Malik watched piper leave, and looked back at the two Vah.
"her father? he's alive? then how in the world did she get into my possession? I mean Cymarron of our world wouldn't let me walk three hundred feet near you two. how did we manage to take her? Not to mention your mother, obviously a conduit here as well."
Onyx glared at him.
"According to her, you came and killed her mother while her father was hunting. which means the Cymarron of this world is guning for you too. and you deserve it. you were a b*****d before, and seems you were a b*****d here too."
"Yes yes. been through this. So another enemy comes to the picture. we'll I'll deal with that when and if we get through this. "

She whipped her nose on her tunic dress and nodded. She didn't want to go, but with such sad attitudes alla round,s he couldn't get the energy to argue. "When I come back, everyone is still gonna be alive, right?" She gave those large puppy dog eyes...they awlays worked...
Moonstone nodded. "Simon. We are hoping that we can...convince him of our sincerity before he tried to kill us." How odd it would be...they were going to meat Cymarron as a human being...it was eerie.

"I promise you that everyone will be alive. And Elves always keep their promises." He set Bode on Nerian's back, making sure her hands were holding tight to his black mane...couldn't have her use reins or Nerian wouldn't be able to do what he needed. Now you hold on tight and don't' let go okay? Nerian will take care of you and if we need to find you Serino can tell us where you two are." A pat to Nerian's nose again, scratching between his ears. "Vee' i' sul Nerian." And that horse got a slap on the flank, sending him into a gallop that lasted about three seconds before he shimmered and faded from view. Well, Bode would get to know what it felt like to be wind and free as it, that was for sure, but now he looked back to his daughter. "I don't want you fighting in this thing he's planning."
"Then you wish me to sit back in the fortress and watch what goes on in the world around me. Then I guess when he dies I can cry my eyes out and then just go back home with you and all. After all, without Malik life for me isn't looking too peachy." She crossed her arms.
Kieran was actually quite taken aback at her little burst of anger. "That is not what I said. I am merely concerned...you're my only daughter and I've lost you once and now I may loose you again. I'm trying to protect you and if that means bricking you up someplace then by Corellon I will."
"Don't be like mother! Don't take away what she denied and you gave me! I know what I'm doing! I've been safe thus far, Malik has always kept me safe he-"
"He can not be watching you every moment in battle, Piper Silverfeather! And what happens if something happens to you? I've been there with your mother Piper...your head is no longer on the task at hand, all you can think about it getting to your other." He stared at her a long moment. "And if something were to happen to him...you would do it too. Those in love who fight side by side often fight unfocused."
Well that quieted her and her shouting at him...he had made his point perfectly clear. Not to mention she couldn't deny it...the tournament had proved her point. She had told Malik to keep his head in the game and not to worry about her. Yet he had been vigilant enough to notice Terran hadn't he? "But...I can't let him do this without me...I can't sit idly by...it's my fault we're here. Think of it as penance for my mistake, for making him wander across the planes to sate my wanderlust. We've been through bad before...this is just worse."
He stepped over to her and took her by the shoulders. "Then you have a choice to make about this...sit out safe or fight by him. Now you know your consequences to your actions, hypothetical as they may be. I don't want to loose you permanently. Amin mela lle, amin tinu." He pulled her into a hug and pressed a kiss to her forehead before he let her go, making his way back inside and upstairs...he needed a reverie to clear his mind.
Piper just stood there for a moment. Why did he always had to be damn right...then again that was a parent's job now wasn't it? To sometimes keep their children from making stupid mistakes and sometimes letting them find out on their own. A few moments of standing there just staring off across the land before she turned as well, heading inside, going back to join the others. Damn him and his points...

Onyx nodded lightly, snortign and left, walkign back to the room prepared for them. So now they were commanders in a war. a war between Malik and Dimitri, sparked by a Drow captian. He stared out a window..and sighed lightly. what had become of whirlwind and ironsides? he wanted to know. and it coudln't hurt to try. a flare of demonic energy..not exactly magic..it took a lot to do it too. and a little wisp of red enrgy flew from Malik's home, heading to teh Salamader's whip, seeking the spiritual signature of Whirlwind. if only to verify she was alive. then of course, it's next task was to find Ironsides. provided nothing stopped it.
Malik saw Keiran come back in, and shortly after, Piper. he laid his hand on Piper's arm lightly.
"Stay and talk with me, please piper?"
He sat down, idly running his hand through his hair. for once he actually looked alot older. like a human might if they'd lived so long.
"I know I'm asking alot here, of everyone. and I know that you probably would rather we just find someplace else to live then get involved in a war. But I want to find a place to settle down in. a place that you and I, in due time, coudl have children in and raise them. and so far, this is the best home we've found, other then the one we left so many years ago."

