Blizzard120 "It will be hard, Fela, I get it. But there's a point where you have to let go. Like I tried telling you yesterday afternoon, it will be fine. But you have to let it be. Miss Vivillion, sure, but I'm pretty certain that Vivillion isn't going to want you like this all the time just because its gone to live its life." Tristen said to her. Fela slowly nodded in response to Tristen, muttering one word as she looked away. "Okay..." She said, accepting what he was saying and immediately going back to her sandwich, as if she didn't want to go over this topic too much. Penny would watch this transpire and looked to Tristen then back at Fela, just watching her for a bit, surprised how dismissive she was of Tristen's comments. The other girl was in the worst of ways over this Vivillon. "You going to be okay, Fela?" She asked her classmate and friend. The other girl would nod at Fela, never locking eyes as she picked at her sandwich. "Yeah...yeah, I will be..." She said, immediately standing up after and grabbing her tray in the process. "I'm uh...not hungry. See you all around..." With that the girl walked off with her barely touched sandwich, throwing it away and putting her tray up before leaving the cafeteria. The others would just sit there and watch Fela walk off in silence. After she was gone the twins would begin to ask what was wrong with Fela, again asking if she was sick. Matteo however was quick to shut them down, taking the brunt of all their questions as he reigned them back in. Nemona and Florian didn't have much to say, the vibe in general kind of soured. It would be Penny who would speak to Tristen first followed by Camp. "She is really attached to that Vivillon, isn't she?" Penny asked of Tristen. "Can't blame her, it has an extremely rare pattern, especially for here in Paldea." Camp chimed in. Penny would just roll her eyes and sigh and make a point that she didn't think Fela was concerned with the pattern on its wings. Bug Catcher mentality.

“Its not the pattern. Man, I should have seen it sooner.” Tristen mentioned to the group. “Even as a Scatterbug, she wanted nothing but the best for Vivillion. That first week we had it, soon after you left us Penny after help teaching it Struggle bug? Remember that? She got well attached to it, learning how to battle with Scatterbug and all of that. Right after that tournament that weekend? She left it with me because she couldn’t bring it with her on a trip to go pick up relatives from another region. You guys should have seen it. She had like…a lot of stuff to take care of Scatterbug. I didn’t think too much of it at the time; I thought she was trying to make sure that Scatterbug stayed good for the entire month we had it. It was our grade on the line after all. But then…well, I don’t know what happened in the two weeks I was gone other than after coming back hearing about Vivillion going missing trying to look for me after it evolved. It probably never really occurred to her that she had to give up Vivillion and now the reality is setting in and trying to find somehow to cope.” Tristen explained.
“I’ve already tried telling her yesterday that everything was going to be okay, just as I did now, but I’m guessing that she didn’t take it to heart. Or…” He then looked back towards the door for a second before looking back towards the others. “…perhaps didn’t want to take it to heart. I don’t know what to do at this point. Has Fela ever been like this before?” he asked no one in particular.

The older kids listened to Tristen while the twins were off in another world, like a guided meditation via Matteo who got them to focus on that 'kid's show' that Matteo definitely didn't watch. Penny would be the first to speak again in response to Tristen. "Don't feel bad, you tried to cushion the blow for her. It's not your fault she isn't taking it well." The girl tried to assure Tristen.
"She did something similar that one time." Camp spoke up in between bites, taking another bite right after as if he expected someone else to follow up with his answer to Tristen's question.
"Yeah...we had a project that involved Magikarp eggs, a dual project for both Home Ec and Biology." Florian chimed in to help explain. Penny sighed.
"We were given Magikarp eggs to take care of for two weeks, you know, see if we would make good parents. All the eggs were timed to hatch at the same time when returned to the river they were laid in and when it was time to put the eggs back so they could hatch and the Magikarp swim away. Fela raised a big stink about it and wanted to capture her Magikarp the moment it hatched but Mr. Jacq had to tell her no. She stormed off and sulked for a few days but she got out of it eventually." Penny explained.

Penny explained. Not enough to show a trend yet, but it was funny that Mr. Jacq’s class was once again involved in this whole Magikarp assignment. Tristen crossed his arms just then, a realization. For someone who didn’t have too much of an interest in raising Pokémon, preferring to studying them, she honestly gets herself overly attached to her assignments like this. Probably what was transpiring just now is why. She knows herself well enough and yet she falls into her own shortcomings. But then, another thought occurred to Tristen just then. Back when he ended up having to take care of their science project when she went off that weekend, she couldn’t bring it along. At the time, Tristen figured it was so she didn’t accidentally lose the class assignment in another region and there was no other trustworthy person than him to take care of it. But now…it did beg the question to the Manetric hybrid. “…does…Fela have any Pokémon of her own?” Tristen asked, curiously. The more that he thought about it, he never noticed her carrying any Pokemon on her, nor has she mentioned any Pokemon belonging to her specifically.

