*Than nodded to Tyr's comment* Hai... Unlike the tornado barrier, this one is much more easily controlled. It can be built quickly with the help of the other drones.
Indeed. I will Zio organize the droids after the conference and make sure that the plan is assembled as quickly as possible. *Mastema felt Cole's presence in the first floor lobby clear as day. How he'd got in was a question for another time. Looking at the kids, he could see their boredom and confusion quite clearly. This would be a good opportunity to take care of several things at once* At this point, I propose a short recess. Just for a few minutes. *That would be all the time needed to take care of the problem*
*The table nodded, Sho understanding as best as anyone*
Sho: I'll be right back then..... *Sho was out of the room in 2 seconds flat and heading down towards the first floor with as much speed as he wanted to muster in this kind of place*
*Zeno and Slayer remained in their seats, obviously in thought. Of course, Than took the break as an opportunity to accomplish more*
Than: ^^ All right... Proto and I will try to develop the plan a little bit more in those few minutes.
*With the table at a break, Mastema relaxed and decided to address the younger children. Likely, they had no idea how anything here was working, and Mastema had an appropriate demonstration if that was a case* So then.... Trilla, Eecheb, Micha..... I suppose all of this has you three a bit confused, to say the least...

*There was no doubt that the children were confused. They didn't even know the basics of what anyone was talking about. More or less, the words had no meaning to them at all, so it was no surprise the children couldn't follow along. Proto was with Thanatos, so for now he would probably be ok. That was the main reason they were even there in the first place, to make sure their eldest brother remained in good health. Though durring the first session it was apparent that he was not. Tyrsais had injected him with a virus, though they knew not what one was, they could tell it was bad from the way everyone else reacted to the news. Tyrsais was trouble, why was he allowed to stay? Scaring people, infecting them with viruses, harassing them, and so on... The group had learned little so far, and to answer Mastema, both Trilla and Eecheb would nod*
Trilla: o.o | Ya~

*Mastema chuckled lightly and nodded. It seems his demonstration would come in handy after all* Well then let me help you understand a little better. One moment.... Zio.... *Mastema turned the center of the table* I require a 50 milliliter buret filled with water on a stand and clamp, a small hand magnet, and..... a marble. *Giving its familiar affirmation, the requested objects would appear on the table in front of Mastema. The buret was like an elongated test tube with an open tip and valve at the bottom. Mastema took hold of the small, circular magnet and marble and placed the latter right under the tip of the buret, where it would be in the path of the water* You will need to use your imagination a bit to understand; I want you all to pretend that the marble, here, is the barrier around the citadel. *Mastema turned the valve at the end of the buret, and a steady stream of water, no larger than a strand of hair, would spray out and hit the marble, though not strong enough to move it* The stream of water hitting the marble is the same as the plasma beams, which the..... "bad people" have been using against us. *Contrary to usual, Mastema seemed to be at least trying to use more understandable vocabulary; otherwise, he probably wouldn't have said "bad people."* The more the beam of plasma hits the barrier, the worse it is for us. Now... *Mastema showed them all the magnet in his hand* Pretend that this is one of the pillars you saw Proto and Thanatos show you a little earlier. As you can see, with nothing between the plasma beam and the barrier, the beam simply hits the barrier and damages it. Now.... watch what happens when I introduce the magnet, which represents one of the pillars, into the area. *Mastema would slowly move the magnet closer to the water, and all of the kids would see quite clearly that the stream of water would bend towards the magnet. The stream of water was now hitting neither the marble nor the magnet*

((^^;;; Using a magnet to divert water? That's... quite the trick.))
Wow, for a huge impressive tower this place was pretty boring so far. Nothing but empty rooms and more empty rooms...
He ghosts through the walls quickly, trying to find something of interest. Occasionally he pokes his head through the ceiling, but only sees more of the same.

Maybe there was something interesting below.

*All right, so the marble was the barrier, ok the children could work with that. Mmhmm... and the water was like the weaponry that was used by the enemy trying to get inside of the citadel. Understandable. All eyes remained on Mastema as his demonstration continued. At least he was making an effort, so that the children wouldn't be so.... "in the dark" about things. Still, there were questions that would have to be answered. Mastema should be able to explain his answers, just as well as his display of sorts. A seat away, Nana was glad to see Mastema explaining things to the children so that they could understand things, and the situation. Trilla of course being the most vocal and quizzical, more or less because she was around Mastema more often, so it was easier for her to talk to him. Trilla's question of course, was refering to the water bending away from both marble and magnet*
Trilla: o.o | Why does it do that?!

