Hakaru looked to Kai as she woke and smiled, going over to her. He gently moved her hair behind her ear before kissing her sweetly. "I'm not bothered by anything as long as I'm with you." he said softly, kissing her forehead an nestling up to her.

Kai smiled, touching Hakaru's cheek. "I'm glad I'm not the only one," she said, cuddling against Hakaru, as well. "I love you," she whispered, not in another language this time.

Hakaru smiled and wrapped his arms around her, relaxing against her. "I love you too." he murmured, only subtly flinching at a large clap of thunder.

Kai rubbed Hakaru's shoulder, frowning. She didn't want to mention it, but she could tell the thunder had definitely bothered him. She put her arms around his neck and nuzzled against his neck, hoping to distract him from the storm.

Hakaru remained next to Kai, nuzzling her neck in return, giving it a very light kiss before kissing her soft lips once more, also trying to distract himself from that storm that was picking up outside.

Kai shuddered a little at the light feeling of Hakaru's lips on her neck, and returned his kiss, pressing harder to occupy his mind. She tangled her fingers in his hair, gluing them together.

Hakaru returned the kiss, his mind fully engrossing itself in the kiss. He gently strung his arms around her, tangling his own fingers into her hair, keeping them together.

Kai tentatively ran one hand down his neck and over his shoulder to rest on his chest, over his heart. Feeling his pulse on the tips of her fingers, she let the kiss take over. She pulled herself into Hakaru's lap slowly, nuzzling against him as she kissed him harder.

Hakaru kept the kiss, mimicking the effort Kai was putting into it. He wrapped his arms around Kai more, feeling her slide onto his lap, bringing them ever closer.

Though Kai was no stranger to kissing, everything about this kiss felt new to her. She felt feverish and flushed, but even the thought of pulling away from Hakaru's warmth made her feel cold and shivery. Though her lungs protested, she refused to break contact with the prince, holding on to him.

Hakaru also felt the jolt of unfamiliarity, but he kept it up as well. The thought of stopping for air was lined with her leaving him forever, never to hold such a kiss with her again. So he stayed with her, kissing deeply and passionately, though he started to feel his face flush.

Finally, Kai felt her head start to swim and her eyes start to water. She could also feel Hakaru's flushed face, and she finally removed her lips from his, breathing heavy breaths into his lungs. However, she couldn't pull herself away anymore. She rested her lips on his cheek, then the other cheek, then his forehead, being able to breath and still touch him.

Hakaru panted hard as well when the kiss broke but he smiled some, feeling her against his face. He gently took a hold of her chin and made her look at him without touching him. "Kai. I'm not going anywhere. I'll always be right here." he said softly, in an effort to calm her.

Kai swallowed, being forced to look up at Hakaru. She was glad to have him, and to be told that he'd always be there. She wasn't sure she could last long in his world without him. She'd taken a chance, back when the Queen had offered her a place, not only back in the ocean, but in the court. She'd thought about the offer, but finally told the Queen that she belonged on land. It scared her, but she'd done it for Hakaru.

Hakaru smiled some, placing a gentle kiss on her cheek before leaning back against her headboard, pulling her with him so she laid on his chest. He pulled a blanket over them and began to stroke her long red hair, humming to her softly to help her relax.