It was a question that none of them seemed to have an immediate answer to as they all began to look towards each other for an answer, as if they had never even thought about this before. Quickly the group came to a consensus without a word and it was through Matteo the answer came, having got the twins to talk between themselves about which was stronger; Lucario Kid or Lokix Rider? Now he had a moment to speak. "She doesn't have any Pokemon of her own." Matteo plainly stated. "Her parents gave her a Fletchling a couple years ago and it ended up flying away. She was really upset about it for a long while, her parents even let her stay home for a week." The boy continued. "I forgot all about that...Nemona tried chasing it down for her too." Penny said, then turning her attention to Nemona. "...but came back with an entirely different Fletchling, three of them in fact." The girl said with a sigh. All Nemona could do was chuckle, embarrassed as she rubbed the back of her head.

All Nemona could do was chuckle, embarrassed as she rubbed the back of her head. Another Pokémon gone, even before the Magikarp. “And I take it no one really knows why that Fletchling left either…” Tristen commenting. At least when Vivillion left, it was on the hunt for the Manetric teen to show off its wings. Regardless, Fela was upset about it too, obviously enough given what they said. Tristen doubted that helping her get another Pokémon would actually fix things. That would effectively throwing a random wild stranger of a Pokémon under the bus to help Fela cope that neither it or Fela would be ready for. Never mind that he didn’t know what got the Fletchling to leave those couple of years ago and even if it was to the fault of Fela, he would have liked to think Fela wouldn’t do anything that would make a Pokémon hightail it. Though there could be worse outcomes. Matteo’s Shelgon was proof of that one. He could only speculate at this point. “I guess all we can do is just let Fela just get it out of her system, I guess.” Tristen said, not really confident in coming to that conclusion. “Kinda leaves me wondering now like yesterday if I should try turning Vivillion in during Science class early today, just to peel off that proverbial Band-Aid already, or if I should still wait until Friday when its time. Either way, it’s gotta happen and Fela is probably not going to like it.” Tristen would finally get into his own sandwich, realizing that he burned through a fair chunk of the lunch period just trying to just get down and parse the apparent psyche of a currently miserable teen girl. After he got some of the sandwich down, he looked towards the others. “At any rate, I’m open to suggestions.”

Wasn't the worse idea, if she got over the other two times maybe that was all the girl needed, time. "Or at least wait until after you guys turn in your project. She might have gotten it out of her system by then or at the very least Mr. Jacq can help out." Camp suggested. ----- Eventually the lunch bell would ring without Fela returning, however that was expected. Matteo would help the twins clean up and move along while everyone but Penny shuffled off after telling Tristen goodbye. "She'll be okay, Tristen. Don't worry yourself too much." Penny reassured the boy before she made off for class as well.

“That’s probably all I can actually do.” Tristen said, the more that he thought about after Camp and Penny spoke. Tristen would proceed to finish off his meal, though it wasn’t lost on him that conversation after that point pretty much died, other than the twins talking about whatever show they were going on about. Probably the sad state of affairs when the most TV one watched was the news because of Tristen’s occupation otherwise. When came time for the bell to alert the school that the next class was about to begin, Tristen would get up and start saying his goodbyes-for-now to his friends. Though Fela never came back. Well, hopefully she wasn’t so out of it to miss science class next period. Tristen would clean up his small spot of the table and make his way off. A stop by the restroom then finally off to Mr. Jacq’s science class.

Tristen would make it to Mr. Jacq's classroom soon enough and perhaps to his pleasant surprise he would find that Fela was already there, seated in her desk, her nose in her textbook. She would not see Tristen walk in, or rather didn't act like she did, instead her eyes remained focused on the textbook she had propped up on the desk.
A couple minutes after Tristen showed up the class bell would ring and of course Mr. Jacq would be late, arriving about two minutes after the bell, running in with a bunch of books and papers. Why he carried all that stuff was anyone's guess, not that Tristen really questioned it anymore, no one else did for that matter. After dropping his stuff on the desk and shutting the door he would turn to his class.
"Hello class! How are we doing today?" He asked, several students speaking up and saying things like 'good', 'great', or 'not bad'. There was even a 'terrible' mixed in there somewhere, someone trying to be a joker but the teacher didn't pay it no mind. "Well then before we start with today's lesson and considering this will be the last time we meet before Friday does anyone wish to turn their Scatterbug project in today? Just so we can get that out of the way. Anyone?" Mr. Jacq asked.
It was at this point where Fela finally looked up from her book, looking over towards Tristen, who eyes reflecting a question; 'do they turn it in?'. It was clear she was giving him the final say, why else did she hand the ball over at lunch? Her eyes though also reflected something else, the sorrow she was feeling in this moment. Maybe it was a good idea to just rip the bandaid off. It was Tristen's decision, what would he do? Speak up or say nothing?

