Romans could...that's why they kicked arse! But they were idiots, that's why they are all dead whee Lol! They used iron, which is just one of the base elements for makeing steel. The Hun, if I remember correctly, only beat them because they used the Persian strike tactic. They'd ride in, fire on the Romans, and ride back out and just keep doing that.
