He punched the screen despite it being holographic. "Let me in you damned thing!" He banged on it a couple of more times to see what it would do. After he finished banging on it he backed away a little bit and stood ready to fight if needed. "I only want in to this place cause I been wandering this damned place for the past like six or so days..."

*The occupants of the mind would all take note of the sudden change outside. A few seconds ago they would have been able to see the city below them, the towers, and the light from the barrier. Now however the room was only lit by what indoor lighting there may have been, otherwise all became dark. The shadow creature had finally reached the top of the tower, and surrounded everything from the Mind, to floor ninety-six. Viewable from all the windows was a static like effect, with dark blues mingling with the black body of the creature. What it wanted who could say, but it had been some time since it had appeared again. The last time it had visited the tower, the creature was scared away. If any comfort could be taken, those inside the room would hopefully remember that the glass was one way. They could see the creature, but the creature could not see them. For the time being the creature was also silent aswell, only adding to its all around creep factor*

???: ...................

*At the same time, Trilla was clicking her shoes together while still looking up to Mastema. Upon the arrival of the darkness, she would turn her head back and forth looking at the windows. Why had it grown dark all of a sudden? More or less the same reaction was taken by Eecheb, whom was still under the table, about mid way. Micha had raised his sights to one of the windows, but did little else other than that with the exception of blinking*

Micha: . . .

Trilla & Eecheb: ninja question

*By this time, Nana was only a few steps up the stairway, it was a little harder than it had originally looked. But.... as long as she tried that's what counted. Going down the stairs would be far harder on her legs, than going up, but she wouldn't have to worry about that until after the conference ended*

The darkness most visibly ticked off Omega, who came down to the floor again and started snarling at the nearest window. Zeno and Sho seemed more or less baffled by the sudden darkness, and Slayer simply observed what he could. It was probably all right to say most of them recognized it; and they had little reason to attack it out of paranoia. Mastema stood up from his spot. "I would not suppose you can tell it to go elsewhere?" The telepathic voice had been directed at Micha, since he seemed to be one of the creature's constant foci of attention. Still, Mastema doubted that would be enough.

Zio responded passively to Holy. "Unacceptable. Present security conditions prohibit any entries and exits. Repeat, please leave immediately or risk reprimanding"

Thanatos was now riding the elevator to the 98th floor. He had a good chance of coming across Nana on his way to the Mind.

"Well it would be nice to see your leader whenever you have a chance and no need to ask where I'll be I think yall be able to find me." He winked at the person beneath his rags and slammed his fist into the hologram once again. With the bunch though he sent out a small fountain of fire from around his fist that went out for about an ince and disappeared as quickly as it appeared. "Well nice chatting with you." He puts a peace sign to the person in the hologram and then turned around. He let his rags blow in the wind as he walked towards the closet forest he saw on his way here. He though to himself, I'll turn the place to my will to let him know where I am...

*It was unlikely that the creature could hear them inside of the sealed up Mind of the tower, thusly Omega's snarling would be in vein. One could only wonder what Mastema exspected Micha to do. It wasn't likely that the boy could do anything that the creature would be able to notice from inside the tower. Plus there was an uncertainty of what might happen, should the boy be let out to "tell it to go elsewhere". With Mastema standing, he was no longer paying attention to Trilla, so she instead decided to focus on Eecheb. He was looking at the door now, and what window he could see from either side, and Trilla was looking at him. If Mastema didn't being paying attention to Trilla shortly, she would probably join Eecheb under the table. It wasn't as if there was much else to do right now... though, now Trilla was getting thirsty. Perhaps she could find her glass if she decided to follow after Eecheb. Meanwhile Nana was now about half way up the stairway, perhaps a step or two farther. A small huff made it past her lips, she was determined to make it back up to the room*

Cole emerges, cautiously, from below his bed. Whatever that had been, he was quite glad it was gone now. Though it seemed to have damaged his window...

Suddenly worried, Cole casts his senses up the tower. He didn't doubt that the people above were capable, but it didn't make sense not to check. At the time, it didn't occur to him what he would do if everything was not alright, he simply went without quite knowing why.

In moments Cole's attention would wash over Thanatos riding the elevator, checks him over, and moves on. Nana was afforded more time, she seemed tired and worn out. But this didn't seem dire...

Leaving a bit of his attention with Nana, Cole cautiously pokes his senses into the Mind.

