Hm, he thought he was getting tired of chicken too. Oh well, he would deal. It wasn't like he really cared too much, point was that it was food and good food at that. Sure, he had learned to cook a little bit but if for the most part was still an art completely lost on him. But he merely made a noise of affirmation at her before being handed plates and he took to setting them on the table beofore Zykariel came down and joined him in the little task.
Then of course getting glasses from where she kept them and set them on the table as well. "Are you having wine tonight Zahara?" Because she usually did. Wine for Zahara, milk for Zykariel, and Sevilin usually just had water or whatever someone else gave him, maybe half a glass of wine on occassion. And then a look to his son. "Rawr's not joining us?" Before a look to the table at Nym who was eyeing a napkin ring. "Don't you even think about it."

Zykariel went around the table settind down folded napkins and forks and then shook his head. "No, Rawr ate too many cookies. He ruined his dinner so he's staying upstairs."
"Wine for me. Half a glass if you don't mind." Zahara clucked in disapproval. "That's never a good thing. Too many cookies will do that though. You didn't have too many cookies did you?" She wiped her hands on a towel and pulled the now cooked chicken from the oven setting it on a burner to cool for a moment while she poured hte mixed veggies into a bowl and brought that to the table.
"No. I only had this many." Holding up his hand with all but one of his fingers up. "I would have had five but I gave one to Nym so he wouldn't feel left out. Ashlyn got some too from Khai." He said by way of explanation as he pulled back his own chair and climbed up in it, sitting on his knees so he could reache the table and food.
"Well that's good." She put a piece of chicken on his plate and hten went about cutting it up into little pieces so he wouldn't choke, then put some veggies on his plate as well.
He scrutinized the veggies. "There's no yellow right Zara?"
"Right." Because for some reason that boy didn't like corn. "Lots of green, a bit of orange, but no yellow. I remembered." Ruffling his hair as she walked back to her own chair and settled down.

Rawr of course being a little toy that he had gained in his infancy, a little stuffed dragon that he just loved to death. Comfort object if you will. But he gave a ruffle to the boy's hair as he made his way to get drinks for all of them, giving each to whomever asked for it and then sat in his own seat and filling his own plate. Ah dinner it was a good thing.
Though a chuckle at the mention of yellow...that would be Zykariel's dislike of corn which turned into anything yellow. And cheese was not yellow, it was light orange as he had so been informed by the boy. "Don't feed Nym too many cookies either, he'll get sick." Said of course as he was cutting a few pieces of chicken and vegetables for Nym, who yes ate at the table with them. His own little plate and everything because Zahara didn't want him eating off the table.
Of course this was how things went every night. Seperate day lives and then dinner was a group affair. After dinner, Zykariel would be let to go play for maybe a half hour or so more, depending on if he needed a bath or not that night of course, and Sevilin and Zahara would clean up the kitchen and do the dishes before Sevilin would put Zykariel down and hopefully the boy could relax himself into reverie...getting little elves to reverie...not an easy task seeing as they couldn't control it so young. Then him and Zahara would stay up for a few hours more, maybe spend the time together or seperate depending on moods and such and then would either retire to thier own rooms, or Zahara would occassionally sleep in his bed. "So, what are your plans then for the night?" Asked because she didn't spend everynight in that house and he liked to know what nights she was walking in and out of the place for his own personal paranoia reasons.

Dinner was finished up and they were cleaning up when he asked the question. She paused in the act of clearing the table and shook her head. "I hadn't really thought about it though I don't think I'm going back out tonight. I just don't feel like crossing the Underdark again right now." And that's what she would have to do to see Arthur. So Arthur was out for this evening, but he knew that she came when she wanted to come. She picked up the rest of the plates and brought them over to Sevilin so he could be his a**l self and scrub them clean, then picked up a rag and began to scrub down the spot Zykariel had been in. That boy, always making the biggest mess he could. She glanced down at the plate for a moment and then back up at him. "Come to think of it, I kind of need to reverie with someone tonight. Just don't want to be alone." She was feeling that need for comfort, just a warm body to be against and two masculine arms wrapped around her. Yup, that would be perfect.

