Arthur got a raise of an eyebrow and a look to Malik. After all, Malik spoke surface elvish. But that look went back over to Zahara. He just called her 'Love'? Did she know he was calling her that? Of course being the friend she was there was no doubt going to be a moment when she asked Zahara about that. After all, the drow woman didn't know surface elvish. A shake of her head, she'd worry about it later. "Borrow without intent to return." Giving a smirk at that.

"Take me where?" Said in that little excited voice. Hey he knew they were talking about him and he wanted to know exactly what it was. After all, he was an inquisitive child. And of course further perking at the mention of training Arthur and Malik got that look turned on him. Malkhai knew that when Arthur trained it meant he could watch and what not.

Well he was done for the day. And Malik's little runic borders were just as fine as they were yesterday. Walking into the once fortress he stretched lightly, before shoving his hands in his pockets. He didn't know which he liked better, giving lessons or being border patrol. Eh depended on the day he guessed. Thus walking in on the others because hey, food was that way and he had to report to Malik anyway. A look to Malik then upon entering. "Be pleased to know, all that is yours is just dandy."

Fin frowned, he could tell that the numbers there were dwindling, and he noticed that many of the smaller tribes were gathering in Deep Water to escape the death. "We can try to keep that from happening." He said with a serious tone, joining Leaf on the boat.

Cedric smield as he heard the steps of the rank and file soldiers, the tug of the war machines, the clanking of the armour sounded closer and closer. Then, they were in range... Roughly a kilometre away. Cedric stood from his perch, and checked his surroundings. Everything was good. He drew his sword, and pulled out a sac filled with tar. He tosed it just ahead of him, letting it explode on a rock. He touched it with his sword, using a fire charm to make the tar ignite. Then, he returned to his perch, and raised the sword over his head. He swung it twice in very rapied sucession. The first swing shot out a rigt of sonic energy, causing the the terran infront of him to shatter. The second swing brought another gust of sonic air around himself.

Natural gas relased from the shatter ground ignited when it escaped high enough to touch the flames. The resulting explosion could be felt in Dragnon. Fire and rocks went towards the orcs, and Cedric shot away like a bat out of hell (even with a fiery escort). THe attack shattered the cavern, causing many of the stalagmites to fall upon the marching orcs prior to the fires and underground explosions. It was a rather devistating attack, which sundered the tunnel complex rather effectively.

The shock wave from the blast shattered windows all the way in Deep Water (only on the south west side), and rushed through the Fortress, Meilikki's manor, and southern Honoursfield. It knocked Fin of his feet, because he was exposed to the sudden burst of energy.

"Right borrow without intent to return." A glance over at Arthur and she smiled, "With the exception of the numbers which Malik so kindly took care of, I always enjoy my business." She tapped her fingers idly on the book and nodded. "I guess that's a go as well. Perfect."

Well Zykariel's little face lit up at the sound of those footsteps and he grinned at his father as he came into the room then clomped over to him in overly large boots and lifted his arms in the universal 'pick me up' gesture. Mother was too busy but Daddy never was. He knew better than to exclaim or say anything since Daddy was talking but he could show his delight, now couldn't he?

When Zahara looked over towards him and smiled, Arthur kindly smiled right back and nodded lightly as he sat down at the table next to her, he might as well stay a little bit before going to his house or off to do some work. "I'm glad to hear that, at least your not stressed out today." He said as he placed his chin in a open palm and turned his attention to Malik and shrugged lightly. "I think I do, must of slipped my mind a little bit." He answered and he gave a small nod to Sevilin when he came in before his eye began to wander around the room, it seemed to be a normal day for them all.

The border that faced the tunnles the orcs were marching from was at the moment 'lined' with archers. Behind rock formations, in cracks, anywhere concelment was available you'd find an elf with a bow and arrow. Thye were ready to defenend when the shock of the blast hit the, They were prepared for this, and made ready to destory those who might have survived.

There was no answer from Alle, she was in another world, asleep on the sleep chair.

