As if on cue, Xol landed on ground some twenty odd feet in front of the barrier. He could already make out KB and his drone making their way towards him, well, more specifically the Citadel.

"Such a fool KB... although I once too would foolheartedly rush blindly into certain death so I have no room I guess."

Xol simply chuckled and crossed his arms, choosing to wait untill he was in comporable danger before transforming into his true form.

It seemed KB had a habit of taking his children into danger, even his starving daughter. The way he treated his own flaws was barbaric to say the least. However, he turned without warning and moved to the underbelly of the drone behind him. A quick couple of buttons opened the hatch, which revealed room enough for one child. The last bit of room KB hadn't had any idea with which to place. Shrugging, he now put his daughter inside the massive drone, and closed the hatch. Finding oneself inside the anatomy of a walking war-machine would no doubt be stressful, but KB didn't seem worried. As he walked away from the drone, the drone and Eva would vanish. They'd end up where they came from.

In any case, KB now approached the barrier. Keeping his distance from Xol, it seemed. Though he wasn't worried about Xol at all really. After all, KB had come to test a couple of things, and Xol would most likely feed into that test perfectly. That is, unless he'd completely changed his fighting style. Standing about 30 feet from Xol, KB chuckled.

Mastema

*Mastema's hand raised slightly and pat Nana's arm. It was probably the final thing she'd need to come to consciousness. However, Mastema was a little annoyed that KB had come with this kind of futile act again. Mastema could only imagine what kind of boredom KB must face in order to keep drawing him back to futility. One day, if given the chance, Mastema would turn one of KB's children into the power source for another Zenogais. If Mugiri returned with Kaiden, that might just be what Mastema would do* Good evening, dear

*for now, KB would be greeted with the same thing as ever: nothing*

No words left Xol's mouth as KB approached him and his mechanical monstrosity dissapeared from view along with the child. Instead, in a blur of movement comparable to the 'battle' in the crater earlier today, he was moving towards KB. Two thick blades roughly two feet ( give or take ) expanded from the top of the gauntlets to which Xol let dangle loosely at his sides.

"..."

He still uttered no words as he closed in on KB with unparalleled speed. When he reached striking distance, Xol stopped abruptly and jumped a fair way backwards, casting the area between then in a shroud of thick dust.

Three orbs would flare to life, black with sky blue energy coursing around them and a dark crimson core. They would sear through the air as they made their way at KB, one to his left, another to his right and the final one above his head.

Xol dashed again at KB and again stopping with in striking distance, but this time leaping above and twsiting in air to land behind him. Upon a successul landing, he would slice both blades towards KB's neck in an 'X' formation.

*Finally squinting her eyes and opening them for the first time in days, Nana would be awake. At first she'd be a bit sleep confused, but that would quickly pass, and after it did Nana would address Mastema. Rollling over from her spot to face him, Nana finally spoke. Having been re-energized by Mastema a few days prior, Nana had a lot more energy than she had otherwise had recently. It would probably be enough to move around at least a bit if needed, and would be more than enough to keep Nana awake so that she might hear what Mastema had to say*

*Mastema found himself easily amused by Nana's grogginess at waking up. Brushing a few strands of hair aside from Nana's forehead, Mastema would still remain laid back on the bed* Your voice already sounds stronger than before. How do you feel? I gave you enough energy to finish your bodily healing at the very least. *Sitting himself upright next to Nana, Mastema put himself in a more suited position to aid Nana. At the same time, he observed the skirmish between Xol and KB. Xol had only recently returned, but his presence had already been all over the region. If Xol was going to take on KB, then it was already an advantageous gain for Mastema, and would make it easier for Mastema to convince Nana of the allegiance's usefulness*

Hnn... I'm glad. heart

*Nana would smile a little more brightly than usual, it was nice to have a bit of energy for once. But enough to finish her healing? Well that was just a blessing if it was really true. Breathing a light sigh, Nana would look up to Mastema in his new place. She rather enjoyed his company, and she was probably just yearning for the company and conversation too*

=___=

Hnn... certainly better than I have for the past several months. How have you and the children been holding up?