The orcs where damned. damned by assuming, incorrectly that the bulk of the infamous drow captian's crew were gone with said captian's presence. obviously they fought for someone else now. but the Orcs rallied, and held position. they had a trump card, adn they were damn well going to use it. they gathered in the bloodiest place they coudl gather at and hold ground. and they all started chanting. all of them, calling on sky father. if they were going to die, they were going to seriously hurt or destory this place with them. Malik's own followers adn himself, drew on necromancy and hate. and Hate was what these orcs were using to fuel this last desperation move. some of course were quietly slipping away, like the emperor himself..but more than enough were there to keep attention. dead bodies, broken spears and armoer, shattered arrows and swords. all gathered under what was becoming a sucidal assault. Orcs couldn't harness magic easily. shamans called on the power and it worked through them, but they didn't try to harness it.
These did. and the result, was a massive explosion of blood, bone, adn metal. they had turned themselves into a walking legion sized shrapnel bomb.
Blood sprayed, pieces of bone went flying, adn metal. broken peices of those fallen weapons. arrowheads, sword peices, axe handles..everything under them in a concussive explosion.
the Purian Pennisula might be safe, but it would be at a very, very heavy cost to her defenders.
"Still. better to let her know, before he takes it to far. You know as well as I do that her and Sevilin both would have no qualm killing him for an insult if they were really offended. especially Sevilin."
then a grin at his son, bouncing him on his lap.
"Okay, we'll take it easy."

He merely tended to his overly obsessive need to clean. She cooked, he did the dishes, it all worked out rather well now didn't it? Very. But he merely gave a nod to her as he finished rinsing dishes off and then took to drying them. "Alright. I take it then you're going to be in my room tonight?" Not that it was an uncommon thing or anything such as that. A look up to the sounds of Zykariel playing around upstairs, most likely with Nym.
A little dismissive wave of her hand. "Alright alright, I'll mention it to her. She does have a right to know after all, and it is probably better that I innocent mention something out of the care for my friend." Yes a little sarcasm there but hey. Her attention turned back to her books and she took to gathering up the rest of them, straigtening them into a pile. Then moving over to the two, taking to removing thier sons pirate garb.
Malikhai gave a giggle, holding onto his hat again to keep it from plopping off and again from feathers hitting his father as he was bounced lightly. Such little simple things did please him indeed, but that was good being the age he was, simple things should make him happy. And his mother starting to take his play clothes wasn't a bother to him either. After all, Zykariel wasn't around to play pirates with.

Malik nodded lightly, and held thier son while Piper took off the outfit and the hat, and then handed him back over to mom for a moment, getting himself up and stretching lightly.
"alright, since mom said okay, you're in for a special treat tomorrow. I'll bring a few people to talk to you, and we'll see how it goes from there. ,aybe you'll get to learn a few things from your old man."
then a look over to Piper, and a kiss for her.
"And a beating for Arthur later and we'll keep Malvolence away from him, promise."

As any well practiced mother, she merely took him as he was handed over, settling him on her hip, straightening his hair some a moment as well. And of course a smile as she felt that boy's excitment just spike at Malik's words. Well someone was happy. Piper merely gave a chuckle and a hug to thier son. Malik has said the magic words hadn't he? "What kind of people?" Raising an eyebrow with that one.
Easily transferred to mom without fuss, and taking to normal action when she held him which was of course one of his hands gripping at her collar. He had been doing that since he was very small, or at least that's what he knew. And those big silvery eyes just lit up at the little news. Treats were good, and anything learned from dad was good. Therefore, it was all good and just excited his little elven self. Though the prospect of strangers was perhaps a little mood dampening...he wasn't over that shy phase around strangers yet. "Alasse' natha brorn!"
Another chuckle from her. "Malikhai, what have I told you? Pick one or the other, not both." Yes, when the boy got excited, he often spoke in either surface elvish or drow...or a weird combination of both. A habit which she was trying to break because well it could go wrong on him someday if he was doing it in front of the wrong person. Though a return kiss for Malik and a smile for him as well. "Thank you A'mael, who knows maybe you'll get your own special treat for that." Talking over the child's head again of course, it was a well learned skill by now.
He wrinkled his nose at the affection between his parents, sort of in the 'ew' stage, but also in the affection craving one himself. "Me too." Thus earning a kiss on the cheek from his mother at the request.