Leaf had already been sitting on the boat, and avoided being knocked down, but got drenched in an aftershock wave that caem over the side of the boat. She helped Fin up, and did not complain. "If I could trade my life to assure the survival of my people, I would do so in a heartbeat. But since that is not possible.." She paused, not seeing the neccessity to finish that sentence.

Fin shruged. "Haste." He replied not knowing how to continue any sort of conversation. HE could only think of three topics, and none of which would lightening or enlightening the two. He rubbed his temples because the wave caused some nausia. "When you were turn age, how did your parents describe being an elf to you?" His tone showed he actually had a dark secret in that regard.

Cedric bounced off the water like a stone skipping across a stream. He tumbled and tried to regain himself, but the blast had pulled all of his mana from him. Defenses could be draing at times. Thunk, thunk, spash. His body came to a halt, causing a moderate wave to flow from his location. He lay at the surface for a moment, before everything became black.

She shrugged. "I wasn't listening at the time. I had met all of their expectations and believed I'd already known what it meant to be an elf." Whether or not she had been effected from the blast, she did not show it, besides a slight shiver from her wet clothes. "I do what I am told, to the exact extent I am asked to do it. I blieved myself to be nothing more than an elven tool."

Stick was kind enogh to pull Cedric from the water and keep the elf from drowning. He laid the unconcious elf behnd a convienty rock our cropping that would hide him from most angles and covered him in an emergnacy cammoflage blanket. "Sorry friend, but I cannot wait for your recovery. I have my people to defend." He saluted the downed elf and continued on his way.

Fin looked at Leaf and frowned, "A serious lost to elven kind." He replied to her proclimation of being a 'tool'. "Everyone is a tool. Pretending that definition is sufficient to live is a sorry, and sad lot to accept. What will you do, when all the dark is emptied of hatred, and you have not but yourself to contend?"

Cedric remained very still. His ears, eyes, and forehead were bleeding, his right arm was clothed by blood and scrapts of cloth. His left leg was bent on a very queer angle. His breathes were laboured a deep.

A shadow appeared above him, and then he, the cloth, and the shadow were gone.

they heard the explosion long before they felt it's effects. adn what did they do? scattered like roaches. but not in a, 'we're all going to die' method..but in a 'spread out the ranks so we lose minimal casualties and seiges machines' method. did his army take a pretty nasty hit? yep. probably a fourth to a third of it was effecitvely destroyed, and most of his siege engines. A slight growl, and several commands in orc to his commanders (those that survived adn those newly in that position due to deaths) and they turned around. thier eyes were cold, cruel, adn those that were dreadnights shimmered with a fear inspiring, courage draining gleam. Obviously that path had been sundered...but no one woudl be that foolish to think they'd get everyone that way. so obviously there were other's behind them.

Orcish eyes met elvish ones. old hates long kindled in these two races burned bright. but the orcs didn't rush in a tide like other times. they unified again, and marched. sword clanging on shields in step. and singing, in thier own tongue about death and destruction. it made a frightening appearance. an armored sea, adn every other step had a resounding 'thoom' sound and horrid orcish voices singing lord knows what to elvish listeners.

Malik chuckled lightly.

"A human city, Malikhai. one that corsses teh water, a place of treachery and deciet as is common in the human speicies."

before a look over at Sevilin.

"wonderful. if it's possible, I'm thinking of exapnding the borders just a bit beyond the tunnel, can we do that safely without over extending ourselves or should we put your runic student to work out there?"

Onyx crept in, and snuck over to her, and plucked a feather, a little one, wasn't about to use one of his big ones, and tickled her nose a bit with it.

"Aella...wake up. want to go see a show?"

She looked back as their boat neared the Pensinula, although their driver seemed to be a little disoriented from the shock wave.

"Hatred? There is none of that. There was nothing to begin with. I have delt with nothing but myself since most of my villiage was razed by the orcs, some six years ago. I defend my homeland, as I was unable to defend my village. That is what I will do."

