I made more paper beads today, and I also made this present bow out of a chip bag:

I cut up more chip bags so that I can make more. I'll never have to buy Christmas bows again, muwahahaha. X3

That bow is very impressive.

Went for an 8km walk today which dusted off the legs. My boyfriend caged in one of my plant shelves because that flipping squirrel keeps digging into my plants. I planted some cathedral bell seeds and put a pot over the pot but he managed to dig a hole in there regardless.

I also dusted off my ponies. When we reno the house, I want to look at better shelving/display options for them.

Thank you. X3 I used the instructions here and just used chip bags instead of paper.

PONIES! You have a Twilight Sparkle! <3
(I have to be honest, I've only watched FiM. The earlier MLP didn't appeal to me, so I can't get excited about your other toys. D: )

I hope the squirrel stays away from your plants now.

Thanks for the link!

I only remember one episode (where they tickled a spider) of the original MLP. I did have a wide collection of the ponies though. Love FiM, but I hate the pony toys. Cutie marks only on one side, AJ never has her hat, wrong eyes (I prefer the eyes of the older ponies instead of just a stamp), horrible colouring (purple Luna, pink Celestia) and the horrible hair. We can land a man on the moon, but can't give Pinkie her curls. (Plus my 25 year + ponies still have their curls, Hasbro can make show appropriate Pinkie hair.)

My boyfriend got me two, one being an European one (shiny lavender coat, pink hair with the yellow ribbon). She was quite expensive, so now I feel like a "real" collector.

Hahaha, the jays are being really greedy this morning so I've put some food for the juncos in my plant cages with a corner up. I was sitting watching them and that f squirrel came, dug into my plants and crawled in the cage under the corner flap. I went out there to scare him and didn't realize the door didn't close after me so Bones came out and was like "WOW MOM THANKS !" for catching him a squirrel. Needless to say the squirrel was not impressed. I let him out and took Bones back to the house and then realized my other cat escaped too. Found her a few minutes later thankfully.

The Easter Bunny left two eggs for us at our door this morning. :3

I've had a really tedious week and today was just the cherry. My math teacher was really blase about a bunch of my questions and a tow truck ran over one of my flower pots at work. The half wine barrel flower pots. Just a really frustrating day.

When I got home, there was a raven outside. I gave him some suet and he seemed happy. Of course I didn't have my camera with me. He flew away and I got my camera and took some pictures and of course I run out of room. Took eight minutes to get the folder off my camera and onto my laptop. That cheeky squirrel was exceptionally cheeky. I grind the nuts up so the juncos can eat them and she was going for the container of nuts instead of the few nuts I put out just for her. One of the chickadees landed on my hand to get some food too.

I learned that by properly combining modern fertilizers produced in factories with organic fertilizers like crop rotation featuring things like legumes & clover, one can sometimes get the the best of both worlds (both the productivity essential to feed the world that comes with modern fertilizers and the lack of nitrogen pollution that comes with organic fertilizers).

I also learned that the biggest obstacle to decreasing nitrogen pollution in China is the lack of agribusiness. Peasant farmers with tiny plots of land are still so terrified of the starvation they experienced from communism and uneducated that they overuse modern fertilizers by an enormous percentage.

I also learned that one if the biggest farming problems in sub-Saharan Africa is the depletion of soil quality caused by farming without being able to afford modern fertilizers. The nitrogen is being used up faster than it is replaced & so every harvest is less productive than the last.

All this information sure would come in handy in an apocalypse!

biggrin

Soil nutrients and crop rotation is really interesting and it doesn't seem like a lot people know about it. Plowing fields certain ways also depletes soil (usually moisture so the soil blows away).

In last weeks local paper there was an article about fewer birds in the area over the winter and that it was "too quiet". I wrote a somewhat humorous letter in, saying that I have all the noisy birds at my place and I can't wait until next winter to get more feeders. Well, little did I know there's a bunch of high horse know it alls in this town. One of them searched me on Facebook saying that I shouldn't feed birds in the summer because of bears... even though my letter was, I thought, pretty clear that it was winter feeding only. The editor (who I know) says she got a bunch of emails saying that I was a dolt and how could the she, the editor, post such rubbish. There was another message on the paper's Facebook page saying that I was "trilling" about my excitement about feeding the birds this summer. My letter didn't even mention summer, just winter feeding. The use of the word "trilling" really rubbed me the wrong way. emotion_facepalm

Our little organic market now has dried nettle. I bought some and made a tea. I really missed nettle tea.

I realized I don't have to give up being an expert in economics just because I don't want to be a professional economist anymore. I've started using internet resources to pick up where I left off after I changed my major to Engineering.

Today I brushed up on the Subjective Theory of Value, Marginalism in Price Theory, & The Formulation of the Economic Calculation Problem.

When I watched the news later on I was overwhelmed with joy that I have a lifetime of economic expertise enriched political experiences to look forward to!

Haha, awesome!

Today I started the thirty day squat challenge. You start by doing 50 squats and increase by five each day, with rest on the fourth. (So tomorrow is 55 squats, and then 60, 65, etc.) I've been doing 30-60 squats the last week so I'm thankful I'm in a bit of shape before hand.

Also got a stand up bike pump. Might ride our bikes to work tomorrow.