Ashyln gave a sigh and fluttered her wings. She was following around people if they walked, hoping for a pet, but alas with te children around she would be ignored for the time being. Should she start biting some feet? Mistress Piper would probably hit her for it. Whith another sigh, she lay at Pipers feet, and hoped that elf wouls sit still long enough to notice her.
"No not Hamlet. He wasn't a pasney, just dramatic. Romeo was a pansy. A woman with a d**k." She yawned, stretchted, and stood.
"I don't know if I can go yet anyway. If there's soem kind of war or battle going on with the Elves, then Meilikki is going to want me to run over and see if they need medical assistance."
The Purians were not without their losses. A good third of their best warriars had been taken down in this battle, and the prices were growing steeper with each skirmish.
Leaf screamed a battle cry as she joined the battle, bloodied many an orc and recieved a few wounds herself. She was still alive and well, battle lust in her eyes when they orc infront of her shattered. A splintered rib drove itself into her shoulder with an unnatural strength, pinned her against a stone deposite. The shock wasn't so great, she survived, if she could just get the bone out of her shoulder. No, the bone wasn't the problem. The problem was the concusion she suffered from hitting the back of her head on the rock. She lost conciousness, and her blood flowed freely.
As their dead and wounded were being tended to, the Cheiftan spoke with his son. "Is there nothing you can help us with, son?"
"Father, I'm sorry. But I can't interfere. The life and death cycle is neccesary, and I am not allowed to disrupt it." He looked at his Father, who looked beat. He sighed. "I'll do what I can do bless weapons, and provide you with some healers."
He didn't want to tell his Father that at this point, he just wasn't strong enough to help out yet.

"people that can better demonstrate the arts than I can. nothing dangerous, I promise."
A small grin at that.
"Treats are always good."
the orcish remenants were as easy to find as a needle in a haystack. they spread out, hidden in alcoves and struck quick adn hard and receeded again as they retreated. they made sure any that persued didn't make it back to tell them where they went.
Onyx snorted.
"Hamlet was a wuss. oh poor me, oh pitiful me. Romeo and Juliet defied thier fathers and thier families. not to mention, for the cuase of love that was true."
Hey, onyx was allowed to be romantic from time to time.

Zykariel was jumping from his desk to his bed just to see if he could. Nym had been safely dropped onto his dresser to keep the ferret from getting crushed. He giggled as he landed face down on his bed once again. "I can do it Nym! I wonder if I could make it from my dresser to my bed..." That was a little bit further but he bet he could make that one too.
"Yes, if that's not a problem. I mean, we're used to sleeping together anyway, right? You don't mind, do you?" She took the plates he'd finished drying and began putting them away. Sevilin had never figured out her system of arranging the dishes so to keep him from setting them in any old place and aggrivating her, she just went ahead and handled the putting away of dishes.

