Well, seeing as I only know two jutsu (one of them being tree climbing) I'll accept anything you got heading my way. To be totally honest, I'm a little worried if there arent any beginners besides my character around.

Merry January 10th: Reaver rewards you with 5 free techniques (Taken from the New Season Rewards Announcement)
Your character has now gained the 5 free techniques that would have been rewarded to one of my characters. That character being: Crius Akasun.
Quote this into the Training Completion thread, and then choose the 5 jutsu that you would like to gain from it. 3nodding
I wasn't going to use that part of the rewards anyways. XD

(I'm going to avoid the: "not from major villages" reward for this explanation)
As such, when your profile is accepted, your character is an Academy Student with 500 chakra total.
When you go to the academy, and "train" (IE: Make one or more posts totaling up to a technique on the first page) you then submit a Training Completion (TC) post, so that you will have that technique, and it's chakra worth added to your total.
For Example:
You trained 600 for the Water Walking technique.
Your total chakra will be: 500 (Starter) + 600 (Water Walking Technique) = 1,100 Chakra Points.
When you enter combat, you can only use up to your total chakra. (IE: You cant use a 2000 chakra Ninjutsu three times, if you only have 3,000 Chakra for your total)
So during combat, had you decided you needed to use the Substitution Technique (Located in the academy). You would need to subtract the 400 chakra it takes to use that technique, from your total.
If all you know is
Water Walking Technique (600)
Substitution Technique (400)
Henge No Jutsu (300)
Then you would have a total of: 1,800 chakra.
When using the Substitution technique, you would lose 400 chakra from your total, leaving you with 1,400 chakra for the remainder of the battle.
In order to avoid confusion, you cannot permanently lose chakra in this way. The chakra decrease is simply to limit the number of jutsu you could do, and the length of which a battle could extend. When the battle is over, you're considered to have your full total chakra back. (Despite it being unlikely by an RP stand point)
I hope this explains it better, without confusing you further. 3nodding
