WickedCabbage
I would rather be compared to the likes of Einstein, Shakespeare, Oprah, Asparagus or the Three Stooges.
Actually ANYONE who is known for something they have done and not how well formed their body happens to be.

Heyyyy Cabbage! I haven't smelled you around here in a while! 4laugh

You do know that Asparagus hasn't done anything important and is only liked for its well formed and sleek body, right?

::sigh:: Spent my morning at the dentist, didn't get good news. I lost a filling awhile back, and over the last month it's finally started to hurt. So my dad (bless my father, he's wonderful) had my mom make me an appointment at my childhood dentist to get it fixed. Went in this morning thinking all he was going to do was slap a filling in it and send me on my way. WRONG!! He told me the only 2 ways to fix it was an extraction, or a root canal, but he did put a temporary filling in it to get me out of pain. Since my dad is footing the bill, they called and asked what he wanted done, and he said the root canal. So, in July I go back to have it done, and dad is going to foot the bill for that too. Thank God, because after thats done, then the crown its going to cost almost 1500$ that I dont have. Never had any major dental work done, so Im a bit apprehensive about it gonk

*hugs* that's some of the worst pain too!

I've never had a root canal, but i hear they do it in 3 visits about 2 weeks apart (cuz I have to get one eventually too) I hear it's painful...but the same person I heard this from said the deep cleaning was super painful and it didn't hurt me at all...just the pain in the beginning when they shot me up (i hate those needles)

yall sitting here talking about dentists and i have to go tomorrow to get another one pulled....butterfly is very ashamed of not taking better care of her teeth...i do know that after this one i will have to have another one pulled cause some of the enamel is off of it...but i have a lot of fillings that need to be done too... sweatdrop

I asked my dad, because he has had several. And he said its no big deal, its just a very long procedure, and your jaw does hurt from holding it open for so long. but after its done there is nothing to worry about because those nerves are dead. He made me feel better about it, but Im still kinda nervous.

i feel for you, there's something going on with one of my back teeth, when i clean the front of it it gives me a nasty shuddery feeling sometimes, and i know i need to go and have a check up but i don't want to, i've never had any work done on my teeth so it's doubly nerve wracking for me gonk

you dont have a bad cavity there do you? cause the way it sounds is that you have a nerve exposed...and dont feel bad hun...no matter how many times you go to the dentist even for a cleaning..it is a nerve racking thing....

can not hear any kenny g music cause it makes my teeth hurt...oh my gonk

Eeek, Jess, I'm so sorry about the bad news for your filling that fell out a while ago! Root Canal does sound like a better option than extraction to me. I'm so glad your dad is helping out financially and emotional-support wise though. And Butterfly, good luck at the dentist tomorrow! Poppy, when your back tooth hurts, is it was up high near the gums? And when you scratch right there, does it hit the nerve and hurt a lot? Because if so, that's what Jason and I have, and it's not a big deal and doesn't require fillings or anything. It's just gum lines receding and exposing the sensitive root of the tooth, and you can rub sensodine on it at bedtime and try to build the enamel back up. If that's now that it is, then.. uh, I don't know!

Thanks, I do appreciate it. I'd say that I'm getting used to this, but even with as many friends as I've lost, it never really does get easier.

It might even be harder, having lost before and losing again. So this has happened before, Colin? I'd get depressed, thinking I'm destined to have all my friends leave me. neutral
