Most of oregon is high desert – dirt and scrub. The forest areas are quite majestic. In my experience, the state is kind of just one huge expanse of boredom with Bend, Medford, and Portland plopped in it. Portland just blows. And as for it's Northern neighbor...
Well, without flying into a tirade, I can say Washington state is the most compelling argument for mass genocide one could be presented with.
Drink some hot lemonade.

eek From mass genocide to hot lemonade .. what a segue ha. Thanks, I might try it .. though I've had an aversion to lemon products since I had the craptacular job of picking them in Summer, who knew lemon trees had gigantor thorns?!? My arms were slashed to ribbons! I looked like an emo farmer *hmm wonders if that will tektek*

I need to see North Finland.
And yeah, hot lemonade helps hangover-like symptoms but not real hangovers. It also kills your kidneys though, so moderation advised.

North Finland is so pretty place. Even though in the south it's full summer by now, up in the north the spring is just starting. There's still snow all over the place and the temperatures are half what we have here in the south.

Yeah, it is very hot here. We are already hitting 100+º days. I imagine we will get temperatures over 140º this summer if it keep up at this rate. Last year my thermometer maxed out at 137º, so it is not unreasonable.
Though I doubt I will ever see North Finland myself. Being treated like an insane retard by people in the South was once enough.

Gah! I would die if it would be that hot in here. +30C is my max I can take. After that I start living in a freezer. xd
Hmm, how come you were treated that way? Usually Finns just ignore everyone different around them.

At the time, it was during mom's world psychoses period. I was designated translator, plus I just tend to annoy people and piss them off. But in retrospect, I think Helsinki might just have had a larger ***hole population in the late 80's... Or the bad manners have been diluted in recent years since Finland has a more active role in the world these days.

Oh you were in Finland during the late 80's. Well I don't wonder why people might have acted rude then. It was fairly uncommon to have anyone foreign (that wasn't a swede or russian) in our country, especially some one from the US. We were still slightly tied to the soviet russia in those days. Also in the beginning of 90's there was a huge recession in the country so it's possible that the atmosphere of Finland haven't been that welcoming before everything collapsed.
It has changed a lot from those days and tourism is getting more and more popular in Finland.

And I still think you should have kept those norther ports. Norway and Russia have too much Northern coastline as it is.

I'd say the southern ports are more important when it comes to wealth of the state. Those are nearer to the europe. But, I'm happy with my country as it is. I mean it could be worse. The entire country could still be part of the russia.
