I'll find something, Jile. Then pm you. 3nodding You've been hanging around a while, it's past time we found something.
I like the Beyond the Box. heart It's quite interesting and should make a good read for our readers. Still needs polishing, which you said you would do. And some things in the beginning are less than true, so be careful how you use your words.
I'd like to say the Press is perfect, but we're not. There were a few times we missed Best of the Issue, and not all of our poetry and prose is of the "greatest writing quality" (which would be my fault and the occasional fault of circumstance a.k.a. lack of submissions). Some of our more familiar readers will know this and remember it. Best to be truthful or omit it. xp
That's my two cents. >.>
EDIT: Rawr. Deab, what's your Press nickname? Was it something like Left-Hand Apple Eater?

That's the edited version of the finalists banner. If Deab used to be Kraeela, his staff nickname is/was Editor's Left Hand a.k.a. Teh Tech Monkey. Another version of the banner. I prefer the picture in this one, but I think there's too much empty space. Tell me which you prefer, and I'll clean that one up.

Best ask Rushifa.
I agree with you on the second picture. It's nice, but there's too much white. I don't know if you could enlarge it or combine the two. That might look awkward or distorted.
Also Rushifa, if you could find like, a little tag for the overview in the beginning? You know, like Jaho's is "Anti-state, anti-social, anti-you"? Or I could just use the "A girl's guide to geekdom" bit. That would probably work.
And I still need an answer on the fees for ads. Here's my idea:
A ___g fee for ads in ___ issues.
stare
Keep in mind we need the money. Especially since I bumped the BOI prize and added runner ups. My fault, I know, but I plan to do some donating to the mule to make up for it. I'm earning the money right now, in fact.

Combining them? I'll try that, see how it turns out. I can't enlarge it, by the way. I already tried.
How much money do you need? I might be able to help.

We'll make it through this time, but with all this outgo and no income, we'll run out, of course. Which is why I'm researching mini shops as we speak. Did you know they have no advertising shops at all at the moment?
Also Lilly, if you aren't too terrible busy, maybe a banner for the potential minishop would be nice? Do we want something new or should we just modify the classical Gaian Press banner? I think modifying the classical would be best, so we're more recognizable.
Text... should we just stick to our name, The Gaian Press, and add Minishop?

This is the combined version. It is slightly larger than the others (2 pixels larger for both width and height).

Hm... we'll have to ask Rushifa which one she wants or see if she has another image all together. The combination is nice, but it doesn't fit the typical layout of having an image on one side. But then again, what does it matter? The readers probably don't pay that much attention anyway.

Famous last words. If it is decided to use the combination-banner, this would be as good a time as any, if not better. This thing's been running for a year; who says we can't experiment with a couple of things? But no matter, as we need to know Rushifa's decision first.

xd I know. Anyway, I've been working in the minishop thread a lot today, and I have a rough draft in the first post, our ideas in the second, and things to plan out in the third. Also, the poetry and prose sections in the draft are done, so shortly I'll be setting up the booth. Lastly, I made a thread in the Pricing assistance part of the minishop forum. There've been no replies yet on how I should price things. That would be posted here: http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=12357689

Wait a minute- I may have done this wrong...
Isn't everyone supposed to post once, and the highest voted gets BOI, second highest 1st RU, and third the 2nd RU?
neutral
What if I left it with the three votes, to see how it turns out, then if it doesn't work, discard all of the Runner Ups people voted on and count the BOI votes, then determine the RU's that way.
Yeah, I think I'll do it that way.

Hmm, I've always pictured it as more of a Pressanese. Probably just my Asian(Chinese) heritage reasserting itself. And I so like to lasso in staffies. Whyever do you think I got myself a whip?
