Malik's fingers pinched the bridge of his nose in that 'dear Innoruuk, which is the lesser of two evils' look he got when he was about to contradict her on something she was adamant about.
"Bring him back."
a servant fetched the perturbed necromancer and malik had him stand back in line.
"The object is to give our son a fair choice of paths to choose from in this area. which means I can't be an option for teaching him necromancy. because the second I am placed as a potential teacher, we know he'll jump on that before even hearing what the other choices are."
Perfectly logical.
"It woudl be as if we gave him a choice to learn to shoot an arrow, and his two teaching options where you with your Trueshot and a tier'dal with a crossbow. he woudln't even look at that Tier'dal the second you became a choice."
Though a finger raised before she could argue.
"If he chooses a necromantic path, I will take over primary teaching except for the areas that my knowledge is limited in, agreed?"

It was amusing at first that he indeed was stuck between a rock and a hard place but she merely gave one of her exasperated sighs as he brought back the necromancer...whom she had decided that she still wasn't going to like...and put him back in line then went about pointing things out in that way they often did to each other. "This is true, but I bet I could curve that with a very nasty negative 'you're not old enough to handle it in these aspects' rendition of the art. And of course he would choose a hand drawn bow over a self drawn, what's the fun and challenge in one of those?" Contradicting just because she felt the need to and then merely crossed her arms and one of her 'you win' sighs. There were some things she just knew she couldn't win with that man. "Fine, he can stay on." A look to the necromancer. "But just remember, I don't like you and you're dealing with my son. You don't get more than one chance. You may be a big shot in the basement, but you're on my level now, welcome." There was some bravery for you, after all if was not a smart idea for any surface elf to be short worded, demanding and lordful over a tier'dal. Got you killed nine times out of ten.

Zahara really wasn't connecting that Arthur was upset. She was blissfully unaware of what was going on inside his mind and if he didn't speak of it, well how was she supposed to know. She did notice he seemd more withdrawn than normal but shrugged it off as he needed his space and really wasn't looking forward to being around Malik. Worked for her, half the time she didn't want to be around Malik. Tugging lightly on the zephmares lead rope, she nodded. "Alright. Just make sure you take that. It will help, I promise." Then she mounted up on the zephmare and rode away, whistling to Faete who materialized and followed behind her. She stabled both horses in Piper's stable then walked inside and headed for the dining room. The place where business took place. Logging a few things away, she subtracted the steel, she'd eventually worn it down to a thousand steel with the promise of a bonus perk. Where was everyone anyway?
Zykariel nodded and helped his friend knock down the city then rebuild it and do it all over again. Ah the games of children. "Aren't you s'posed to be learning stuff soon?"

"Supposed to be." He plopped down on the floor and pet at Rawr's head before handing him back to his friend, seeing as it was his turn as Malikhai took to picking up blocks around his person and stacking them in no particular fashion what so ever. "But mom and dad get distracted a lot too." Things didn't always work out as planned sometimes.

Once Arthur closed the door behind him a large sigh escaped his mouth as he leaned against the door and banged his head against it a few times, did Zahara actually sleep with that other drow and why did she? Was it for the zephmare? These questions and some more were bugging Arthur's mind to no end, so silently he pulled away from the door and walked towards a couch in his living room and sat down on it. He was staring at the vial in his hands and the kind words that the drow told him when she handed it to him, yeah she was caring then but did she even think about what she was doing when she slept with that drow? Well Arthur couldn't say that she did he hadn't seen actually sleeping with that man, so what was he suppose to think then? With a small sigh Arthur stood up and went to the bathroom that was in his room, once he reached the sink he opened the vial and dumped the contents down the drain so it looked like he actually used it then put the lid back on and washed the skin with water just incase there was any left. As he placed the lid back on the vial he wandered over to his bed and placed it on his night stand then laid down with a soft sigh as he tried to put all of those thoughts out of his head.

"Alright then, we'e all set. we can bring him down and see how it goes if you want to 'Chev. Unless you have anything else you'd like to discuss or bring up?"
The necromancer didn't even blink at her talk. as if she was something that just needed to be ignored until it went away. the other three took to the waiting game, mostly moving around and kinda of marking thier own territories in the arena between eachother for ample space to demonstrate thier schools of magic to the best effect.

