"Not a whole lot, Khai and I just found it in the back of the bookcase today. We needed weights to hold the blankets in place today. Isn't it neat? It tells all sorts of things about pirates." He pushed his dad's hand aside and started flipping through the book, looking for a particular page, passing parts speaking of women, rape, loot, and other things.
"See? The pirate steals the wrench and takes him back to his ship." Pointing again to a woman being yanked by the front of her dress with other men leering at her and then the captain gets to take her into his cabin. They lock the door and stay in there for a long time while the rest of the crew works. Then the Captain comes out and he laughs and tells them all to set sail, but you don't get to see her again, she stays in the cabin." Pointing to yet another picture before he went quiet. "I wonder what they do in there." Hey, dad might know, he was smart after all. "Do you know Daddy?" Blinking innocently curious eyes.

Well Arthur was now down in the arena by himself, fighting six combat fighters all at the same time, it was still difficult since there were six of them but by the time he was about seven minutes into it he was fairly doing alright in his position. Block, dodge attack, hit or miss then dodge again and barely miss getting sliced open, that was his regular pattern for this whenever Malik decides to set him up with more than one opponent, though every so often while using this pattern he would have to change it a little since the fighters were always able to pick out what he could do next.
The fighter he was focusing his attention on now had a staff that broke into three sections so it would be easier to block and attack whenever Arthur tried to get in for a close attack, but first he had to doge the blade on the end of the staff first. With a quick duck to the right the surface elf let the blade pass by his head for a second before he took a small leap towards the elf ahead of him with his katana ready to strike, when he got close enough he brought it forward but was quickly blocked by the end of the staff as his opponent easily drew back the un attached parts to use them in his defense.
But before Arthur could make his next move his ears twitched to the sound of something behind him and he quickly glanced over his shoulder to see another elf coming from above with his own sword drawn back over his head ready to strike him. Quickly Arthur let lose the pressure he had on the staff opponent and rolled quickly to the side as the elf came crashing down in the spot he use to be, missing his comrade by a few inches with his own blade. This caused enough confusion and some dust to be in the air that it allowed Arthur to counter attack, so quickly he slid his legs into a tripping move on the elf with the sword and with a twist he brought him to the ground then moving quickly he brought is hand down in a hand chop motion on the elf's neck which cause the man to lose his breath and drop his blade. Arthur's ears then twitched again and then he snapped his head sideways to avoid the butt end of the staff from hitting him in the back of his head, but he quickly grabbed one of the three pieces and using it as leverage he brought himself off the ground then twisted it around so he was close to the elf; then with his quick hand work he shoved the end of his handle hard into the elf's stomach which made the man let go of his weapon and with that Arthur slammed his free fist into his opponent's face.
Quickly he dropped the staff on the ground and turned his head fast enough to catch a glimpse of one of the other elves coming at him with two daggers, while another trailed with a bow staff. Sighing in frustration Arthur gripped his katana in both hands and charged both elves hoping to get in past their defensives fast enough.

"Hm." One of those little acknowleging noises of his, a look to the boy as he pushed his hands away and then took to flipping pages himself to a certain spot his little mind recalled. "Wench." If figured that those boys found these kinds of things...yeah just was an impressionable child needed.
Taking the book in one hand at his son's question, he snapped it shut and set it aside. "They do grown up things." And he was leaving it at that. "You don't need to be reading that one, you're too little and those are bad pirates anyway." There was a nice one.

"Because he's a surface elf, in a territory not designed for it. And, since he has been living here, and is part of our budding kingdom, he needs to be useful and pull his own weight. so I am going to train him to be a good fighter. and Sevilin is teaching him to control his magic."
So he set the chest, and his son, on a seat, and whistled loudly.
"That's enough. I think he is suitably warmed up."
Before walking down to teh arena floor, one hand resting on Malvolence's hilt.
"You've been getting much better. I think you've earned another shot."
Drawing Malvolence and letting the glowing pulse of the blade reflect in his eyes.
"Or, do you think you're not up to the task?"

That answer didn't suffice to a curious young elf. "What kinds of grown up things?" He'd thought they just played games which was why the captain came back out so happy but maybe not. Hmm, did his dad and Zara do grown up stuff in his room too? They went in there for a while sometimes though that was usually around bedtime so he figurd they probably weren't playing games. As his book was taken away, Zykariel frowned and shook his head, reaching for the book as his father moved it out of reach. "I am not too little! I can play pirates so how come I can't read about them? 'Sides Khai and I have a bad pirate too. He's gotta steal the wrench, I mean wench."

And he tilted his head. The whole surface elf thing didn't quite make sense to him yet, after all mommy was a surface elf and he himself was half surface elf, so why was Arthur being treated different because he was a surface elf? He figured though that if it was really important, daddy would tell him. But yay he got to watch. Thus as he was set down he stood right back up so he could make sure he got a good look.
A smile as he got the word finally but then half a frown as the child showed his displeasure over having his book taken away. "Because some books are for grown ups and some are for children. And you have a bad pirate that steals things, but does he kill too?" Knowing quite well that there was no dying in thier pirate games.

