He smirked. "Oh, are you saying I wasn't cute before?" He took another bite, leaving the frosting in place. He gave her a serious look, putting his fork down, taking his time to finish his bite of cake. "Now...." He began. "I just wanted to say thanks for inviting me out tonight. I'm really enjoying myself. Something that hasn't happened in a long time."

"Of course not," she smirked sarcastically as he took another bite. She looked somewhat surprised as he thanked her. "You're welcome. I just wanted to say sorry for being a jerk and I figured this would be a good way. Besides, I haven't really enjoyed myself in very long time too, so even more of a reason to go."

"You know, if I wanted to be cute, I'd be offended, but seeing as how I just want to be me, I'm cool with not being cute in the slightest." He smirked. "Guess that's why I never minded your company. I don't care about how some one looks," He paused, using a teasing tone, "or treats me most of the time. As long as they can be themselves around me, that's all I want." He scooped the frosting from his nose on a finger. "And honestly, you shouldn't waste something so tasty." He said pointing his frosting covered finger at her.

Anna smirked. "Why would I ever try to be fake with a brute like yourself?" she joked. "And if you really think I did such a great tragedy to the frosting, then why don't you give it back?"

"Oh, I'm a brute now?" He smirked. "And I think I might just take you up on that offer Anna." He moved his finger towards her face. "Though I am doing this a brute, but as a fan of cake and all things delicious." He laughed lightly.

He stopped mid poke. "Because I don't want your frosting, and it's worth teasing you." He nodded as if it was common knowledge. "Almost anything is worth having a little fun. Something I haven't had in a while." He shrugged, then resumed trying smear her with frosting.

Anna smiled and continued to try and dodge Hotaru's finger.
"Hey you two lovebirds," Harold cried from the other end of the counter. Anna immediately stiffened and looked at Harold, breathless. "Lovebirds?" she stumbled out in a whisper, shocked that he said such a thing. "I've already stayed open late for you guys, but I'm finally gonna have to kick you out," he said, "Want a box for your cake or not?"

Hotaru seized his moment, and frosting was smeared. "I would love a box, thanks, and sorry for keeping you here so late." He smiled. "Huh....lovebirds......that's......" He shook his head, and smirked.

Anna looked at Hotaru with her frosting face. She lifted her hand and with her finger took some of the frosting off. She looked at it then smiled. "I bet this looked better on you," she said, taking a napkin and wiping her face. "And probably tasted better on the cake." Harold placed the boxes by them and as she slid her cake into the box she got up. "Thanks Harold, see you later."
"Don't take so long to visit again or I'm only giving you regular chocolate cake! Okay?"
"Deal," Anna smiled as she headed for the door.

Hotaru smiled, "Not really, you looked really cute with it on." He turned to Harold, "Thanks again, and have a good night." He bowed slightly before turning towards the door, and following Anna.

The only lights on in the street were the street lights, the rest on the were dead with a soft sound of snoring. The moon has high in the sky looking big and bright and playing with the stars. Anna looked up at the sky. "We really have been out for a while," she said and still looking up added quietly, "Look at that moon."

Hotaru turned his head skyward. "Mhm....it's beautiful. I love when the moons like this........and I wouldn't have had tonight go any other way. It was perfect." "Much better than any I've ever had...."

Anna looked at Hotaru. "Yes, it was quite nice wasn't it. Going out for a night and enjoying myself and looking at the moon," she said looking back up. "I just never do it. I don't think I'm ever noticed how beautiful the moon was before. It was always just that bright thing in the night sky."

He smirked at her. " 'Just that bright thing in the night sky' huh? The moon used to be my only friend, back before Leon and Yuffie found me. I don't even remember anything about back then, besides looking up every night and talking to it....." He smiled. "I guess I've always been a little odd...." He looked back up, "But she's always been there watching over me, and always looking so beautiful after every storm."