((Cole isn't physically here this time around, just in case it wasn't clear.))

::Tyr would slowly move up to his feet sliding the chair back a bit. He would study his surroudings quickly figuring out exactly what was going on. It was likely his friend from the past, he would begin to look about the room for an exit. His hand would move down to his sword meanwhile his cool skin would begin to let off a slight frost. He turned quickly to Mastema after studing his surroundings.::

Transport me outside... I'll deal with this creature.
PostPosted: Tue Jun 27, 2006 4:11 pm

"In what way? Destroy it? I admit, its appearance is a surprise, but I see little reason to combat it.... especially when it seems to have a rather nice hold on our tower" It seemed Mastema didn't agree with the idea of simply destroying the creature. Although it was certain it had some form of combat, it didn't seem to provoke it very often. Mastema simply wished he knew what it wanted.

"I could just zap it," Zenogais suggested, "I doubt Omega can eat and it'll be a lot quicker than swiping a sword at it."

"No. Agreed, it would be more efficient but I still believe it would be better to know what it is really after; I doubt it is malevolent, based on past records"

Slayer spoke up: "It's simply a wild creature in a new habitat. It's exploring, knows vaguely what it's looking for, and is rather timid. Give it something else to occupy its attention and it will be more docile, if it isn't already."

"Perhaps," was Mastema's response. "Micha, Eecheb, Trilla.... this conference is over for now. Perhaps it would be best that you three went about your business. We can handle this little surprise on our own."

*Since Trilla and Eecheb hadn't really been paying attention, they couldn't have known, the darkness currently surrounding the tower was caused by the creature they had seen that one occassion in the west of the citadel. Without seeing a huge yellow and red piercing eye, they would continue to know no better. However, Mastema had said things were over. So-- they were free to go? Needless to say, that was.... well, it. A sudden and unexpected surprise visit was ending the conference earlier than it needed to be? Pity... Nana was almost back to the conference room again, so she could have her chance to say something. Would that chance be taken away from her before she was given it? Nana was probably about seven steps away from the door now. Close enough to hear speech with the raised voices in the room. The children had done well not to cause too much trouble while Nana was gone. Tyrsais still seemed to be uneasy with the creature around, as always. His first response was to kill what ever it was now, and ask questions later. The creature was not harming the tower in any way, it was not crushing it or breaking any windows.... this time. It was simply..... there. There was no way to tell if Zenogais' plan would work, or any of the others. With Mastema's decree that the children could leave, they would all, in their own way begin to move towards the door from what ever location they were currently at. Trilla would toss a glare back to Tyrsais before following after her brothers. The door open, they began to decend the stairs, easily catching sight of their mother on the way down*

^__^
Hello, my dears. Where are you off to?

Trilla: 4laugh Papa said we could go play!

Eecheb: .___., | ...........

Micha: . . .

*Eecheb was rather quiet for once, something was still bothering him. So, Nana would give them all a small pat as they passed by. If things outside were still to dangerous, then Zio wouldn't let them outside. The children couldn't go outside of the barrier without adult supervision anyhow, so as far as things going on outside of the barrier, Nana didn't have to worry to much about that either*

^__^
Oh I see. Well then, don't get into any trouble all right?

*Nodding, more or less to agree the children continued on their way down, while Nana continued to make her way up. Mastema could probably see her from there, and Nana could see a bit of Omega's tail and more or less everyone standing, possibly to leave. From what she could see from her place, seven steps down, a sort of heavy curtain was around the room. maybe to make the holograms more visible? Little did she know it was the shadow creature, brought into the citadel by Micha on an out of barrier adventure when all was pitch black for days*

Is-- the conference over already?
PostPosted: Tue Jun 27, 2006 6:14 pm

"Not really, though our little visitor has put an unexpected halt on our proceedings." From where Nana was, likely she couldn't see the apparition surrounding the Mind. "There is a sort of amorphous creature engulfing the top of the tower. I do not believe it is hostile or malevolent, but it seems curious about something in the tower. Likely, there is not much to worry about." At least he was reassuring her the thing presented little danger.

As the children reached the 98th level, they would likely see Thanatos coming out of the elevator and running down the hall, seeming rather impatient.

o.o !