She made a noise and a dismissive wave of her hand. Was she happy about effectively lossing? No no she wasn't, but she wasn't going to whine about it just go with it. Some things she wasn't going to win at all and just didn't feel the gumption to try. "I said I was done." Yes, would have to go upstairs and fetch the son so he could go about that independent stage where he made all of his decisions himself...wasn't it cute?

Zahara finished logging things away in the book, recrossed the geneaology and then slapped the books shut. Arthur's despondency was bothering her slightly, he'd mentioned something wrong with his stomach but she had a feeling it went deeper than that. She got up and walked into the bathroom, splashing cool water on her face and neck to combat the sweat that had appeared from the exertion she'd put herself through. Then for some reason far removed from her mind, she walked to the library. Maybe it was because she knew if Sevilin was around that's where he would be and maybe it was because she felt the need to read. Who really knew? But there he was, as usual, nose in a book and she leaned against the doorframe, crossing her arms, her head resting against the jamb. "How much do you know about surface elves?"
"Maybe they forgot?" he shrugged lightly and began rebuilding the city again before knocking it down and sighing. "Well if you're not let's go outside and play. Rawr doesn't want to knock down buildings anymore. His voice is hoarse and his neck hurts."

"Alright, lets go get him, and we'll see how this plays out."
A nod to his wife and a lean over and kiss on the cheek, with a little bit of groping before walking with her back towards the upstairs area to get thier son.

A look up from the books he habitually took to when he knew he needed to let his son have his own time with his friend, and had nothing else better to do. "A bit. After all, if that's what you're trained to deal with for years, have to know something. Why?"
"Daddy doesn't like me to go outside alone." Moving his foot so it knocked over a nearby block tower and littered the already block littered floor with more of the pieces. "We need a grown up." Then a blink and a look to his friend. "How come Rawr only talks to you?"
Oh look random bits of affection to try and get back on her good side a bit. But oh she knew this was going to be like it was with Sevilin. Drow thinking that he had no reason to answer to her at all, oh but how different that would be. Bring on the lightining and thunder affects everytime that those two were in the same room and Gods help that necromancer if anything happened to Malikhai. "Hopefully with little complication." Of course once back on the main level she took a moment to locate thier son, heading up to the nursery with Malik in tow. "Well well, look who's with you. When did you get here Zykariel?" Meant that Sevilin was around somewhere too.

She frowned slightly, thinking it over a bit. He probably wouldn't know, it probably wouldn't be something that she was likely to get an answer to. But it couldnt' hurt to try right? "Do they tend to get upset over silly things? I mean really silly things?"
Zykariel shrugged, "He's just shy. I tell him my secrets so he tells me his. He doesn't trust anyone else, I guess." He looked around and grinned at Piper. "Hi Miss Piper." His little face screwed up a bit as he thought and then he answered. "A little while ago. Daddy brought me 'cause Zara had stuff to do." He went quiet seeing Malik appear behind her and turned back around, messing with the blocks. He was about to lose Malikhai.

He gave a rather snickering chuckle. "Sometimes I think that's their only purpose in the worlds. To get upset over little silly things that are stupid and a waste of time to get upset over. They just do for some reason." Yes, he was speaking of Piper in that same breath even if he mentioned no names. He had watched that woman get upset over some of the littlest things since she had that son of hers.
A frown. "But I trust him." He felt a little left out between the little drow and his stuffed animal. Ah early jealousy. But then he brightened a little at the sound of his mother's voice. Hey look! They hadn't gotten sidetracked into something else and forgot about him and his treat. Well that was exciting. "Do I get my treat now?" And then a look back to his friend...well who was Zykariel going to play with? "Can Zy come too?"
"Yes you get your treat now.." Briefly she thought about telling him to clean up their blocks but decided against it and she could always make him do it later, that was if someone else didn't beat the boy to it. Then her look went back to Zykariel. "I suppose he can come if he wants to and if it's okay with Sevilin." After all, it probably wasn't right of her to expose Sevilin's son to things that would entice the child to want to try as well without regards to how Sevilin felt about it. She dare say her and Sevilin shared the same streak of perhaps overprotectiveness of their children.

