"If you'd ever faced a Vah, a true vah, in combat without your precious magics or legions, you'd understand thier value a bit more I think. I think you underestimate me. rogue, familess..perhaps. but you and your legions of slaves, your big warship, your Houses. Worthless. without your slaves, without your wizards or your 'advanced' spells..where you woudl you be? a single drow, with only your swords. and I have no doubt your are a expert swordsman. but you aren't so grand as you make out ot be. it's been teh downfall of several drow societies in several planes, and if all teh drow here are like you, it's only a matter of time before the same happens to you. Arrogant and proud. I watched the Tier'dal of my plane get routed and damn near crushed for it. I've seen drow in other planes do the same. now they are either enclosed in areas so small as to be useless, or scattered to the wind."

Malik crossed his arms.

"Beasts. you should meet thier father. if either of those two had his particular gift you'd never have made it away form the raft you assaulted them on."

A glance at Malvolence.

"Nelphean Nightblade I'd imagine. meddling sorceror. So what are you interested in, Captian? let me guess. causing chaos and upheaval, all the better to bring the Drow to prominence, pitting the humans against eachother...or spreading so much panic that they can't fight back from fear? Go ahead. I don't care about human lives, never have. bring Dimitri down. set Deep Water aflame, bathe yourself in gold and jewels. they mean little to me. I'll just enjoy it when the human hit back, while you all gloat over your spoils and see you pushed into the water. I've died for thoise reasons, Innoruuk saw fit to bring me back..and several occasions. He enjoys seeing me make those mistakes over and over I think."

The minotaur smiled, if it could be called that. He accepted her hand, "If a drow does treat you poorly, you are allowed to kill him, as long as its quick, and not frequent. It is easy for Tarathiel to replace Drow crew, they know this, so they tend to keep their distance from us... We are special, they are not. That is the secrete to being a slave on this ship. We, hold the power over the free." Warhammer moved his head closer to Aella, and whispered something that sounded like a grunt in her ear.

"That is my name."

Sstrl interupted the little intamite moment, "I am ssssorry to interupt, but the captain needs to know which object the king will send his armada to get, we need to make him think Malik hassss it. For one reason or another, the captain thought you would know." The iguana like creature said, "If we dessstroy hissss fleet, we can use the ssssship to bombard the city."

Warhammer snorted at the lizard.

Tarathiel looked at Malik, "One thing, Vah did live on this plane. The Drow killed them." He locked eyes on Malik, "Nelphean Nightblade, would he tell me this word?"

Pitiful drow, "Advanced magic is why the humans moved down here, is it not?" Tarathiel purred, "Purhaps, it was lack of insight in using that spell after all..."

"A fool trusts that his swords can kill every foe, for somethings steal cannot cut." He looked at the ground, "So Malik, you think me proud, and you think yourself favoured by a god, perhaps you are, perhaps I am as well... There is nothing unique about being chosen. Gods have been choosing since before the time of the drow, and long after..."

"Besides, Drowling, How many families do you think there are in this Dark? hundreds, thousands, millions..."

A few moments later, "Malthostop." The blade of the sword did nothing. "Hmm... I guess he lied to me. Or did I use the wrong word and make you think that I was only bluffing, then again, you know this drow and I do not." Nelfien was a common drow name. The elf smiled. "How easy was it to get the sword back?" Two assumptions... "Did this Nelphean get your sword? Really... A warrior such as you lost your sword? I am shacking in my grieves... Did he take it from you by force, of did you give it to him, in a trusting manner... Well Malik, you seem to have forgotten to go to school, did you flunk of of Malee Ma'gather? A great swordsman you appear to be..." Well, he got a little carried away. Mighty Malik, not so mighty. A highly potent elvish aura on the blade, and he never got ride of it, unless he did and is facking it... That is what Tarathiel would have done. Time to switch angels.

"Oh, I am onto you, you clever drow citizen... You had the curse removed a long time ago, and it carries a fack signiture to confuse the elf... So if you ever faught him, you could laugh as that fool's plan failed." Tarathiel tilted his head.