Stay she did, as she watched him a moment, standing there next to his chair with her hands clasped together, listening to him. Though as he talked Piper took on the look of being guilty and the table became really interesting for her eyes seemed to get glued to it. "I'm sorry Malik...I know I've made you wander around a lot...either through me getting itchy to move on in one place or through a blunder like the one that got us here." He was serious about this wasn't he? Though from his look and talk it was easy to tell that this wasn't the first time the subject had popped up in his head. How long had it been now? Twenty years? How long ago had he gotten tired of it. With a sigh she looked back to him and reached her hand out to touch to his cheek to gain his full attention. Piper gave Malik a smile, tilting her head to the side lightly. "You want to stay here Malik? Make this truly home and this place be where we start us and ours?" A brief pause. "Then I'm done...No more wandering around." She would easily give up her wanderlust to please him....and her surface world if that may be the case.

"It's not that..really. I don't want to take away from you what makes you happy..I just want a home that I know we'll come back to. I don't want to leave it behind and never see this one again."
His eyes looked up at hers, and he took her hand in both of his.
"I want a place where you and I...where we can really bond. a place that we don't have to leave anymore. a place you want to stay. but I'm not going to chain you to the darkness here because I want it. I want you to want to be here. and I want it to be safe for our children to grow up. and like it or not, it's never going to be with Dimitri ruling Deepwater."
he sighed lightly.
"There's so many things still to do. so many intentions, so many words to say, things to feel adn hear. and now I'm risking all that might ever be so that my children, if we have any..can have at least one home to stay in that's safe. safe from a slaving tyrant, and hopefully will remain safe from other Drow."

She shook her head. "No I mean it. No more wanderlust running everything. You can't take away from what makes me happy...because it's not the wanderlust, it's not the places or anything...you are what makes me happy. You've put aside a lot for me, now it's my turn." Then she got a little more serious looking and moved to be sitting in his lap, straddling his lap so that she could look at him and he wouldn't have to worry about her falling out of the chair. "I think about the years I've spent wandering...I'd like to take them back and give them to you. It's about time I grew up anyway..." A brief pause with a sigh, closing her eyes a moment before looking back to him. "Love...you're not chaining me either...let's face it Malik...I don't belong up there anymore...allowed to visit yes, but live, no...you've been there, you understand. And I want to be with you...if down here be the only place I can, then so be it. It doesn't matter where I am as long as I have you. I love you and that's more than anything else." Besides she knew the reality of it all, a surface elf bonded to a drow was an act of traitor-ism and not tolerated, not to mention she had been underground so long now...how would her eyes react to surface light? "And when we do have children...they'll have enough to pay from their parents' own mistakes and choices...you just want to get rid of anything else that may want them to pay to." And then another one of those soft smiles to him, the gold in her eyes flicking softly. "It's a risk well worth taking Malik. The downfall of Dimitri, the rise of the surface world of this plane...I think that would be a fine place to make home."

He listened to her, his hands placed on the small of her back, watching her eyes, hearing her words, and just brought her agasint him in a warm embrace, holding her tight and rocking her lightly. She was right though, he knew. the surface wasn't her home anymore really. not with him. traitor to her race is how the others would see her. But he wasn't going to take away her trees, her green grass, the blue sky and the sun.
"Then we'll defend our home. Your bow and my sword."
He gave her gentle kiss, tender and loving, and ran his hand through her hair.
"you mean everything to me Piper. everything."

