Hnn?
*So Xol had survived; the man who had kidnapped her, drugged her, interigated her, fed her information meant to sully Mastema's image and turn her against him, and eventually poisoning her though that was an accident. He'd had a change of heart, just what did that mean? Nana would continue to listen*
=____=
............and how can you be so sure?
*Nana had obvious reservations about Xol, and what of the children? Xol had taken Nana's time from her children. Time she'd never get back, and for that she was probably even more cross at the man. Truce or not. She had missed so much of their childhood. They had been running about freely without care. If Nana had never been kidnapped, by now they'd be learning magic, learing how to fly, learning, learning, learning... For the moment, she'd say nothing about the alliance*

At the moment, I have good faith in that commitment. Xol may not be an entirely trustworthy person, but he is a man of resolution. If he seeks something then he will do what he can to attain it. At the moment, he has other, more potent opposition that he wishes to eradicate. He considers himself and myself as equals, and find that an alliance would be beneficial. For the moment, doing away with me would do him no good, and breaking this alliance would only get in his way. You may put your faith in my judgment Nana. Neither you nor the children nor any other innocent in this citadel will come to harm because of it. Aside from the alliance, I will see to that myself. *Mastema continued to brush his hands through Nana's hair while he spoke. His tone was one of confidence, reinforced confidence* Believe me dear, my reliance on the truce is not even secondary. Your safety will be assured by me and no foreign entity

Yes, well that resolution of his has cost me months out of the lives of our children and you aswell, not to mention my health. If you and Thanatos hadn't come, he could have had the resolution to have eradicated me aswell, along with whom ever else he has his eyes set on now.
*It was obvious that Nana didn't like it, but did this mean that Xol would also be attending the confrence Mastema had planned? Would she have to be reminded again about how he had nearly killed her, and for what? Nana couldn't really be sure at all. At the time it sounded as if Xol might have been working with heaven against Mastema, though Xol thought the same of Nana, thinking she was with heaven and ushuring a deal with Mastema to remain safe from their wrath. Xol still didn't know Nana was a fallen angel, though that would make little difference now. Nana wanted to have trust in Mastema's descision, but for the moment her thoughts were probably too clouded to see it from his side of things*

*Mastema of course agreed with Nana that Xol should not be paid much attention to, and as he'd said, Mastema didn't even pay the alliance the attention of a secondary resource. Right now it was just a loose truce between him and Xol* I remember quite well what he did, Nana. I have not forgotten nor do I intend to let it fade from memory. However, had I not accepted, he made it quite clear that this place would again be targeted. If I can delay that intent long enough to build more defenses, then the alliance will mean nothing anyway. This is a way of gaining more time Nana. Already Xol is confronting the same enemy who attack this citadel. If the two go after each other, then it only saves the citadel the cost and burden of fighting *Mastema peered down at Nana, specifically to her eyes. He was never one to form solid alliances with someone he did not already know. The only affliates he trusted were those given the name "general" in the citadel* If I could do more, then I would Nana. But for now this is the most I can do.

*So in a way, it was Xol twisting Mastema's arm. Join in an alliance or be attacked again; Xol, such a crude being in his nature. Yes and what of the citadel defences? What metal that could be salvaged from the melted down droids might be recycled and forged into new droids, more "brothers" for Proto. Right now Xol was attacking someone who had attacked the citadel in the past, or who was attacking it now? That part wasn't quite clear. Though there was merit in Mastema's words about Xol taking the fighting off of the Citadel's shoulders, it still didn't put her mind at ease about him being so close again in the first place*

*Mastema could tell with his own perception that Nana was disconcerted over the happening, but there was little more he could do. Mastema would just pat Nana arm lightly, trying to lift her spirits a little* Rest assured dear, he will not set one foot in our home, regardless of alliance. You need not fear encountering him or the children doing so. Still, let us leave the subject.... there are more matters which could influence the citadel. Everything in the citadel is fine at the moment. However, I did witness something most unexpected with my own eyes today. The Black Company dojo has been utterly destroyed. There is less left of its foundation than the area surrounding the citadel now. *So that was more news. The Black Company, the place where Nana knew Twi to live and Thanatos to have friends at was now gone*

*There was an obvious shift in Nana's appearance, from something disgruntled to a slight fear. The dojo was destroyed? Then was Twilight alright, or was he-- ? Not only that but the children had visited that place with Thanatos once. What if his friends were killed? What effects might ripple back to Thanatos? What effects might ripple down to the children who like sponges, soaked up everything? Nana had no way of knowing if her own, friend Twilight was alive or dead, for the moment at least. But who had destroyed the dojo, and why? Mastema seemed to have not expected the dojo to simply be gone, so just what had happened? It was a mystery that Nana wanted answers too, if only to bring closure*
=__=
..........where there any survivers? Was Twilight-- ? Hnn...