"Farsight..." Tarathiel smiled evilly, now he was playing a dangerous game.

"Well Malik, I think I will take you up on your offer to destroy the fleet for me, that would be nice, to have the seas to myself, to have fewer places to hide..."

"Lavi would love that..."

"Oh, and do make the water's warm again, I forgot to take a bath last time."

Special?

Okay, she liked the minotar. He had a down to earth quality that she found refreshing and charming. His hot breath on her ear felt good, and even warmed her up a little bit. It was like talking to an old pet that that had just learned to talk, and had for the longest time wanted to tell you soemthing.

Perhaps it was because she was better with "animals" than people, or maybe because the gesture was just too sweet for even her manner to resist. "It is good to know you, minotar." She would have tried to speak his name, had she not wanted to keep it to hereslf.

The smiled left when the serpant man appeared. "Object? He doesn't need an object. He'll send his entire fleet after malik himself. He's had a persoanl vandetta on the guy for years." She thought about it a moment. "The girl that was with malik. He wan'ts the girl for some reason. Oh, what was her name? Piper something."

"Nelphean Nightblade is not a drow. has a habit of dealing with demons and being ever so potent in his magic. I lost this blade thanks to a Conduit's energy. I threw it at a long hated enemy. woudl have went right through his back had the conduit's demonic energies rippled the air and veered it off course. and my enemy took it. I was not pleased as you might imagine."

He thought back.

"It seemed simple enough. sword on a pillar golems that one was expected to come to life, staff in the wall obviously a trap. got to the pillar..grabbed it..golem scame to life, whole room became an inferno. nothign to dmamge the golem..becuase the damned elf had glued the sword to the pillar with some kind of strange substance. ended up having to take part of a pillar with me. pain in the a**."

Then a slight grin.

"Oh I would love for you to meet him though. he and that extended family of his woudl rip you apart as to look at you. Drow cities, drow houses. I don't need society of the drow. spider worshipping female ruled theocracies. as for the Drow killing the Vah. I wouldn't put it past you. again no foresight. if you knew the value of a throwback like Cymarron, you'd have spared them just to try and breed his kind."

"millions..thousands..humans here because of you. I don't care. You have things I find interesting. you talk of magic far more advanced than mine. this perks my interest. and that's about all that does. though perhaps sometime I wouldn't mind seeing those blades in action. maybe when Dimitri's fleet arrives I'll instead bargain with them to get to you. I'm in it for me. what serves me best, like any drow. You captian. talk bravado so far, you insult, you poke and prod. I'm stating simple things. you have magics I might be interested in learning, you have at least one human and possibly a lizard I migh tbe interested in bartering for or purchasing. You want Dimitri gone, I wouldn't mind helping. I have no liking of him either. But you don't want to help me, or do anything in return for me, so be it. I'll handle Dimitri on my own. And I don't need to go sneaking around on ships. I'll go in through the front door and gut him and his guards. Either way makes no difference to me."

The lizard man shruged, and walked away, leaving the pair alone again.

Warhammer sat on the ground, and smiled. "Do you know how to sail a ship, if I might ask?"

"Malik, if you could do that, why haven't you?" Tarathiel laughed, "Oh yes, my musing you into different areas... Did you say you could take it from the room?" Tarathial laughed again, "And you missed..."

"Both don't speak well. The blade is cursed, and will break. You have poor judgement, if you could not sense the danger coming... Then again, you don't seem to have the magical resistance that is native to this side of the Dark. Don't you feel the mind probs? They certainly can go through you head easily."

"You have nothing I want except... Well, when D'Mitri comes knocking you shall know." Tarathiel bowed, and vanished. A sign writen in surface elf said "This Silentent Image brought to you By the Wizen Watch Tower." replaced the drow for a moment, and then vanished.

She watched him go, before returning her attention to Warhammer.

She smiled. "Ships have never been a stranger whereever I have gone. And yet I know little." The smiled was mischevious now. "But I know what keel-hauling is, so don' try and trick me into that one."