Bode swallowed, much to terrified that the nice man was lying to say anything. She didn't want come back and find everyone dead....she had lost too much already. Perhaps because of this, the wonderful experiance of riding the wind horse was not fully appreciated.
Suddenly, Bode was no longer with her good freinds Piper and her daddy. She had become nothing, a wisp of though carried with the breeze that was Nerian.
Moonstone watched his brother leave, he may have followed, but Onyx's shoulders had a slump that spoke of issues best solved alone. Any failure had been taken a toll on Onyx, whether it was leaving his favorite fur out in the rain, or forgeting Mother's birthday. Others might not see it, but Moonstone had lived with him from the moment of conception. He knew. Moon doubted his brother felt like he was letting others down, he rarely seemed to care what Mother and Father thought, but rather himself. He was Vah, he was strong, he was privilaged, he was above primal instinct....right?

She smiled, bringing her hands to frame his face as she gazed at him softly for a brief moment feeling that bond between them as if it truly were tangible and that was a far greater feeling than anything that could possibly be expressed. Lacing her arms around his neck she pulled close to him and laid her head to the crook of his neck and gave a soft nod. "They can have the world Malik...we'll create our own. Just you and me...with a bond between ones never meant to be...we can take on anyone my love." Besides...maybe here once things were set in motion, she wouldn't have to think about being split between two worlds...and even then if she had to, she would still choose the one that held Malik. It was a nice quiet little moment...no need to worry about anything there in Malik's hold.
A breath of wind signaled a stop in his own travel. Bode was sitting on the ground now at Nerian's front hooves, the Zephyr having his head bowed over and nibbling affectionately at her tunic dress in a form of comfort. They were on obviously high ground, far above the land below...one could almost see the whole of the place. He needed rest and Bode probably did to, and right now, this was a safe place. Of course he laid himself down next to Bode in a protective gesture, nuzzling at her again. Yes, he'd keep her safe...even if he was just as scared too.

It was like waking up from a silent dream. Bode petted the Zephyr's nose when he got close enough, and when he laid down she snuggled right up to him. She as quite frightened, and was shivering. She felt like she was suddenly and completely alone...except for the staillion of course. She spoke to the horse, if nothing more than to break the eerie quite of the high ground. "You're frightened too, right Mr. Nerian? Are you afraid for Piper's Daddy?"

Nerian simply nuzzled her gently, making little soothing noises like any other horse to her. Bode would feel little wisps of wind around her, little little tendrils curing around her and tickling at her, playing with her hair. Of course this meant that Nerian was speaking to her in his own language...but not many outside the Andal plane could understand the nicknamed 'wind babble'. So he took a more gestured approach, nodding his head to her, ears lowering a bit and a scared little nicker from him, followed by another nuzzle to Bode. After all, Kieran was his friend and he loved the elf, mostly because the elf loved him back even when he was a coward most times.

Bode smiled a bit. She had always been good with animals, her Mommy used to say cause even animals thought she was cute, but this wasn't like that. The horse understood her, kinda like Ironsides had, and in a way she understood the Zephyr. The wind felt neat, and helped to cheer her up a bit.
"Mr. Piper's Dady said everyone was gonna live, and that he didn't break promisses. I really, really hope he doesn't ahve to break it." She didn't like tlaking about it though. It made her sad, so in an effort to keep the half smile, she changed the subject. "I have two brothers now, Mr. Nerian. I never had any before. Do you have brothers? I don't understand why they are my brothers, but they are and I like that. Having family feels good. Piper is part of your family, right?"

A elf break a promise? Nerian thought that unheard of really...well for the few exceptions and those elves weren't that fun to be around with anyway...couldn't trust them. Even drow had their words to keep. Resting his nose on her knee he gave a soft snort to her as she talked to him, both giving each other comfort. Yes, he had a brother. He was actually reverse of him in color as well as attitude. His brother still ran the Andal planes as preferred to being an elven companion. Then a twitch of his ears to Bode and another n** at her tunic dress. Piper was indeed a part of his family...he had been with Kieran since the elf himself was a boy and he watched Piper grow up...he was her first lesson mount too.

She giggled a bit. She didn't understand everything of course, but she could guess well enough. She tugged a bit at her dress. "Yeah, Mrs. Piper is nice. Nothing like the old Piper that killed my Mommy. Does Mr. Nerian know how Mrs. Piper lost half of her ear? I always wondered, but I enver asked. Mommy always said it was rude to point out things people probably didn't want to tlak about. Mommy was really smart, she knew lots about people and what they were feeling."
"Do wind horses miss their families? Do you visit your Mommy and Daddy?
