she probably wouldn't be holding his hand at all. Neciel had never been one to concern herself with appearances, at least not in her own home. Noting a sudden up in his mood, she looked at him with a raised brow. "Suddenly, you are too happy. Tell me, Nemo, are you plotting something?" while she had no way of knowing for sure, she had very heavy suspicions that whatever had made him so happy was not going to have the same affect on her.

Nemo countered with his own quirked eyebrow, "Plotting? Now? No I am not plotting. I don't have to plot anything, the universe seems to favor me." He had no plots streaming about his head, no thoughts of trickery, or even the slightest bit of lechery at that moment. He certainly wasn't going to explain to her that he was pleased that no attempt on her part had been made to find out about his condition. If he was fortunate she would have forgotten about the whole ordeal, no need to remind the stubborn lady. "I am just happy to finally be along side you once more my dear." It wasn't a lie and he knew that the little bit of flattery within the words would have no affect on the situation but it would have been far too out of character for him to not say anything.

Smirking at his choice of words. the captain simply shrugs. "I believe it is more that the universe disfavors me than it favors you." she responded, yet again passively attacking his pride. She wouldn't have suspected him if he didn't seem so pleased with himself, and while she was still not convinced, she would let the matter drop for now. She would, however, be keeping a very close eye on him throughout the night, for many other reasons that she would try not to bring up. At his next comment however, she let out a quiet and sarcastic laugh. "You would not feel the symptoms of withdrawal, had you actually been on time for once." while he had been attempting to dig himself out, he had really only tunneled his way to another hole. The captain, who was never late, found it slightly irritating that Nemo never felt the need to be punctual; whether he did it on purpose, or he really didn't keep track of time, she wasn't sure.

Nemo stopped and turned so that he was now facing his companion rather than walking beside her. "I was on time. Just in time if you ask me. If I had come any earlier you would have been busy greeting people here and there getting things organized and started, I would have only been in the way." He patted the package in his pocket, "Besides it would have been far more unforgivable for me to show up without a gift, I am practically an uncle to these kids." He took her hand once more in his, it always astounded him how something so small and soft could hold so much power behind it. "Now would you do me the honor of a dance my dear, this time with music that the rest of the world may hear." A quick change of subject was called for before he found himself buried so deep that there was no way out. Besides for him there was more to this than merely walking around and talking to mindless drones here or there. If it weren't for Neciel he wouldn't even want to be there at that moment in time. It was about time that the striders knew about his relationship with their captain, especially since things were going so well for the two of them.

Rolling her eyes at his statement, she knew he was partially right; she had been running around organizing and greeting up until shortly before he had arrived. Ignoring the first statement, she instead chooses to comment on his gift. "I hardly think those girls would have noticed, considering their age." she points out, one eyebrow raised. She doubted Mori and Jon would have noticed either, especially if Nemo had wanted to slip it somewhere they might have forgotten it. At the offer of a dance, she hesitated only a moment, before nodding her assent. "I suppose it is about time to put my musicians to use." however graceful she was, the captain still wasn't the best of dancers, though she hardly felt need to worry; very few people present would have the nerve to comment on her dancing, and none she couldn't throw across a room or two if necessary.
Most present hadn't yet begun to dance, but those who didn't plan to, and had finished gawking, immediately began to move towards the walls when they noticed the stance taken by their captain. Couples began to pair up around them, doing their best not to stare at the captain and the strange man she was with; the music began to pick up, becoming a focus for everyone to hear, instead of simply background music to be heard only by those who wished to hear it.

Despite the haziness around him, Hyacinthe noticed the man's move. He felt even more embarrassed by the thought that he might need the man's help not to fall. What a humiliating moment for the shrine boy. Luckily for him, Hyacinthe did not notice the laugh in Agito's eyes or he would have been mortified. To be honest, he already was.
As straight as he could, he crossed the room, behind the long haired man. For a second he smelled the man's perfume and was surprised by it. He blinked. Then the food table took over the scent and he realized how hungry he was.
As the table was in sight, he almost stumbled upon a dark man. As he looked up to apologize, he froze.
"You..." he said in a whisper, his cold eyes staring at the man in front of him. He did not know if he was happy, relieved or even scared. In any case a strange thrill was coming across his body as he recognized the man who had stolen his fans so long ago. Or maybe he was just about to faint from hunger...