Arthur was just about to block one of the forward thrusts by the elf with the daggers when they all heard someone whistling loudly and they all knew what it meant so they just stopped in their tracks. Arthur took a nice deep breath as he rested the dull part of his katana on his shoulder blade while the other elves got up and left the arena, and now he finally knew what was up, Malik wanted to fight him today. When the blue drow came down onto the arena floor Arthur just watched the elf with a small glare as the man went on saying that he had been getting much better and now he has earned another shot at fighting him. With a small smirk Arthur grabbed his katana in both hands and got ready in a attack position. "Why ask? I've been waiting for you to say that for a long time Malik." He said with a chuckle and then in a spilt second he began his charge at the drow, this time he will not be the one waiting for things to start.

"You didn't answer my question." he pointedly reminded his father, then shook his head. "No, why would he kill? It's just a game." Finally he agreed to give up the fight over the book and stopped reaching for it. "But if you take that one away, Khai will be mad. We have to find another pirate book to replace it then." Thus he slipped back down and toddled over to the shelves to start looking at the books. He was pulling them off the shelves one by one, studying covers and tossing them aside to reach for another one. Pretty soon he had a pile of books around him and was frustrated. "Daddy! Would you come help me? I can't find one alone."

"Because that's what the bad pirates in this book do." Oh gods, the boy was making a mess...which he just couldn't stand. Getting up he first put the other book away on a higher shelf and then walked over to his son, putting a hand on his shoulder to get him to stop his book chucking. "There's an easier way to do that you know. If you have to look through books one by one like that, you'll be here all day. You see, most books are put together under the first letter of the word. Pirates, begins with 'P', so where do you look?"

Malik was patient and waiting, and the second he was in range, there was a clash of mithril and sparks, in a primary defensive stand and quite frankly stopping arthur in his tracks, and sliding off to teh side and taking a swip at his shoulder that turned and thrust down at his calf...then back into an offensive position, coming in hard and fast with swipes at teh arms, chest, and the occasionaly thrust forward...not giving arthur much time to breathe.

He was in the middle of pulling out another book and pushed it back into its place on the shelf. Turning his gaze up to meet his father's he thought about it for a moment and then said hesitantly. "With the other P's?" He looked confused for a moment and then it all of a sudden clicked. Oh wait, he knew what his father was getting at. He peered at those at the bottom and realized that he was at the bottom of the alphabet. So scanning titles, he started looking for another 'P' book.
After a few minutes of looking and muttering the alphabet under his breath just in case, he walked over and grabbed a chair, then started pushing it back over to the bookcase, where he then climbed up onto it and stood, still looking at books. "Necromancy...Organic spells....Potions..." He paused for a moment and then grinned and pointed to the shelf right in front of him. "There they are!" The shelf was right at his level with the added height of the chair. "Mr. Malik's got a lotta books. But where's the pirate book?"

Arthur knew that in his charging stance that he couldn't even be hopeful of striking Malik right off the bat, the man was really skilled with his sword and knew how to use it effectively, but still Arthur has been training well and maybe this time he had a good shot at beating him. But he was right on his first prediction with his attack, right when he was in range Malik defended himself easily with Malvolence in his hand, sparks flew as the noise of mythril hitting each other echoed through their ears, though Arthur was kind of surprised when the blue drow stopped him right in his attacked with his defense stance it must of allowed him to absorb the speed he used and transmit it to where ever he wanted it to go. Then Arthur blinked as he saw Malik at his side with his sword coming at his shoulder, the elf waited for a spilt second until he saw it turn down and head straight for his calf; Malik had done stuff like that the last time they fought so Arthur was expecting it and in a quick move he shifted his katana around so it blocked the blade from getting anywhere closer to him. But now the drow was on the offensive and the surface elf was now blocking multiple attacks coming at him and they were all aiming for upper body positions, so he was on the defensive block each attack to a good degree but he was waiting until Malik did a thrust forward, when the drow did that move Arthur ducked and did a sweeping motion to knock Malik off his feet, when the drow was off balance Arthur quickly got up and charged again and this time he was able to put Malik on the defensive by attack not just some upper areas of his body but he kept his lower half in check took with the occasional swipe down to his legs.

She smiled. "Anytihng of Aella's won't do any good. She won't be able to smell it, not even subconciously. She's lived with it since birth. She coudl enver pick it up. You'll need to try something out. For example, the smell of raspeberries or lilac is calming for me."
They then found Rusty, as Onyx called him. SHe bent a bit at the waist. "Hello Rusty, you seem to be in some discomfort. This manor is a safe place for you to recoperate." She looked at Moonstone. "What do you need?"
Moonstone shook his head at Rusty. "Just your name."
"Ah! Meilikki, hello. Just a blood infusion please."
They got closer, and Warren slowed the cloud down. Oh they must have looked silly...riding on a cloud. Oh well. "Oh, a few years I would expect by now, four? Five maybe? Course, they are elven. They will have matured faster."

He had learned a thing or two. Good. putting malik on defense was fine, and the swipes at his legs just got sidestepped, or for show the blade got kicked away. then a swipe got blocked, Malvolence transferred hands in a split second and crack, one blue fist in a plae face, followed by and elbow and then back to swinging that sword in practiced eased fashion...switching from the typical twohand-one hand styles to a more offensive, dancing style. every motion was ment to get a physical smack with a fist, knee, foot...if the blade didn't connect...then back between styles as easily as a fish swam through water.
