Actually, you have to wait until the flowers show up to see if it's an Alt. sad

Actually, if you can see subtle differences, you may be able to spot it in S1. It's tricky. If you look at the sprites here, you can compare them to your newborn.

Thanks! Having images to compare against is awesome.



Even having something to compare it to is still difficult. The yellow/orange is SO close. I've given away an alt not realizing it was an alt. Lucky person who got it.