Maybe it was a good idea to just rip the bandaid off. It was Tristen's decision, what would he do? Speak up or say nothing? Tristen took a glance at Fela for a second, then took out the Pokeball. He contemplated a bit, his mind going at warp speed as to figure out what to do. Leaving Tristen the final say on this. In his position, there was really no right answer to this it felt like. Do it now, put Fela on the track of out her immediate misery and on the track to healing, or wait until Friday, find out from Vivillion what happened last night, perhaps give Fela the opportunity to make peace and say her good byes albeit at the risk of her succumbing to temptation and doing what she had thought to do during lunch or worse. Never mind that he wouldn’t have minded saying his own goodbyes and maybe give Wimpod an opportunity for that matter. Though honestly? That would have been a bit selfish on his part. Fela could probably see the hesitation on the Manetric hybrid’s face, trying to figure out just what the best thing to do in that very instant. A little bit of clarity started to shine through, however. Tristen had the realization just then based on context from earlier during lunch, thanks to the story of the Magikarp lesson, that chances are they would probably head out somewhere to let the Vivillion and Spewpa converse amongst themselves, maybe get mates immediately, if not fly out somewhere. He couldn’t imagine Mr. Jacq not finding an opportunity for a lesson in all of that. So, its probably safe to say that he’d see Vivillion again just before it heads on out. Considering everything in that very brief moment, Tristen figured it wasn’t going to be pretty either way, but it was probably the safer call… Tristen would raise his hand to Mr. Jacq. “We’re ready, Mr. Jacq.” Tristen spoke up to the teacher.

Blizzard120 Tristen would raise his hand to Mr. Jacq. “We’re ready, Mr. Jacq.” Tristen spoke up to the teacher. "Hm? Oh! Tristen and Fela! Please, both of you, step up to the front. Bring the Pokeball, of course." Mr. Jacq said, motioning for them both to get up and come to the front of the class. Tristen might see that Fela let out a big sigh in that moment, perhaps one of relief, the girl then slowly standing up and almost marching to the front of the class along with Tristen. She really did just want to get this over with. Once both Tristen and Fela made it to the front Mr. Jacq would kind of position them together in front of his desk as he sat behind it, his chair elevated enough to see over their young heads. With everyone in position he spoke again. "So, which one of you will be doing the honors?" He asked them, Fela turning her head around to look at the teacher before speaking. "Tristen can, he has the ball right now..." She said, turning to look at Tristen, giving him a kind of flat smile of acknowledgement, certainly not one of actual happiness. "Alright, then. So what have you two got, Mr. Tristen? Spewpa? Or did we go the extra mile for a Vivillon? Time to show the class!" Mr. Jacq said, leaning forward as he waited to see what Tristen would release.

Tristen would get up with the Premier Ball in tow, noting Fela’s sigh. He wasn’t sure if it was disappointment or relief, but either way, Tristen was committed to it. He was quickly trying to go through his mind, figuring out any and all possibilities as to how to help Fela out later. He just needed to get Vivillion out of risk for damage. He would make his way to the front of the class with Fela in relatively short order as Mr. Jacq took a spot near the two to oversee the presentation. Part of him wished that maybe he could have started asking questions to the bug Pokémon later, but really? At this point, it was unimportant. “We actually went the extra mile.” Tristen said, popping open the Premier Ball to release Vivillion for the teacher and the class to see.

The class collective gasped as Vivillon appeared from the ball, the butterfly letting out a happy cry as it exploded forth, its Pokeball design wings stretched out wide and on display. After the initial appearance the Pokemon look briefly confused as it was facing the class only to turn back and see both Fela and Tristen, fluttering over to them both as it snuggled up against Fela and then to Tristen before it decided to land and settle on his head. The class laughed at this display but Vivillon paid them no mind.
"Oh wow! You really did! Excellent work on evolving it all the way to Vivillon! Both of you! And look at its wing pattern, a Pokeball pattern! Who would have known that one of those little Scatterbug had the gene for such a rare pattern? I am amazed!" Mr. Jacq declared, almost gushing over their hard work and the butterfly's wing pattern. "So, Fela, Tristen, would you two care to tell us a bit about the training you put your Scatterbug through to reach such heights? It looks very happy and healthy too. What did you feed it?" He asked them both.
Immediately Fela started to look nervous, looking from Tristen to the teacher and back before barely getting a few words out. "Oh um...just uh...Pokechow and berries and...things..." She said, suddenly incredibly nervous. Mr. Jacq would take notice of this.