Moving back to Hyacinthe's side when he actually stumbled into someone, he raised an eyebrow in surprise at the way he spoke to the Strider. Glancing back to the man, he recognizes him as one of the bigger tricksters in the group; the captain would often have to scold him for the unnecessary extra actions he took while on a mission, even if he did get the job done right. Agito gives a short nod in greeting to the man before turning his attention back to Hyacinthe. "Do you know Brett?" he asks, using the older man's nickname. Pausing to take in Hyacinthe's expression, the grey-haired man shakes his head. "Even if you do, you need to eat first. You look about ready to faint." he sounded a little more forceful than usual, as if he would drag the captain's guest away from the other Strider and to the food if he had to.
Looking down at the young man who had bumped into him, Brettian flashed a toothy grin. "Now is that what you say to someone you nearly knocked over?" he asks, raising an eyebrow in amusement. His attention was caught, however, but the young man who had followed his target. "You could say we know each other." he winked at Agito before turning his attention back to the man from the shrine. "Pretty Boy is right, though. You should eat something before getting yourself all worked up." he agreed, thrusting his plate covered in food at Hyacinthe. "You can ask questions after. Can't have the captain attacking Pretty Boy and I for not taking proper care of her guest."

Nemo took Neciel into his arms, placing one hand in the small of her back and the other holding her hand gently. He placed an innocent kiss upon the top of her hand before proceeding with the flow of the music. Sweetly and softly he started to lead her. Truth be told it was obvious that the woman was more than used to being the one in control by the way she danced. "Relax my dear and fade into the gentle caress that plays about with your ears. Forget that you are a leader for this instance and instead follow." He firmed his grip on her back slightly. Part of the bandit couldn't help but wonder what people thought though as they saw their captain spinning about with the dark man. True as it was that they had kept their relationship as concealed as two might when it came to those outside of their circle, he had known for some time that there had been rumors concerning the matter but none that he had heard himself. Was this starting more rumors or just proving some? How far did the people think that the two had gone with each other? In all honesty there was only one other person in the room who had a fair insight into the situation. It mattered not though. The two of them knew the truth of their relationship and they were the only ones whose opinions on the subject really mattered.

Allowing herself to be lead through the dance, the captain does her best to restrain herself; it was true, she wasn't a follower, and she was having a bit of a hard time backing down. "You make it sound like such a simple task." she sighed, keeping with the music and his movements. She knew the steps well enough, Agito had made quite sure of that, but she would have a harder time taking control of the situation with Nemo on the other end; he was much larger than the Strider, and not nearly as easy to intimidate. His mind seemed to wander a bit as they spun across the floor, weaving in and out with the other couples dancing. Quite a few people continued to stare, but most seemed to be trying their best not to stare. Had she been more concerned with their thoughts, or unused to being stared at, she might have blushed; but the captain never blushed, not in public anyway, and the thought of such never even crossed her mind. "Your mind is wandering. What is so important that it draws your attention?" she was curious, wondering if the sudden publicity of their relationship bothered him. She highly doubted this, he would have been a fool not to expect this sort of reaction, and it just didn't seem like something that would get under his skin.

"Brett?" repeated Hyacinthe at Agito's question, which was far from being an answer. He turned his gaze towards the tailor without really seeming to see him.
As Brettian teased him about his manners, the shrine boy had to refrain himself from bowing and apologizing. After all he did not owe the man any apologies! He was the one who had paralyzed him and stolen his weapons. Despite hunger, for a second, a flame of anger passed in his icy eyes. A flame which died quickly when Brettian gave him a plate. Hyacinthe blinked. The overall situation would be amusing if he was not feeling humiliated. From all the people present, the one feeding him had to be That man!
He looked away and grunted an annoyed thank you to the dark man.
The manners of the man, his way of calling Agito 'Pretty boy' were getting on his nerves. Maybe he was taking it to personally knowing that some had called him by that nickname before. Who did he believe he was?! Yet he could not resist eating the food on his plate as properly and yet fast as he could.

Noting the other man's expression, and the confused way he repeated his name, the large man grinned once more. "Yes. Brettian Reeve, at your service." he confirmed the name he had been called, moving to lean against the wall only a few feet from the table piled with food. He was rather surprised, actually, that Hyacinthe had taken the food he had offered; perhaps the other man was hungrier than he had thought. He certainly would have had to travel a long way to get to the Dawn Lands, though one could hardly tell from the way he looked now. Crossing his arms across his chest, the dark man was the picture of nonchalance; despite the irritation he could practically see rolling off the man from the shrine, he seemed undisturbed by it. "Since you're here, I assume that you're ready?"
Watching the two interact, Agito turns suspicious eyes on the other Strider. "Brett, what'd you do?" he asks, not quite sure if he should be irritated yet. He had put up with the other Striders' comments about his appearance for years, and so wasn't at all bothered by the less than polite nickname being used to address him. He did, however, notice Hyacinthe's irritation, and the sudden flames in his eyes. What exactly had gone on between these two? And more importantly, how did they know each other in the first place? It seemed that the Strider held far less contempt for Hyacinthe than the captain's guest held for Brett. Something was up, and the grey-haired man wanted to know quite soon whether he needed to go find the captain; a fight breaking out would surely anger her more than being dragged away from her tardy bandit.