She sat down too, mostly because she felt comfotable enough to sit, and she more enjoyed coversation when she could sit and relax. She folded her legs beneat her, ready to listen.

"Annoying drow. mentally unbalanced. But we need to prepare. I want Bode made ready to play firestarter again. you two..you can be our airbore assault. humans never look up unless they have to. I was this place in combat readiness as soon as possible."

Then a thought.

"Piper..since Serino can send mail through planes...I wonder if a certain Nelphien Nightblade might want to show up a few Drow, or meet our friend the Captian. not to mention I want to know about this supposed curse on malvolence. and while were at it. why not ask if the other one, Brightsaber, wouldn't mind a chance at having a bit of fun. and ask your father if some of his people might wish to play down here."

A smirk.

"The Captian seems overly confident. maybe he needs to find out how good he really is. I bet Brightsaber would teach him a thing or two. and Nelphean might help. if only for your sake. and Damn tht oracle and her talk about planar rifts. I don't intend to sit idly by while that Captian plays games."

Moonstone slammed his palms onto the table, leaning on them as he adressed Malik. His eyes were dilated, and he was angry. Rarely was Moonstone angry.

"You are not putting Bode inot a battle situation! She's a child for heaven's sak! Furthermore, her abilities work with the possibilities of bad luck. The ooze may or may not cause another pillar of fire, but they could very well cause us all to have heart attacks. Chaos doesn't know sides Malik."

"You will not be using my sister this way. Nor will you try to." His green eyes flashed, and his fangs bared.

Malik turned to Moonstone, calm, cold.

"I will use anyone as I see fit to. Like it or not, Moonstone, the girl has power. power that can be used to defend my home, and you, I might add, from a fleet of human soldiers."

Then his eyes narrowed.

"And as I recall, I wasn't much older than her when your father tried to rip me into a thousadn peices. so don't even try to use the 'she's only a child she shouldn't be in a fight' garbage with me."

Onyx looked at Moonstone, and back at Malik, fur bristling on him as well.

"WE can always leave. we don't have any reason to stay with you."

Onyx crossed his arms, shaking his head.

"What then, Malik..when we leave you son't have any airborne attackers or Bode."

Malik turned to Onyx.

"Go ahead. leave. then if that armada gets past me, they'll only have tow cats and a child to find. and they'll own Deepwater and the Purian pennsula."

"Don't bring our father into this. This isn't about what Cymarron tried to do to you, Malik. I'ts about Bode. And last I checked, you weren't Bode's possesor. You don't understand her power. It takes a great physical strain on the chil. In a situation where it is forced out of her, she could very well die from exaustion within the first few minutes."

He grawled. "There are other ways to beat an army. And Bode is not part of the equation. Plain and simple."

"You brought it up. You father killed thirteen bloodlines, down to the last child. Never occured to him that chilrden should be left out of combat."

A look between them both.

"You got a better idea, tell me. becuase an armada of ships is going to be coming here soon. you do realize how large a force an armada is, don't you? it's a fleet. sevrtal ships all loaded to the hilt with soldiers. They are coming here, to get rid of us. all of us, including Bode. Don't think that her being a 'child' is going to stop a deepwater soldier from implaing her ona spear and carrying her back to deepwater as a trophy."

Onyx was about ready to come across the table at Malik. and Moonstone probably as well.

"No one is touching Bode as long I as can still breath and fight. not one person, not one p***k of metal or soldier."

His claws extended, and he growled loudly.

PostPosted: Sat Sep 24, 2005 12:21 pm

"I don't see how I brougyht it up. And agian Mailk, this isn't about you or what my Father did. You can't compair the two situations.

"Bode will not be invloved and that is final. Onyx and I are more than capable of defending ourselves. As long as we all live, I don't care about your "home." Besides, you can't possibly have left yourself defensless. You have trolls, you have slaves," however much Moon might object to such things, they might come in handy. "You have magics, you have your god." His ton became mocking. "isn't the great malik suppose to be pre-pare for anything? You can't have expected people's fear of you to keep them away for ever."