SubonicXP Immediately Fela started to look nervous, looking from Tristen to the teacher and back before barely getting a few words out. "Oh um...just uh...Pokechow and berries and...things..." She said, suddenly incredibly nervous. Mr. Jacq would take notice of this. Tristen would give the Vivillion a hug as it snuggled up to him in partuclar and once Vivillion floated about to greet Fela and make a show in front of the class, Tristen gave a bit of a laugh, trying to make sure not to really get Vivillion think anything much was wrong. Getting the praise there after by Mr. Jacq was actually quite promising as well. So far so good. But then quickly things were starting to deteriorate. Fela was starting to cave to all the issues that was getting to her at the moment. This was where he had to take over in a hurry like he did his first day here with Matteo. "Yea, we had the berries and Pokechow specifically for bug type Pokemon...And to help Vivillion get this far also..." he took out another Pokeball and popped it open towards the ground. As the Pokemon materialized, the students would find a familiar Pokemon from a couple of weeks ago. "Wii-pa?" Wimpod spoke up as soon as he was out. Tristen bent down and picked up Wimpod off the floor and picked him up for the students to see. "Hey, Wimpod. How are you doing?" "Wi-paaa..." Wimpod said, sinking into the Manetric teen's arms. It was this room again. With all the people. It would notice Vivillion up above and oddly felt a little more at ease. Tristen couldn't help but to give a little laugh. "You might remember Wimpod here when Mr. Jacq decided to check on us a while back ago and we showed off Vivillion as a Spewpa. Wimpod here helped out quite a bit, all the way back when Vivillion was a Scatterbug. It was going to be tough just taking on any random wild Pokemon that was out and about so Wimpod was going to make sure things stayed pretty alright and as an added bonus, to help Wimpod get some training in as well. Unfortunately, I did end up having to stay out of classes for that two weeks because of what happened back then. Fela ended up picking up a lot of the slack while I have been gone. For example, Vivillion got a bit of its fill of some of the flowers between here and Los Platos since Vivillion loves the nectar from those flowers." he said. While he was witholding the fact that he also heard around that point Vivillion had ran off from Fela in order to find him, it wasn't a lie, having to play around with what he knew. He was trying to make sure that Fela's nervousness of the class on top of her overall sadness from about to be losing Vivillion was not going to cost them this grade. "Between a well maintained diet and plenty of exercise from Pokemon battling and, well, nowadays flying around with wings that Vivillion rightfully earned, Vivillion is the Pokemon you see before you. Isn't that right, Vivillion?" he spoke up, trying to look up at the bug, but with the bug clinging the way it was on Tristen's head, he couldn't really see the bug.

Once Tristen was finished explaining how they went about caring for and training Vivillon the teacher would break out into applause, standing up in mid clap. The class at large also began to clap, hestitantly at first as they really didn't understand why they were clapping but if Mr. Jacq was then maybe they should to. Fela didn't seem too sure herself as he kind of looked towards the ground. Vivillon was equally confused. After several seconds of clapping he spoke. "Stupendous work! Both of you! I am impressed with you both! The two of you truly put your heart and soul into raising that little Scatterbug and look at the fruits of your efforts! You bot should be very proud of yourselves, I certainly am!" He said, commending them. Fela would look back at the teacher and blush slightly before looking away. "And you Tristen, you even used your own Pokemon, a fellow Bug type, to facilitate in training and to aid Scatterbug into transitioning into its new life. I'm very impressed with you, even in spite of your absence!" He then commended Tristen in particular. "You as well, Fela! I'm sure Tristen was very thankful for you picking up the slack while he was unfortunately absent. You are not only a dutiful student but a good student and trainer!" He complimented the girl. "T-trainer...?" She mumbled to herself slightly, Tristen close enough to pick up on it. "Thank you, thank you sir." Fela would speak up, having shook herself from her focus on the word trainer. That was strange. "Well then, it should go without saying but you both receive an A plus as well as extra credit to apply towards your lowest grade! Again, I'm so proud of you both." He said, giving them one final clap. "Now please recall Vivillon and hand over its ball. Don't worry, you'll get to see it tomorrow." He said, reaching his hand out for the ball. In that moment both Fela and Vivillon would look towards Tristen, Vivillon stretching out and over from atop Tristen's head to look at him in the face. It wasn't fair he alone would be put on the spot like this but unfortunately he was. He knew what he had to do, had no choice in fact. Maybe he could explain things to Vivillon tomorrow.