"Yes well, I would appreciate meeting these people." Ah, there was the mother in her wasn't there? Ever protective of her child...espcially since he may be the only one she would ever have because of her own surface elven nature. Besides, she had innate magic herself and hell if she found someone unsavory and she could do just as well teaching him, well it didn't take a genius to figure who would win. Another smile at him, setting Malikhai down. "Why don't you go play till dinner, hm?" Then kneeling down herself and scratching at Ashlyn's head and neck feathers where her collar used to be, Piper having taken that off when the griffin had first showed back up. It was good to have the griffin back.
He had stood there for a moment, holding to his father's pant leg, listening and watching before giving a nod to his mother at her request from him and he let go of Malik and toddled off for now to indeed go play for a bit more before he was going to sit down and eat dinner. He had that habit of his mother to pick at his food some and had a tendency to be a picky eater...even if he liked what they were having. Some weird phase of his.
Looking back up to Malik as she continued to pet at Ashlyn. "Of course they are, especially grown up ones, right?" It was a little odd wasn't it? For over twenty years they had been used to just each other and doing what they wanted when they wanted. Now they had to be listening for the pitter patter of little feet. "So what kind of things are you planning on starting him out with?"
Nym chittered in that warning way. He didn't seem to think this was such a good idea, seeing as the boy could fall and well then there would be tears...and glass would probably break. Thus he sat up on his hind legs nad gave one of those chitters again, swishing his tail.
"I didn't say it was a problem, and no I don't have a problem with it. Like you said, used to it. Why would it be different all of a sudden?" Yes they had developed a sort of comfort zone between them in three years hadn't they? Hey they both benefited anyway. Watching her put dishes away...he'd never understand why she did them the way she did.

"Oh poor me, I can't live without her. Look, poison cause I'm to chicken to stab myself. At least my girlfriend had guts." She mocked right back with a smile.
"I'll come, if I don't have duties."
Ashyln nearly melted from the attention. She tilted her head back in order to take full advantage of the scratch. Oh how she'd missed this! Why did she ever leave? She had reasons let's not forget. She stuck her beak underneath Piper's palm, asking for a stroke there as well.

Arthur sighed lightly when he had reached his one level home, he had left the elves back in the dining room about a half an hour ago and took his sweet time walking back to his home away from home, just to sort his thoughts on current events and what not. When the surface elf finally walked up to the single wooden doorway he reached into one of his many pockets to pull out a average size key and slip it into the lock, with a quick twist of his wrist the lock was released and he was allowed to enter his home. Once inside the young elf made his way towards the kitchen, going up the few small steps that lead towards a room that a chef would love to be in; pots, pans, fruits, veggies, cooking knives and all the like where settled in this area, and the pantry he had build into the side of his home was just off to his left which kept his drink and dried foods. So slipping off his coat and rolling up his sleeves Arthur grabbed a pan and a few veggies and a knife and started to cook his dinner, that fish he got from Malik a week ago will do nicely for him tonight.
About a few hours later Arthur was now sitting on one of his leather couches in his 'library' that was mixed with his dining room and a nice chunk of it was left bare so he could practice his magic and sword moves, though as he looked around the room it was missing one thing, company, and the only person who actually came to visit him was Zahara, but it was for different reasons than just chatter. The relationship between the two of them had gone deeper than he would of expected, and now whenever they are together they just seem happy all the time; but still Zahara has a son and Sevilin is the father and she lives with him to so there could be times where they wont see each other at all during the night.
Though tonight Arthur felt a little alone, he wish the rune that was placed over his house would start to glow again telling him that someone was coming towards his door, and as always he knew who to expect, but Zahara always gave him a hint or something to let him know she was coming over for the night and today he never received one so he had to go to bed alone on this night. After placing the book he held in his hands back amongst the shelves he waited a little to see if she would show up tonight, but after maybe an hour or more he realized that she wasn't coming tonight, so he grabbed his coat and walked towards his room, once inside he got a quick bath before heading to his bed and within minutes he passed off and drifted into reverie.

"Hey now, he thought she was dead at the time from poison. adn then he went to follow her, so that don't count."
sticking his tongue out at her.
"Well how about this, if you are free, we can go, and if not, we'll go tomorrow?"
"Certainly. be more than happy to let you meet them beforehand. Probably little things, creation of elements, minor summonings, things like that."
then a look at the griffon, and a slight smirk.
"and now that your back, no messing with Laudi or her roost. I want them ready for combat nad not having to worry about a griffon trying to muscle in on them."
