"Induce..." Terryn gulped. "No, no thank you. I think I would rather get something to dull the pain and then let it run its course."

"But it may sit in stomach," pointed out Dr. Drabinsky, jabbing a finger towards her stomach. "May be death, if poison sits long."

This thought was even more unsettling to Terryn than regurgitation. "Alright then, if I must. I suppose..." She looked to Marcus, not liking the fact that there was a lethal substance possibly eating away at her insides as she stood there.

Marcus shrugged unhelpfully. He had complete faith in Dr. Drabinsky, and if the man needed to induce vomit, so be it. Meanwhile, the Dr. looked irritable. "Suppose? If you not like, die!" he grumbled, pulling a large jug of tar-water out of a cabinet and filling a glass with it.

"No, no thank you." Terryn winced at the pain in her side again and sighed. "I think I want to live a little longer than this."

To Marcus's surprise, Dr. Drabinsky shoved the glass into his hand and threw open a door to the side yard, which smelled a little overwhelmingly of lilies and marigolds. Marcus suspected that it was to cover the stench of something else. "Shove it down her throat," were the instructions. "Until it's all gone."

Terryn blinked. "Lovely." She wasn't deaf, after all. Sighing resignedly, she trudged out into the yard, more upset that she had gotten into this situation in the first place.

Marcus followed her out, carrying the tar-water a full arm's length away from him. "Ready?" he asked, raising the glass. He couldn't believe he was doing this.

"Do I look ready?" Terryn sighed and took the cup, gagging just at the smell of it. "Could you...go back inside? I would prefer if you did not watch this."

Marcus surprised himself by shaking his head. He was normally a little queasy when it came to things like this, but he felt almost obligated to be here now. "I doubt the Doctor will let me."

"Please?" If it wasn't enough embarassment that Terryn had let herself get raped, now she couldn't throw up in peace? "I promise, I will actually drin it. I just...do not feel comfortable with you around to see."

"No. I'm staying," answered Marcus, feeling stubborn. It seemed almost noble at the time to stick around and watch Terryn throw up. "Chances are good that I'm going to look away most of the time."

"Well if you insist, then turn around. This is not exactly something that I wish to display in public." Terryn gulped, looking queasy at the sight of the concoction she was holding. "Alright then..." She piched her nose and swallowed the whole thing, automatically feeling disgusted. "Alright that-oh dear Lord..." Thank God for that flowery smell all around.

With every retch came a wave of guilt. Marcus squeezed his eyes shut, stiffening until the gagging came to an end. Tentatively, he opened his eyes and winced automatically. "Is it...done?"

Terryn nearly glared at him, not feeling very friendly at the moment. "I need something sweet. Or strong. Anything to cover up the taste of regurgitated toxins."
