Kai curled against him, wrapping her arms around his neck again and nuzzling against his neck. She smiled and closed her eyes. If she were a cat, she probably would have purred. It seemed as though Hakaru was definitely distracted from the storm, she decided.

Hakaru smiled softly, watching her cuddle up close to him. He continued to stroke her hair and hum to her, completely forgetting it was even raining outside.

Kai looked up at Hakaru, her chin on his chest as she opened her eyes. She just smiled, then turned her head back, keeping her eyes open, though. She reached out for the bottom of his mess-up braid, and she pulled the band out, running her fingers gently through his hair and undoing the braid.

Hakaru relaxed some, feeling Kai undo his braid fully, letting his long red hair flow like a small river. He had his mother's hair that was for sure. And he wanted to keep it quite long. Caring for it was easy too, since it was so silky and thin.

Kai played with Hakaru's hair, braiding and unbraiding the ends and stroking the long, silky strands. She was glad she didn't have the watered-down appearance that had been the punishment given to her clan anymore. She'd have felt like an absolute ugly duckling next to Hakaru. She still kind of did...

Hakaru laid there with Kai, playing with her hair as well. But it was starting to put him to sleep. His mother usually messed with his hair to put him to sleep, and he was starting to drift off. Soon he was out cold on her bed, snoozing peacefully.

Kai smiled and closed her eyes after she realized Hakaru was asleep. For what had to be the millionth time that day, she fell asleep as well.
Damian walked down the hallway away from his brother's dorm. He'd gone to check on his brother once the rain had started, only to find the younger prince had seemingly vanished. He made his way upstairs to where his parents' room was and knocked on the door, wondering if Hakaru had gone up there.

Lunora was just pouring some tea for herself when she heard the knock on her door. She set the kettle down gently and got up to answer it since her husband was using her bath at the moment. The fox opened it to find her elder prince there. "Hello, Damian. What do you need, my son?"

"The storm was coming in, so I thought I'd check on Hakaru. He wasn't in his room, so I was wondering if he's here?" Even as Damian said that, he pretty much knew that his brother wasn't there. A frown started to turn down the corners of his mouth, and he wondered where his brother could possibly be. Nobody had seen him since breakfast, according to the other students.

Lunora could sense her son's worry. "I'm sorry, my son, but I haven't seen him all day." she said, rubbing the back of her head. "Maybe track down that mermaid. He might be with her."

"Alright," he said, if somewhat reluctantly. He nodded to his mother and thanked her, before heading back towards the stairs. He inhaled heavily, searching for the mermaid's scent and found it relatively easily. He soon found her dorm and knocked lightly on the door, then a little harder to be heard over the rain.

Hakaru, still blissfully out, didn't hear the knock, still cuddling with Kai. He was calmed by her ocean like scent and just her company was relaxing. He could get quite used to this.

Kai had long ago developed the ability to sleep without hearing a single thing. So, she continued to sleep, curled up against Hakaru.
Finally, Damian got fed up and just pushed open the door, glad to find it wasn't locked. He frowned and crossed his arms. There was no doubt about it: that was Hakaru. The mermaid was curled up in the younger prince's arms, and they were both fast asleep. Damn, he thought to himself as he left quietly. His face still hurt, after all.

Hakaru stayed asleep, starting to develop Kai's habit of not hearing anything while asleep.
Mina was jsut coming back from the library, yawning softly as she headed for her dorm for a nice nap. Everything was so sleepy today. Especially rain. Rain made her extra sleepy.

Damian continued down the hallway, staring down at the floor and not paying attention. At some point, he ran right into someone's back, and he managed to catch his balance. He realized that someone was a girl, and he reached out, catching her around the waist and stopping her from falling. "Sorry about that<" he said.
