Alma's glare calmed. Her mouth twisted into a sly smile.

Alma left Scarlet to her thoughts, and went quietly back to her book. Her snake came along, keeping it's eyes on Scarlet.

Scarlet was less adapt to watching the snake, but sank back into the sofa for a few minutes. She was unsure whether is was going to be neccessary to put that plan to use. The snake however kept watching Scarlet as if she was about to perform some highly illegal spell.

Abby rolled her eyes obviously annoyed at being told to shut up. She wasn't afraid of Alma. Students like her always annoyed her. They always seemed to have something stuck up their a**. However, she rose with the bag of jellybeans in her hand. "Come on Scarlet." she said taking her hand and leading her up stairs making sure that ugly snake wasn't following. "I have more stuff upstairs anyway and we can start to plan for vacations. Have you ever been to the muggle world?" she asked popping another jellybean into her mouth. Almost immediatly she spat it out gagging and coughing. "Vomit! I got vomit" she shuddered in disgust. As soon as they were safely in the room, she closed the door.

"Once in a brief while yes. I haven't been since I started school here though." Scarlet remarked, "Which would make it six, maybe almost 7 years?"

"Wow...it's been a while then" she said reaching under her pillow for more candy. "Our Muggle neighbors think we're in a private religious school. They're such idiots. Sometimes I'd like to use my want on thim for fun...but I can't or I'll get in trouble." she looked sad as she mentioned it. "What did you mean when you said there were rumors about meela being...dead..."

"If you sit quietly enough and listen to the way the Proffessor's move you'd hear it too." Scarlet remarked, as she flattened out her pillowcase. "It's in the way there face twists or the way their eyes dull or the way there hands move in certain directions. This one however came from me overhearing something I probably shouldn't have."

"Oh.." her eyes seemed to cloud over for a second but she stopped herself. She wasn't going to cry. Abigale Darkmyth NEVER cried. "S-so..she's..she's really..gone" suddenly she didn't want candy anymore.

Scarlet fiddled with one of her paintbrushes. "We are all brough into this world for a purpose and leave when we have completed that purpose." Scarlet didn't cry, she hadn't cried in years and maybe that had been the problem all along.

She was silent for a while. "So...what now?" she asked looking at her."I mean has the school found her? O-or..do they even know?..will the students be notifyed?..We need to go tell someone."

"I'm sure the Headmistress is well aware. Apparently a Gryffindor came running in from Hogsmede to announce it to Professor Snape." Scarlet remarked still fiddling with the paint brush but now also looking at paint colors in her trunk.

"A griffindor?...Why didn't they kill her too I wonder?" she sighed and leaned back on her pillow forgetting about the sticky candy. Only then did she realize it. "Damn it!" she sighed yet again and yanked the sticky sweets out of her hair.
