Kaori struggles to hold back her tears. "My house! Its gone! I'm now officially HOMELESS." She puts her hands over her face and sobs.
Martii goes over to Kaori and hugs her. "It's ok Kaori, you'll be ok, everythings going to be alright, I know it will." She says in the most positive voice she can manage. She looks over at Eon and feels her heart hurt. Looking down at the town she feels a tear trickle down her face, she wipes it away before anyone can see her.
Marine and Tobias look down at the town they once lived in. "Well Brother, I hope you have a plan." She looks down at the town below and picks up a new Fallen, "WTF is happening!" He exclaimes in horror and confusion. "The town is being destroyed," she says simply and blunt.
Ray sighs, "Well, how cival." She rolls her eyes and begs Shard to put her down.

((I'm just gonna establish that the "new fallen" isn't a major part of the story))
Alex looks back, seeing that Kita stayed behind. She grimaced, but turned and led the others to a cave a few miles away from the town. Though they are far, they can still feel a bit of heat from the burning town. "We should be alright in here," Alex said to the others after scouting the cave. It was deep enough to escape the heat, and there was a crack in the side of the cave wide enough to slip a person through. She didn't know how far the extra cave itself went. After relaying what she had found, everyone gathered in the cave. It was hours before anyone spoke, and when they did, it was Kita over the comlink.
"It's done," she said, keeping her voice hard. "You can all come back." Kita put down her comlink, and stared at the last remaining flames. She had poked at it a few times, and she never got burned. Not even her wings got on fire. She had scouted the town briefly, searching her friend's homes, which were now ruin. She found Martii's locket, amazingly, under a rock with a small indent in it. She headed to the Cafe, and where the door collapsed, Kita was horrorfied to see a human arm sticking out from under the rubble. She hurried to her house, but when she got there, she stared in confusion, then horror, then grim acceptance. It wasn't even there anymore. It was as if the Destruction had wanted to hurt her, over all the others, whether she survived or not. She had left, and went to the fountain, and wondered why it too had to be destroyed. Then she remembered it was destroyed when she was arguing with Zeek. "Zeek," she had breathed as she thought of him, and her heart ached for him. Now she was back at the edge of the forest, staring into the flames. As the others made their way back to the town, she thought about how she had once tried to do the same, as Zera, but failed. "This is what was supposed to happen," she muttered softly. "Whether we destroyed the town or not. It would have struck." She smiled grimly at the thought. A double assault. She would have loved the idea when she had arrived, all those years ago. But now she was numb. Appalled. Whatever. She glanced at the book and at the locket, saying, "At least something survived." She had read the book over and over, but it always ended with: "Destruction released. No word on survivors." She had watched as the last sentence faded onto the book, and realized it updated itself.
Shard was the first to arrive, followed by Kaori, then Kiki, then Alex, Martii, Shard, Zanna, Rayne, Marine, Ray, and Tobias. They all stared at their home. Kita was sitting in the dirt, scribbling "Crying solves nothing" in the dirt over and over with a stick. Dispite the words, dried up trails of tears could be seen down her cheeks.

Kaori's eyes flooded wth tears, she once again put her hands over her face and balled, falling to her knee's she just cried and cried mumering jibberish, "Nothing, nothing is left, everything is gone, we are all homeless and we are all going to die eventually because we are going to starve and have to eat each toerh and freeze to death, and Winter is coming soon." She starts hyperventialating.
Martii looks for Eon, "Eon." She whispers barely even saying anything. She goes over to Alex and tears, hugging her unexpectantly.
Marine and Tobias sigh, they turn around to leave seeing how there's no use to stay.
Ray huffs, walking over to Kita she taps her shoulder, "Hey. Mind if I look at that book." She asks pointing to the book.

Kita didn't even look at Ray. "Why?" she asked, her voice dead. "It's just recent events. But if you want it, I won't stop you." She gets up, taking the locket, but leaving the book, and walks to Martii. Without a word, she pries her off of Alex and hands her her locket. She stared at her for a moment before turning and walking in front of everyone. She raised her wings and waited for everyone to quiet down. Kaori still sobbed, but much more quieter. Lowering her wings, she said with determination, "That book is the only thing that warned me of this. It's fortunate that Kaori found it in the first place. For that, my thanks go out to her. Now, so our houses got destroyed. Look around you. There's rocks. There's wood. I scouted earlier and found almost all the tools survived. We can rebuild. This isn't some rare material we can't find anywhere else in the world. I know it's really hard seeing our Home destroyed like this. I know." Kita absently brushed away her scribblings in the dirt with her wings. "But that doesn't mean that we can't all chip in and try to make the town better than it was." She stopped suddenly. "Where's the kids?"

Martii took the locket, and looked up at Kita. She smiled a little bit and cheered, "Whoo!" She screams hoping she isnt the only one who does it.
Kaori wipes the tears away and looks up at Kita, she gets up and walks away and starts to collect wood and rocks. Huffing and puffing and a little cursing.
Ray scimmers through the book, "Wow, this is- old. Ahh, yes." She says clearing her throat. "They left." She said still looking down at the book.