"First things. if your both coming, there are certain rules that must be followed. There is no horseplay downstairs..no running off or anything like that. it's dangerous for you to do that kind of thing down there. And if you want to come back upstairs, you have to get an adult to go with you, preferably myself or Piper, but if we need to Broog can escort you."
Looking seriously at both of them.
"and what you see, and what you hear, and what you learn, doesn't leave downstairs. I do a lot of my work down there, and I don't want somethings known outside of certain people, alright? and if Sevilin lets you pratice magic with Malikhai, Zykarial...it's only downstairs. Magic is very volitale...and we don't want any serious injuries or dangerous accidents, now do we."
a moment for that to sink in a bit too.
"And Malikhai, clean up the nursery, and Zykariel, you go talk to your father about permission. you'll probably find him in the library. should take you about the same amount of time, then everyone can all go if we're all allowed downstairs."

That wasn't really the answer she wanted and her frown got a bit bigger. "This isn't really the time to be funny Sevilin." She walked into the room and plopped down next to him, sighing. "What do you know about Vesendar?"
Zykariel was idly stacking two blocks on top of each other and knocking them down alternately before he glanced at Malikhai and blinked. He wanted him to come? He held his breath for a moment waiting for Miss Piper to say no but she didn't. "I don't have to if you don't want me to..." Yes he was used to being in the way and he didn't like being an obligation or forcing himself on anyone. He was enough of one to Zara. But then Malik started talking and Zykariel just studied his hands. Looking up he nodded and quickly exited the room, coming downstairs and into the library. Zara was talking though so he waited patiently for her to be done and cleared his throat, rocking on his heels. "Sorry to interrupt but Mr. Malik told me to come ask if it was okay if I learned magic stuff with Malikhai downstairs. Can I?"
Zahara studied the boy closely. Why was Malik teaching magic to them already? Sure they were probably old enough to start but she'd always thought Sevilin would teach him that stuff.

"Horseplay is for horses and we're elves." Oh how many times had he heard that one? He leaned over to Zykariel. "Daddy works down there, it's not a place for little kids." A nod of his head, yes he had learned that lesson well now hadn't he? Yes, very well. A shake of his head, "I don't mind it you come." And then his look went back to his father and he got that little almost annoyed look as he was told to clean up the nursery and he looked to the blocks scattered around.
With a little sigh he then got himself up and took to picking up blocks and any other random play things that they had pulled out, picking up armfulls and dumping them in thier respective box so that the floor was clean, then a walk over to Ashlyn giving the sleeping playmate a pet, a final look over the room and then running over to his parents. "I'm ready!"
Looked like Malik had to give a reminder of the basement rules, and then also a reinforcement on keeping things tidy. He wasn't going to let it slide. Of course she didn't contradict him on that...it was rather important that they didn't undermine each other when it came to telling him to do things. After all there were plenty of days that were reversed and Malik let him get away with just about anything. But a smile to him as he announced he was done and she patted him on the head. "Good job, let's head downstairs then."
"Wasn't trying to be funny." A blink at her, seemed she had her feathers a little ruffled over something. But he wasn't going to ask about that, may get himself ranted at for an hour straight. "Vesendar?" He looked away a moment as if recalling information. Ah, Vesendar. "I've...heard of it a little. Seems to be almost a little drow territory...though the drow are more calm in thier ways. Haven't been there myself...you have to cross the water to the east of the peninsula and I don't cross water." Or at least he tried not to. "Just heard what's in the rumor mill really."
Then his attention turned to Zykariel as the little elf toddled in and waited patiently then spoke his mind. To which Sevilin gave a raised eyebrow at him. Well that was unexpected, he hadn't really expected Malik to take to that kind of thing at all. "Magic stuff huh? I'll tell you what, you go with him and find out what kinds of things he's going to learn and then you can come back and tell me. Next time he goes to his classes, maybe you can particpate too, okay?" Hey Zykariel was a powerhouse of the stuff and Sevilin was going to be very careful about the boy's powers. A wrong move could be disaterous.