*Mastema chuckled at Trilla question; after a few more seconds of letting the kids see the display, he closed the water valve to answer Trilla's question. There was quite a lot to it that Trilla wouldn't yet understand, but he could at least explain it to her, and the others, in a way that they'd understand* Around this magnet is an invisible area that it affects. We call this area a magnetic field. *The children should probably remember that word being brought up in the discussion of the magnet barrier* Any magnet will have a magnetic field, though some will be stronger than others. A magnet can pull or push on something that is magnetized. And, essentially, the water is magnetized and pulled towards the magnet when it's close enough. *Mastema grinned slightly* There is a lot more to it to explain fully, but those are the basics of how it works.
Sho: *Even before Mastema had finished his explanation to the children, Sho was practically at the bottom of the tower. As Sho passed the 2nd floor and down to the 1st, he would notice that Cole had somehow got to the second floor without passing him* o_0 What the?.... *Sho headed back up to the second floor and still couldn't find Cole* okay... there was something here a minute ago...... I think......

Heeeeey, I know this guy. Sho was it?
Cole comes up through the staircase behind Sho, inspecting him from behind.
I wander where he's going? Might as well follow 'im.

Trilla: o.o | Is Trilla magnetizied?
*Magnetic fields could affect living beings, though it may be uncertain just how it might affect some of the residence who lived within the citadel, the children included. The proximity needed to affect any of them was currently unknown. While Trilla asked her question, Eecheb would hop out of his seat and began to wander around the table over towards Orias. At the same time Eecheb would also look toward the ceiling, at Omega. Micha would remain where he was, taking his glass of water and sipping from it again, as he had earlier*
Eecheb: o___o | ?

Hmm.... magnetic fields can affect living beings if they are powerful enough but not very predictably. I do not think that they would affect you enough to call you magnetized, however. *he chuckled and pat Trilla on the head for her questioning. Afterwards, Mastema took a cloth and started cleaning the water off the table top*
Sho: *Cautiously, Sho would start to walk around again, mostly on the second floor. He couldn't shake the idea that he'd certainly felt something*

Trilla: 4laugh heart
*As usual, Trilla rather enjoyed the positive attention and watched Mastema afterward as he cleaned up the space where he had demonstrated the meaning of Thanatos and Proto's display, and explination of it. Micha seemed indifferent to it and continued to sip away at his water. Eecheb continued to slowly wander around the side of the table until he reached Orais. By then Eecheb had taken his eyes off of Omega, and was now focused on Orias. Nana would of course be ever watchful of the children and what was going on, it was a mothers instinct*
Eecheb: o__o | Hi.

-_- You're kidding me, he's just wandering aimlessly too? Damn, maybe this place isn't as interesting as I thought...
Although... I suppose he had to come FROM somewhere... maybe there's something further up the tower?
With that, Cole leaps upwards through the ceiling. There must be something further up.

Sho: Hmm... well may as well head back for now. A fluke I guess. *With speed equal to that which he'd come down, Sho would bolt back up to the top floor. If Cole saw him, he would probably note Sho's insane running speed*
*Mastema looked across the table to Proto and Thanatos, noting that each of them was working with an almost same-minded efficiency. Mastema would also see Slayer casting him a slight smile. Mastema could tell that his lecture had pleased his old friend*....

Mugiri finally saw the citadel in the distance. He was scratched, bruised, bleeding in some parts of his body. His clothes were more strips of cloth that trailed from the small pieces still attached to his body correctly. His scarf was still in place, but ripped in multiple places. He had a small pair of black wings on his back, pressed firmly to his shoulder blades. He was not noticeably different other than his wings, but he was now exhuasted, and weak from days without sleep. He stumbled into barely a hundred yards awa, and he called loudly, with all of his remaining energy, "Mastema!" He fell, unconscious before he hit the ground.

*Mastema paying attention and explaining things to the children, was far better than getting slapped across the face with a glove, any day! It was a start if anything, off on the right foot and all that. With more of the same later on hopefully. Being a father.... a good father, especially at this point and time in their lives, was important. Shaping them for the future, and what ever fate might befall them, was critical now. Their take on life, understanding, phillosiphy, general intelligence, attitides, etc would be determined by a group effort, not simply Nana alone. Micha, finishing with his water for now would place the glass back upon the table, after which he'd turn his head toward the general direction where Mugiri lye. Perhaps if Mastema noticed the boy, he too would look thusly and perhaps feel that Mugiri was there, outside of the barrier*

*Mastema was already well aware of Mugiri's outside collapse. There was no point in letting new potential go to waste. Several droids would be dispatched shortly to take the man to the infirmary. Recognizing Micha's show of sensibility to such things, the boy would receive a pat or two on his head as Trilla had* Hmm hmm....
Sho: *Yawning, Sho would trot back into the 100th floor*
