Both, basically. If your character has 5500 chakra right now, and you type up 1000 words, your new chakra will be 7500. (1000 x2 = 2000) Whether you use that for techs, or simply raw chakra to add to your total, it works out the same. So yes, it's an excellent time to make a big push and build your characters up.
(That being said, if you decide you don't want to use the doubling, you certainly don't have to.)

Guess I should do those posts I've been procrastinating forever :/
Edit: Who's the mod that looks at Made-ups and uses orange? I'm supposed to PM them about made-up slots but I don't know who it is. If you're already reading this, I got the made-up slots from the kage meeting so they need to be added.

Now to get back to work on my Kyonshi offliner. Goal, 3-4000 words. Current, 2450.
And trying to decide. Give Tamao a new look, or reserve those other pis for her blades' personas?

Progress: 3250/4000/6850? yea, I can see why Drago made is x2 words for the next 4 days. though thats a weird number. Should have totally made it a full week. And this slowness just bugs me cuz I come from Bleach: Elites where the OOC is crazy active like posts every like 5 minutes maybe and there's always a good handful of posts around the guild overall.

Well we usually just get it for a single day, so the four days is quite an upgrade.
And I can imagine, though I think that would be too active for me, I'm used to a more sedate pace. It's certainly been buzzing at other times, though.