*Well, this was the first Nana had heard of the creature. When did it appear? How long had it been inside the citadel? How did it get past the barrier? Obviously these and several more questions graced Nana's mind almost immediately. Amorphous? That was like-- well... never mind. As for what was in the tower... well, there were people, and there was food for starters*

o.o;
H--how did it--? When did it--? But, what?

*The children moved aside to let Thanatos pass. He'd likely run into Nana on his way up to the room again since she was already there more or less. What was going on now? At least Thanatos was back if anything, and he seemed uninjured. Eecheb would take a sudden left into their shared room, and immediately found his way to his bed. He must not have been feeling well. Trilla was still thirsty, and hadn't had much of the water that was present at the conference table. It was likely she would head down to the cafeteria to get something to drink. So that just left Micha... Both he and Trilla would board the elevator together, they might as well. Whether or not Micha choose the cafeteria or elsewhere for his destination was his own buisness*

If anyone had been in Cole's room at the time, they would hear him make a very Nana-like huff of exasperation. Splitting his attention like this was, odd to say the least. He hadn't noticed it at first, but now that everyone had more or less assembled in the same spot at the same time he had felt the bits rejoining. The people assembled in the conference room obviously weren't worried, so that was good. But still... Now he toyed with this new ability for a moment, hanging in the hall outside the Mind, before finding a configuration to his liking. Splitting off four little bits of his attention from the main mass, he leaves one at conference room and sends the other three off to bob dutifully behind the children. Maybe Cole was a coward, a word he had learned... in the hospital maybe? Yes, the hospital, a clearer part of his memory. Or maybe just paranoid, but he was distinctly uneasy at the shadowy crushing thing's presence and the oddly familiar voice from earlier.

That accounted for, Cole drops back into his body. He frowns for a moment, stretching out his limbs and joints to a chorus of pops and groans. This out-of-body bit was murder unless you left yourself comfortable.

*The piece of Cole that was around Nana might have noted that yes she did seem warn, however the reason for that level of wear he would not discover for now. Cole was another one of those 'special' people. He had to be, in order to see Nana. Regular humans couldn't see her, afterall she was a being that by many standards did not exist. It was more or less something natural for Nana to not be seen by people. Other creatures, animals, those with certain special abilities... some of them could see her. Why... who knows? The whisps following the children would for now, go unnoticed, but who knew for how long. If there was one hovering around Eecheb, it would find him already under his covers. They would move frequently, Eecheb was restless, fidgetty and uneasy... there was something going on but for now, no one knew what*

"A wife, odd. A partner of marriage doesn't serve much if any tactical role in things... Then again, this is Mastema. Despite his best efforts at cleanliness he has a bad habit of surrounding himself with filth... Interesting... children, plural... yes... I don't believe he might spare the resources for such a pathetic runt if he hadn't aspirations for the boy." the voice chattered to itself, happily. Mugiri hadn't been offered an answer, and wouldn't be. He'd already proven himself incapable of actions worthy of consequence. As it stood, the futile efforts of some boy at the barrier were proving themselves much more amusing.

"Where are you... recycled perhaps? Floating about lazily? Most likely in a reserve bay gathering ust, awaiting more peaceful times that you might once again serve. Who knows where you are my little friend..." Speaking of one who had long since been forgotten, the voice giggled as the air around the elemental crackled. A couple of soft snapping sounds and pops occurred before the distinct smell of ozone hit the breeze. Dull eyes flared to life as the ensared elemental looked once more to the distant Citadel, torrents of pure-white energy arcing through each iris.

"Soon..." The voice promised gleefully, a dark chuckle following into the mind of the elemental as it watched. Already it felt sickened by the distortions of time and space silently amassing around it, ebbing their way through the metaphorical ocean of existance. Soon they would tear apart the fabric of reality and their contents would spill forth, soon the far realms would unleash their hordes once more, soon, the members of the conference would see what upgrades had been made by their enemies, if any.

Soon, he would stand and defy reality one more time, as he always did. Existance was his plaything, he was a god in many a form, and those who held the power to stop him held up behind golden walls of insolence, biding their time and growing... families.

So far everything felt not-normal normal enough. Whatever that shadowy thing was it hadn't brought the tower down and no one really felt worried, so Cole began to relax. When uninhibited by the physical past a person tended to have a lot of time to contemplate the present and the future. To this well honored pass-time Cole now turns. He sets himself up comfortably on the bed and lets his mind wander over things to come.