Kita glares at Ray. "Gee, thanks." She turns to the others. "I'll be back. If you need me, my comm is always on." With that, she left in search of the kids, and finds them in a few minutes.
The Fallen start to clear away the rubble at their own houses, finding other things that had survived the Destruction. They start to collect rocks big enough to pile up, along with shards of wood, and planks. Kiki helps mend them. Shard goes off in search for paste to keep the rocks and planks together. Alex goes off in search of insulator and other things that might be useful.

Martii rumages through Eon's stuff, she finds a blanket or two that are in good shape and she takes out the stuffing of his couch. Walking back over to Kiki she puts the things down, "Is this any help?" She asks with a hopeful face.
Marine and Tobias turn back to Kita, "Yes?" Tobias asks, scratching his arm.

Kiki nods with a surprising amount of happiness, despite the horrors that have gone around them. "This'll be perfect! We can use the stuffing for insulator and the blankets for their intended purpose! It gets cold here at nights. Thank you Martii. Keep up the good work!" She turns back to what she was doing.
"Still roaming the forests?" Kita said smiling at the kids. "What's the point? We're rebuilding the town, and we could use some help."

Martii smiled largely and went back into Eon's house, she digs through the cupboards and finds a lighter, and some candles, and then in the bathroom she finds toilet paper, "Thank god!" Martii grabs all of it and runs back downstairs.
Kaori pokes things around and then finally decides to go into her house, she hopes to God that the picture of her Family wasnt destroyed. She runs into what was once the Living Room and digs around the things, "Thank God!" She says hugging the picture, although the glass of the frame is broken. She keeps going and goes into her closet taking some clothes that werent burnt.
Marine smiles before Tobias can say anything and runs back to where the Fallens are.
Ray gets up and searches in Kaori's house with her.

Kita watches the kids go, but hangs back. She feels empty. She had to force herself to watch the town burn. More than once she was tempted to look away, but she kept her eyes over the flames. Now she stands in the forest, feeling somewhat disturbed. Suddenly she doubles over, putting one hand up on a tree, and retches. She throws up a few more times before wiping her mouth and spitting out the last of the bile. She coughs twice, spits a few more times, and returns to the town. She walks to the Cafe again, ignoring the curious stares from the others. Glancing around when she reaches it, she goes around the back and lifts a stone door. Remarkably everything inside was untouched. She smiled and went in.
Shard stares at the town before entering Kaori's house and helps her to search. He pulls out a few planks of wood, more clothes, and few more blankets.
All the Fallen are silent as they work, they all leave each other to their own dark thoughts.

Kaori sniffles and sits down on a pile of dirt. She starts crying, "Shard, I'm sorry I cant do this. What if we dont make it, its going to take days and months to fix this. Why does it always have to be so damn hard." She sighs and coughs a little. The dirt hurts her lungs and she silently prays. She gets up and walks outside handing Kiki the things she gathered she walks not sure where she's going farther into the forest.

Shard looked at Kaori in surprise. "Don't say that," he said sharply, following her. "You can make it through this. It's just a setback. We can start over. There's nothing to despair about. And Kaori,"he grabs her hand and makes her stop. He looks straight into her eyes and says, "I love you. Okay? We'll make it through together."
The sun starts to rise again, and light is shown on the horrors of the night. But among the rubble, a few white flowers with red centers pops up all over the ground. Poppies, roses, daises, orchids, and other flowers pop out of the scarred ground. The Fallen stop their work and stare at the beautiful flowers.
"Among all this Destruction, Beauty can be found..." Kiki said, her voice loud in the silence.

Kaori smiles at him, "I love you to." She kisses his cheek and turns back and looks at a flower sprouting from the ground. "Thank you." She takes his hand and leads him back to where the Fallen's are all looking at the flowers.
Martii jumps up and down "There's hope!" She screams kissing the ground.

A few Fallen laugh, and Eon walks up to Martii, helping her up.
Kita steps out from the cellar, her arms full of food and blankets. She looks down at the ground and her hope soars. She approaches the others, yelling, "WE'VE GOT FOOD AND BLANKETS!! There's a whole storage unit under the Cafe that wasn't touched! Everything is in perfect condition." She laughs, then says, "We should all sleep in the Estate tonight. It's big enough for all of us, and more. Take whatever food and blankets and whatever you can and follow me." Still holding the stuff, she led them all to the middle of the town, on the left side of the destroyed fountain. She kept her eyes away from it. She led them into a large mansion with plenty of rooms and bathrooms. "Make yourselves at home," she said, putting down the stuff on the couch in the living room. She glanced up at the sagging ceiling. "Huh...We're gonna have to have that fixed."
So the others set to fixing up the amazingly still standing mansion. They lifted up the ceilings and fix a few staircases. Some were already setting up their rooms.

Kaori went with Shard and got some blankets and food. They return to the Estate and Koari goes and sets up her room. Making the bed and dusting off the pieces with dust on them.
Martii laughs, "Thank you." She dusts herself off and finds a room.
Ray claps, she takes a room that is farther away from the others.
Once Kaori is finished she goes downstairs and starts to make dinner with Martii.
