...and he did not say when, if ever he would return?

*A simple question really. If Zenogais was going to do some personal soul searching, such a feet could take months if not years. Not to mention Zenogais being who and what he was, he might never find out what he was really going to be going after. Nana also knew nothing of those outside. She still was unfamiliar with what Xol was before hand, let alone now, so she would be unable to sense him as she could others like angels, fallen or otherwise. As for the children, an explination would probably be well appriciated, and maybe then they could all get a little sleep, without having to worry about having their dreams invaded*

Heswina's lips, no longer their sparkling ruby red color, turned down in a thoughful frown. Powerful? Yes. Cunning? Yes. But most definately, and probably more noticeable, Xol was annoying! Pulling in a short breath she sighed softly. Her breath came out in a billowing smoke of luke warm air against the cool night chill. She didn't say anything, she had nothing to say to Xol. Instead she used the tree as a sort of support, lowering herself down until her armored bottom was securely planted on the cool ground of the forest's edge. Shifting her sword's handle out of her side she stared down at Xol, and the barrier for that matter.

Truthfully Heswina hadn't a clue why she had come back. It had something to do with revenge, revenge against Zenogais and KB, but that was all she could really think of. She'd been hurt here, hurt really badly, both physical and emotional, which was strange considering the fact that she had very rarely even stepped out of her secluded little hideing place in the rose bushes. It was only natural that she'd want to find those who hurt her and hurt them right back...only Xol wasn't on the top of her list. It was Zenogais, followed closely by KB. If she ever found that...that...she couldn't think of an insult strong enough to lable him with, but if she ever found him she would make every waking moment of his life agonizing. She would make him beg for his own death.

Finally, after a few moments of thinking, Heswina finally opened her mouth and spoke. Her voice was soft, slightly shakey, and very meek, but despite that it flowed on the wind, carried by a force that could neither be felt, seen, or described. "You may want to pay attention to you little friend, she's up to something." Heswina said she because of the simple fact that she couldn't touch KB's mind. She didn't know it was KB, didn't know he was a machine, and only assumed that it was a woman. After all, her powers were limited.

Xol was right in the adaption thought. He adapted, she adapted, everyone adapted to survive, but Heswina...oh she went above and beyond the call of duty. Not only did she do what needed to be done to survive, she did it so she could survive longer. He had adapted to her powers, learned to shun her, to beat her...but that was the old her. She didn't do anything, not at the moment, but she could! When all you did was sit around devising new ways to kill you picked up a few new tricks along the way.

((Hey Mastema. Xol and I are on one side of the barrier and KB's on the opposite. So,yea, we're not all three together.))

*Mastema shook his head at the question* Correct. It could take any amount of time from his perspective. If he wishes to return then no doubt he will, but if he does not then he may choose to remain solitary and separate from the citadel. Aside from that, if he were to become damaged while on his journey, there would be no way to repair him. *So Zeno could either go on his journey and remain separate from the citadel for the rest of his days, or he would eventually become too damaged to continue living without aid*

*It was in Nana's nature to want nothing but good things for people, and after having been witness to so many wars, and so much bloodshed, it onlu strengthend her feelings. When it was thought that Zenogais might have been destroyed sometime earlier, Nana had given him a sending off, so that his soul could rest in peace. The general of course had found a way to survive however, but this time that might not be the case. If he left and became to damaged, it was entirely possible that no one would know, and he could eventually parish having never found the answers he was looking for. It was a gamble really, especially with at least two people outside of the barrier at that very moment who wanted to destroy him for one reason or another. Zenogais didn't really have too many allies, and far more enemies due to his nature. It was hard to say what his chances really were, outside of the citadel but that was his choice to make*

He may yet change his mind, though I doubt he will. *Zeno was too stubborn to change his mind about anything when he'd made up his mind; being depressed didn't change that. The same was true for the fact that the bot didn't care who hated him or who wanted him dead, for he'd make it his resolution to annihilate them. Even if he was emo, he would still journey aimlessly without letting people get in his way. Mastema already knew that much*

He was slightly taken back slightly by her reference to this "she". Could she not sense KB? Or rather, delve into his mind? Maybe she had indeed lost her touch. It mattered not as he wouldn't be letting his gaurd down ever again. Not with her around. It wasn't so much respect of her prowness as it was not liking people to get the better of him. He was a dominate persona. Either he controlled the situation or no one did.

"No... not she, he. And by he, I actually mean KB. Again trying fruitlessly to gain entrance into the barrier. It's no skin off my nose if he does however, Mastema's defenses will take care of him and I can get some free roaming time in the Citadel."

Xol had noticed her shakey, almost meek sounding voice when she spoke to him. As long as he had known her though she had never openly immitated weakness. Interesting. He would most definately keep this in mind. If Heswina was growing weak over time then he might have a few cards up his sleeve for her down the road. For now however, his focus would remain on KB at the Citadel barrier just over yonder.

His multicolored gaze turned from his past lover onto the opaque barrier. On the other side was his target, seemingly sniffing out weakness to the obstacle in front of him. There were many ways into the barrier, some beingfar easier than others. He just wondered what method KB might be thinking of using.

If that is his resolve, then there's nothing to stop him.

