Garret still paused for a moment thinking of something once again, not very often does a thought trance him out unless of a great deal of importance. "...? Oh my apologies. I meant my Family." He answered.

Scarlett stared. She considered commanding him point-blank to tell her what he was talking about, but the mental image of her mother's face if she ever found out that her only daughter had done something so incredibly rude stopped her from speaking. She merely watched Garret for a moment, as he was lost to the world in his own mind.

Garret shook his head. He had gone too far with this information and felt a little bit uncomfortable. He looked at her for a moment, "So, why are you here?" he asked politely straighting up his act.

Emerson pulled back with a smirk still playing at the corners of his mouth. He said in a cavalier tone, "I'm terribly sorry for making you nervous, Miss Allers. How rude of me." He looked out the window just in time to see the clouds burst and the rain begin to pour. The thunder ripped through the house, shaking the furniture and the cups on the tables.

A ghost of a smile passed almost imperceptibly over Scarlett's delicate features. "Why am I here?" she repeated ruefully, "I'm here because I'm expected to be here, Mr. Asgard." The words had barely left her mouth when a sudden torrent of rain poured down, drenching them both instantly. Cursing under her breath, she ran for the door. Once inside, she handed Garret his coat. "I'm terribly sorry," she said, as it was soaked just like she was.

Garret followed quickly after her, he took his coat back as it dripped on the floor. "You can be sorry when you control the rain darling" He said jokingly. He looked down only to see his entire outfit completely soaked in water. He shook both hands slightly allowing water to be shaking off little by little, but still leaving his clothes wet. "So, why are you expected to be here?" He asked softly.

Tanya rolled her eyes and looked out the window. She literally jumped when she heard the thunder break the silence. As the rain started to pour, she watched as Scarlett and her companion run back inside the house. Tanya liked the rain. It made her feel safe and secure for some reason, but not on this particular night. There was a sense of uneasiness about, like the thunder storm meant something. Thoughts about the murder that night filled her head and she shivered. She suddenly felt cold and shivered even more, rubbing her arms to keep them slightly warmer.

Scarlett regarded him with barely disguised amazement. She was under the impression that nearly everyone who came from an affluent, social family was expected to attend all the balls. "My family would be mortified if no one came to ensure their reputation remains untarnished," she replied with a note of disdain in her lilting voice.
"I beg your pardon, but I'm soaking wet, so if you'll excuse me please." Holding herself with as much dignity as she could muster given the soggy state of her appearance, she surveyed the room, looking for an alternative place to dry off besides the empty upstairs. Seeing nothing, she sighed and said in a resigned tone, "I guess I'll have to . . . freshen up upstairs. It was very nice speaking with you, Mr. Asgard, I trust we can resume this conversation when I return." With an inscrutable expression, Scarlett turned and walked up the stairs looking much more at ease than she felt.

Garret bowed at her presence politely, "The pleasure was all mine Ms. Scarlett. I do hope we can converse once again in the near future." He said being as dignified as he could be. As she made her way upstairs he proceeded to follow the same routine she just went through. Look around the room for some place to dry off. Seeing as how that was pointless since he didn't have a change in clothes, this wasn't one of his places where he kept an extra set of clothing and he wasn't in any condition to simply "summon someone to get more clothes" since everything was naturally, locked. He shook his hands letting more water fall off of his long sleeves. His clothes dripped to the floor starting to make a slight mess. A random guest walked by looking at him in disgust. His eyes narrowed at her glance and returned the feeling of disgust to her as well. As she left the room he sighed to himself. "I really didn't want to follow her..." He thought to himself as he began to make his way upstairs following Scarlett.

Scarlett ascended the massive staircase and paused to decide what direction looked the most promising. Shivering slightly, she glanced around anxiously as she wandered down a wide hallway. The upstairs was just as grand as the ballroom, but most of lights were extinguished and the dark passageways were eerie at best. Scarlett half-expected to be accosted by the murderer, a thought that both frightened and excited her. Catching a glimpse of a light further down the hallway, she quickened her pace, eager to dry off.

Garret made his way up the massive staircase, finding himself staring down two hallways. Still dripping everywhere he didn't pay much attention to the fact of how dark it was becoming down each hallway. He noticed a very less then dim light down one of the hallways. This too him looked promising. Maybe he could find a change in clothes, or at least find a room to allow him to dry off. He unknowingly followed Scarlett towards the dim light.

Seeing Tanya shivering, Emerson put his arm around her. "Now, then, is that better?" Then he caught sight of Scarlett and the mysterious man going up the stairs. Curiosity getting the better of him, he turned to Tanya and said, "What do you say we follow them?" He had a gleam of adventure in his eyes.[

Tanya glanced swiftly at Emerson's arm around her, not really sure what to make of it. It did not really help warm her but it did feel very comforting. Tanya swiftly looked up and grinned at Emerson. Finally, she thought. Something to do. She nodded once, still grinning.

Emerson grinned back, elated at the prospect of doing more than sitting around. He enjoyed Tanya's company, but he could tell that she was bored and that he would probably enjoy her company more if they had some kind of entertainment. Getting up from the table, Emerson and Tanya headed up the stairs in pursuit of Scarlett and mystery guy.

Tanya led the way climbing carefully, but quickly, up the stairs with Emerson right behind her. She paused and Emerson bumped into her. There were two hallways. She squinted through the darkness of the two hallways and noticed a dim light at the end. The darkness frightened her. Tanya reached behind her and took hold of Emerson's hand before proceeding towards the light.
