"Hmm. Be sure you do, I am very interested in what that particular word is..." She drew her sword and swore. "I really must fix that nick..." She didn't realize her hair had fallen and her pointed ears were exposed. She heard heavy footsteps behind her and felt her blood run cold. She tightened the grip on her sword hilt and whispered in Nana's mind, "Is he right behind me?"

Smokestar sighed and turned to the intimidating, menacing man and said in a sharp tone, "May I help you?" The man smiled a horrible crooked smile and rasped, "I think I'll help the whole world but getting rid of freaks like you," Smokestar scowled and hissed, "Look who's talking, jackass..." The man turned from calm to furious in half a second, and grabbed Smokestar by the neck and lifted her into the air. Gasping, she tore at the man's flesh with her fingers and kicked him in the groin. The man only winced slightly and loosened his grip enough for her to scramble away. She drew her sword and took an offensive stance. "You are going to have to do much better than that to kill a "freak" like me..."

Smokestar smiled a cat-like grin while licking the sickly sweet blood away from her bruised lip. The man all of the sudden whipped out two huge machetes and smiled a menacing grin at both of the ladies. "Oh, so now I have two freaks to kill...well one machete for each freak..." he said smoothly. Smokestar growled and tightened the grip on her sword.

The man looked at the girls and the tiger. He glared at them all and growled, "I'll deal with you low-lifes later..." And with that he turned on his heel and stomped out the door. Smokestar seethed in anger and shouted to him as he was leaving, "Come back here and fight you coward!"

Smokestar spat and said, "Coward. He's a bloody coward, he is!" She threw her sword into the rough wood of the tavern in frustration. She heard a voice from the bartender saying, "Oi! You better fix that hole you just rudely made!" Smokestar growled, "You're lucky this sword wasn't in your throat, old man..."

Smokestar stretched and said cooly, "Yes I think it is time for us to leave this place..." She withdrew her sword from the floor and rested it on her shoulders. She nodded to Nana and said, "Let's go..."