The Oracle put her head in her hands. She had told them, no more people jumping planes and don't die. What was it going to take to get it through to these people?

"Tanundra? I have a job for you." The dragon-man stood up from his seat at their table and waited for istructions, loking happy to be able to get out of the ruins. "Go to the Bblue elf's place, and help them defend themselves. You can kill anybody from deep water, just no oe from other places, all right?" He made a grunting noise and walked out of their makshift door.

Piper was merely sitting there in her chair, looking quite despondent to it all, if she was feeling anything about the whole thing then she either was keeping it in or she was thinking about it way to hard. Her fingers tugged at her collar as they usually did in form of some kind of thinking or feeling. Then she looked to Malik and shook her head. "I'm not going to help you start war Malik..." Did he honestly expect her to? Did he think he could ask that of her and get a good response back. She could already see where this was going, and it didn't lead down a good path at all. "And do you expect my father to put his people in harm's way? Besides...they don't trust drow, not even under my father's word." She shook her head again...damn that drow for kicking up the spark that started a fire in Malik. "And let's say what happens if I do help you play war...what happens to me?" Oh and he knew what she meant by that. Meant several things, would he lock her up to 'keep her safe' and leave her to worry, or would he get his own lust or sorts back and then she would take back seat...admittedly Malik's lust for battle matched her own wanderlust. She wasn't about to help him play only to potentially loose him again.

"Don't worry. I get the feeling we're going to get some added help."

A small smile.

"You're right, Moonstone. there are other ways. last time we saw a certain Oracle, she was highly irrate about bringing other people across planes. that and me and piper have messed with her balance, so us dying is not a good thing. since she seems to know what goes on wether she's present or not, and she knows full well I would send my Nightmare if need be for assistance. I'm not stupid enough to face an armada with just my slaves alone."

A small smile.

"I get the feeling something large, scaley, and firebreathing is going to be sent here to help us deal with our little problem."

Then a look to Piper.

"Hardly, Piper. I would expect your bow to be right by my sword. I would have you by my side, wether I fall or not. This war was long since started. it just went cold. Adn the Captian has decided to spark it to flame again. too cowardly to face teh fleet on his own, or maybe using my bravado as a means to test how skilled we might actually be. I don't know. but he wants to send us to the fire. and I don't intend to sit quietly about it."

Onyx shook his head. Okay, so he was gambling on teh fact that the Oracle's dragon was going to come fight with them. and if not, wether it woudl tear reality apart or not, he would send for help through the planes. He certainly didn't take to teh idea of just you know, not starting a war and being quiet. nope. lets start the war and rip reality apart if we need to to win it.

"Malik...are you sure your entirely stable yourself? I wonder sometimes."

This guy flip flopped more than the footwear of the same name. First he was quite intent on using whatever resorces he could possibly get his hands on, then he was docile and willing to accpet what Moonstone said. Such an odd character. Moon looked to bode in onyx's arms.

He spoke quietly to his brother. "What are we going to do with her? When teh fighting starts? Anywhere around here is just not safe" Then a look at Piper. "Perhaps Serino, or you're father's wind horse, could take her away from here?"

Tanundra stood on the edge of the water on the west edge of Deep Water. He looked around, sniffed, made sure not a soul was watching. He dove into the water, making hardley a splash, and swiming his way quickly under the surface. If seen from above, one would look down and see Tanundra's outline in the drak water. Nothing more than a draker outline of a person swimming. But if you wre to keep watching, and watch closely, you'de begin to see some odd things. What looked like extra limbs slwoly growing from his back, his neck would get longer, and if you wren't quite mistaken you would swear the man had a tail. The transfermation took a full ten minutes, and was painful beyond beleife. But it was necessary. When finally he made it to the wester wall of the large cavern, he crawled out of the water a full dragon. He scaled the wall, leaving deep gouges, until he was high enough. He thrust himself out from the wall, dropped a few feet, then spread his wings. Both momentom and common air drafts gave him lift, and with a few powerfull wing strockes he had carried himself over the citiy of Deep Water and in the direction of the blue elf's home.