*It wasn't likely Nana would see Zenogais before he left, unless he attended the confrenece, but who knew when that would be. Nana wasn't likely to try and talk Zenogais out of leaving either. The children would need to be told, and perhaps an explaination of why aswell. Mastema could choose to tell them at the time he spoke to them of KB if he wished. With all of that in mind, the children would have more to think about than just their own rooms, in fact that subject would probably be less for front at least for a time*

I suppose not. What puzzles me is that there seems to have been no catalyst for such a change in his demeanor. From my perspective, he was his normal self one moment and the next he had asked me for permission to go on indefinite leave from the citadel. What struck me most about the request was that he was willing to give up his sword. However, I allowed him to keep it....... without that weapon, his energy reserves would deplete in a relatively short time. *Zeno's willingness to give up his sword, in Mas's view, was equivalent to showing Zeno's willingness to give up his life*

*Nana would interpit the same thing as Mastema did from Zenogais' willingness to part with something that gave him energy to live from. It was like a human giving up food all together, and settling only for a cup of water a day. Eventually that person would parish, as would Zenogais if he had given his sword back to Mastema. But there was no catalyst? No reason for Zenogais to decide what he did? That couldn't be true, there had to be something. Something in his environment perhaps? There were several differences now, from the types of things he had been used to before in the past. It was hard to tell if anyone of them was the cuase, though it might have been something else entirely differnt all together. Zenogais' reasoning would remain a mystery*

*There wasn't much else left to say on the subject of the general. The rest would only be known when he finally decided to leave, and if and when he returned. It wasn't certain whether Zeno had any idea of where he wanted to go, perhaps some place from his past, where he might find his answers. KB had yet to make his move outside the barrier, and for the moment Proto and Zeno would wait. Mastema would keep leading Nana around the room, having very slowly increased the length of his steps, until Nana decided she had done enough for the night*

There was nothing, nothing to tell Xol that she had just heaved six trees into the air, there was no feeling to measure the amount of force Heswina used to hurl these trees over Xol's head against the barrier. Rage swelled and exploded behind Heswina's eyes, even the lifeless left sweltered with some flicker of her anger. "What was that, lover?" The emphasis she put on Xol's former title was harsh and violent. That thing was KB?! That peice of filth was standing just on the other side of Mastema's barrier!!

Heswina was working a new sort of power now, though she still retained powerful psionic abilities. Using a twisted, and completely unnatural, twist between her telekinesis and illusions she could actually meld the two to use an 'invisible' magic. A force that could not be seen, gauged, or even felt. But it was a double sided blade. Though her opponents could not see how much force she was producing neither could she, she could intend to lift a sleeping babe from it's cradle only to pop it's head like a grape accident.

Heswina was up, on her armored feet, before she had really thought much about what she was going to do. She had just come to realization that she was moveing as she marched down from the forest line, directly towards Xol. Her left hand rested on the hilt of her sword and a half, the name given to the cross-forge of a longsword and a broadsword.

*Nana would try to keep up the pace, though she may not have been entirely successful, the pain slowed her down. There were very very few days left, and Nana wanted to be able to share her time with the children again. It was likely Nana and Mastema would continue on for another hour or so, before Nana's strength gave out. In the mean time the strange shadowy creature was on the move again, somewhere within the citadel*

*Whenever Nana seemed to be losing her balance or ability to stand, Mastema would slow his pace, but for the moment, Nana seemed to be holding up rather well for her first time moving in five months. If there was more time before the children's birthday, then no doubt Nana would be taking her rehabilitation a little more slowly*

Proto: *Waiting about 20 meters from the barrier edge, Proto would look over his shoulder, toward the opposite end of the citadel. He'd picked up on the trees that seemed to be needlessly hurled against the barrier. The natural response was the hardening/solidifying of the barrier to become more tolerant of the force. Still, it wasn't something pleasant to deal with. Proto just wished that he would not have to deal with the other two in conjunction to KB*
PostPosted: Thu Feb 09, 2006 9:41 pm

*A large shadow cast itself on the ground and moved along slowly. There was little if nothing to bar its path and as usual it seemed to be passive. It seemed to be moving towards the barrier, where the thumping sound of trees smashing on the barrier seemed to be coming from, the creature was inquisitive. Any other beings that might have been about, hadn't yet been paid any mind to*

???: ..........?

*Perhaps after the children's birthday, Nana could take her rehabilitation a little more slowly, but until then she would work her socks off as the saying went. She just had to be able to do a few things for them, and herself*

Xol wasn't phased in the least by Heswina's sudden outburst. In fact, quite to the contrary, he was just staring blankly at the barrier to which just had a fair amount of large trees slam into it. On the other side was his target. Well, not neccessarily his target per se, more so an irksome stepping stone. Nevertheless, KB was a threat and would/should be dealt with swiftly and accordingly. Which he had planned to do before Hes's sudden outburst behind him.

"Damn it Heswina, calm yourself! You may loathe KB, probably even more so than I, but you must know you're blowing your chance to seek revenge by your petty outbursts of rage. We will wait untill he gains entrace into the barrier. After that and only after that will we strike. I don't care what you do to him just so long as I can get into the Citadel. Understood?"

His voice was a low hiss, cold and fierce as he continued to glare at the Citadel, seemingly through it and to the man on the other side. KB. Things were going down a less predictable path. He didn't like unpredictable. It meant things could get sloppy and future opportunites ruined. He had a plan and than plan was going to go accordingly.

"Just calm yourself for a few more minutes and you can exact whatever revenge you wish..."

Xol's voice was less harsh, but still as cold as before. Even though she was making her way towards him, he made no attempt to move. He didn't have to as she wouldn't dare attack him. Not because of fear, but because of respect. Even if she had lost all rationality she would know a strike against him at this point in time might very well be her last.