I arrived after the event had taken place. I cannot say exactly who was in it and who was not. I do know, however, that its destruction was an act of defiance. The very same enemy who sought to destroy the citadel earlier, the attack during which you were awake, attempted to invade and take over the dojo. The few that were there chose to destroy the place than let it be taken over. I do know that at least Draeken and his family survived. *Mastema internally mused himself with the thought that Twilight may have been vaporized in the explosion, but no such luck. Mastema knew well that the man was else where* Worry not, dear. Twilight was not at the dojo when it was destroyed. As of the moment he is elsewhere, though he will no doubt return to find it destroyed soon

*Nana had met Draeken and Phia once, one one visit to the dojo, though she knew not of their daughter. A sense of calm briefly held Nana, knowing that Twiligh hadn't been there, but what of his adopted son Axl and others? Were they simply, killed in their sleep or did they escape? Whatever the answer, Nana would more than likely pray for any lost soul who had come into being after the dojo's destruction. Friend, foe, enemy, Nana would still send them off in the only way she knew. It was a part of her character afterall, her softness*
....I hope no one close to him was killed, when the dojo fell. Nor anyone close to Thanatos.

*Once again, Mastema patted Nana's shoulder* There was seldom anyone there other than Draeken and his family. I do not believe many would have remained for its destruction, nor would Draeken have willingly destroyed someone in such a way. Thanatos knew only a few there, so I believe none of them were harmed either. Regardless, the main idea here is that the Black Company seems to no longer exist as a whole. Collectively, I do not believe them a significant threat any longer. But there are still many threats I am not completely aware of, and some of them may be plotting their own offensives. With one of them also having attacked the citadel in your sleep, it will be a topic at the conference. *So someone new had apparently assaulted the citadel in some way*

Hnn...
*The dojo was no longer a threat, no one was really ever there so it was doubtful many if any were killed, some new force in the area was around and trying its hand at something. Nana needed to be updated on the situation more than this, but too much at once might stress her more. But that left the question of where those refugees of the dojo would go now? Once being enemies of the citadel it wouldn't be at all likely for any to attempt entry. Though there was more than significant room for all of those from the dojo. With Xol as an ally for the moment it was unlikely they'd go to him either. Nana could only wonder, hope, and pray that the survivers would be all right*

*In truth there was little more to be said unless Nana asked questions. Mastema had only one last thing to divulge voluntarily: the victim of the new attacker* After the last battle, the prototype went to oversee the salvaging of the destroyed droids. It was at that time that the new attacker made his assault. I do not recall the sequence of the battle, but I do know that the attacker hastily retreated after inflicting heavy damage to the prototype. It still remained operational long enough to return, and Thanatos made emergency repairs to the prototype. Proto is fine now; he was watching over Trilla and Eecheb while they were out. *So Proto had been attacked while trying to care for his fallen comrades. No doubt Nana and Eecheb would share similar feelings towards that. Yet, he'd willingly returned right to the duty of safeguarding Nana's children after receiving severe damage*

Hnn... Proto.
*Nana would thank Proto, once she could, though her words could never be enough to express her true feelings. Since the moment Nana had fixed up and re-activated the prototype unit, it had been as a friend. Twilight was Nana's only friend outside of the citadel, and Proto, within it. How could she possibly convey her feelings of gratitude to Proto for all it had done, and how could she share its sense of loss over those it considered its siblings?*

*Nana would find herself suddenly but softly embraced in Mastema's arms, in his attempt to once more lift her spirits* I believe t he prototype is presently on floor one, where it usually is. I apologize for giving you so much to take it, but it is better now before there is even more. What would you like to do? Do you need more rest?

Hnn, yes but not right this moment. I think I should start trying to build up my muscle strength again. If I'm to attend the confrenece, and keep up with the children it should be my number one priority. Then after that, yes, then I can rest again.
*Nana wasn't going to waste any time, she was going to make sure she was well again, and as soon as possible. That alone was encouraging, and with Mastema there for support Nana would do just fine. She had a goal she needed to reach, and it was ever important. The children's first birthday was approching fast, and Nana wanted to be able to attend ever so badly, if only for them*