The first wave of arrows was let loose from all directions. From low on the ground to high up, raining down and spinning in from the sides to avoid shields and such. The fired their arros and stepped back a few steps, preparing for the outer defense patterns to be ordered.

Aella slapped her face, trying to get some annoying bug out of her way. The slap of course, woke her up. She stretched and rubbed at an eye. "Onyx? What?" Then a look around. "Did you break in through my windows?"

Piper rolled her eyes, did he have to say that? Then again he did, Malik had always been a blunt man and when it came to his son, he was equally so. Piper, being the mother that she was, at least tired to soften and sugar coat some things, at least till he was a little older. "Not a place for little elves."

Malikhai tilted his head, raising a hand to his overly large hat to keep it on his head as he did so and blinked at his father. "Why you wanna go there then?" Because all those words meant bad things, so why would daddy want to go there, or take him for that matter?

Of course the moment he walked over and put up his arms, Sevilin picked him up, supporting him with one arm as he ruffled his hair with his free hand andgave the boy a squeeze and a smile. Yes, his son was indeed the highlight of his day. "Pirates again?" He wasn't too fond of the game, but he wasn't going to dampen the boy's enthusiam.

Before looking back to Malik. "Should be able to do it without any problem. Of course it you want to put her out there, go ahead. But point is that it should be fine, don't see why it wouldn't be okay." And a look to Zahara. "Thanks again."

Elric smiled, as he and Orko manifested behind the orcish lines. They were stading on a cart, covered in quivers and arrows. The elf smirked as he drew back on his bow, and unleashed every single arrow with one stroke. How? That is the secret of an arcane archer. Though, the attack effectively drained him, his arrows were true to their aim as though he took the time to aim each one. Every orc within range of his bow, was now dead.

Orko laughed, and unleashed an array of fireballs before transporting the duet back to safety. The fireballs took out the remaining seige engines.

Fin shoke his head, "My parents died before I could walk, along with most of my tribe. I have had nothing to live for but the Purians since the day I was born. Yes, I am a tool. Yes, I am a weapon. But that does not mean that I am freed from my obligation of being an elf."

Zykariel giggled as he was picked up right out of his father's boots and wiggled his toes lightly as he held onto his braid just like he'd always done. A nod. "But we ate all the treasure and we were gonna play knights and dragons but we didn't have a damsel in distress 'cause Keely's gosts chores."

Zahara nodded lightly. "Not a problem. He was just fine, did everything I told him to do without a problem." He really was a good kid and she had become his official babysitter whenever Sevilin had things to do and couldn't be with him. It worked out nicely for both of them. Kept her connected yet separate and allowed Sevilin to work without feeling guilty. "I'm doing what now?"

As the others talked amongst each other Arthur was remotely bored of the moment right now, he just wanted to go home and relax on his couches in his 'living' room for a little while. So with a small smile to Zahara and the others he got up and left, leaving the fortress to go back to his one level bungalow outside without any complaints.

(((Sorry it's so short, I'm tired and Arthur isn't doing much sweatdrop ))

"Nope. the elves are playing war."

A slight grin though.

"Want to go see a play? romeo and juliet?"

Malik grinned lightly.

"Becuase humans also make effective pawns, and they have access to things I don't, and I woudl prefer not to have to take it by force, but through trade."

Yes, Malik was quite honest with his son about things. then a glance to arthur.

"then down to the arena with you. I think i might test you against Malvolence today."

Before hs just left on his own. well fine...he'd beat him with it tomorrow.

the orcs didn't stop thier march. those that died were left for dead. his army was rapidly dwindling, but thier Emperor didn't care too much right now. his only real response was to offer prayer to the Sky Father. if the sky father would give him a victory, he'd sacrifice his firstborn to him. if he chose not to, then they obviously had not gained the worth to thier patron diety enough for his help.

Hopefully if they still were victorious, they'd earn it then. but by now those elven archers were feeling pain of well placed and quite barbed and dangerous longbow shots from orcs in teh mass that coudl use the bow. thier pace quickened to a halfstep. they were closing the gap quickly.