Xol

When Xol had sprung at him in a sense, KB recoiled in a backwards summersault. The resulting energy flew past overhead, and as he came to his feet he'd find himself far from Xol. That wasn't to stop him however directly. As he stood, the two arms from beneath the cloak would reach out, a traditional longsword in each hand. The first held in the left was outwards at a high guard across the body, the other simply held back waiting for a moment to strike.

However, the cloak fluttered once more as two black shortswords shot out from it's depths. The two black-bladed swords would hover in front of KB's guard, as he awaited Xol's next move. Clearly it seemed KB had no need to see his opponent in the tradtional sense. Though, a soft mumbling could be heard from beneath the cloak, and some shuffling.

Xol jumped away from KB and his blades, still at his back though. His own blades would disengage from the top of the gauntlets and situate themselves in his clasped hands. Without warning the two blades shot out of his hands, two heavy chains connecting them to his wrists. Although it looked as if the chains would slow the blades down, they did not. They were lightning quick, snapping out and slashing at KB's back ( face if he turned around ) and body before zipping back to Xol and zipping back out just as fast. A silver flame covered the whole length of the blade and chain, causing them both to burn white. This seemed to currently have no ill-effect on Xol himself for the moment.

Every time the blades would come back to Xol, he would send then back out at KB instantaneously. Although the angles, arcs and speed of each blade would vary greatly.

(( If you've played the game, God of War, you'll fully understand what I'm talking about. 3nodding ))

(( KB is already facing Xol. He's dextrous. Backwards summersault and all. xd Though I've never played the game, I think I grasp the concept. ))

Under the flurry of blows, KB would be fighting defensively. He didn't seem phased by the speed of the blades as he parried them, even though he fought blindly. However, his spell had finished, which would cause him an unseen benefit. A contingency effect he doubted he'd need, but had placed nonetheless. Regardless, as the blades came at him, two more arms appeared from under the cloak, each carrying a sword slightly shorter than the first two. The arms and blades would dance together in perfect unison, the four acting to block Xol's crazy attack pattern as KB furthered himself from Xol.

Effectively, the two black-bladed shortswords lunged forwards at Xol of their own accord. Guided by what would seem to be only the wind, their attack pattern would be nearly erratic as they closed the distance. The first would thrust up towards Xol's head, whilst the other zipped low and then shot up to try and slash his ribs. In any case, having finished his spell and taking advantage of Xol moving back, KB was now wielding 6 blades with grace.

Xol used one of his own blades that was retracting towards him already to ensnare KB's blade coming towards his head. The chains would coil around the sword almost like a snake and attempt to melt it, which, unless the trapped blade were impervious to heat, wouldn't be that hard as the chain was superheated to nearly a million degrees kelvin.

However, the second blade aimed at his ribs would strike the mark. It impaled him for the briefest of seconds before he wrapped his free gauntleted hand around it's hilt and pulled it out followed by a burst of black mist.

He threw the blade to the ground and stomped on it before his second blade returned to his hand. With a arch of his brow, Xol sent both his blades underground. They tunneled to KB and would burst out of the ground under foot. One aimed for his right inner thigh while the other tried to either cut his left arm off or coil around it like it did with his blade and burn it off.

Xol's eyes flashed to their multicolored state and two more orbs formed in his gauntleted hands.

In the superheated coils of Xol's chain, the black-bladed shortsword would melt. It seemed to become liquid metal nearly instantly, and in a burst of telekinetic power exploded point blank in front of Xol. Of course the liquid metal would burn, but for the most part the bigger problem would be if the metal stayed on long enough to cool.

That aside, the second sword that had been thrown to the ground acted of it's own accord. As Xol made an effort to stomp on it, the blade would barrel roll to the side, tumbling between Xol's legs before shooting upwards. KB knew from past fights that Xol didn't posess sexual organs unless the situation was appropriate, but as the blade came up it aimed to tear deeply into Xol's left thigh. Assuming that Xol was based off the average humanoid structure, the thigh would in theory cause a lot of mist loss. In any case, KB was hoping the heat in the air around Xol's weapons would suck dry all the moisture, and effectively dissipate the mist entirely. Such an effect might seal the wounds shut, but in theory might make the loss irreversible.

The one remaining shortsword aside, KB moved with fluid grace as the blades shot underground. A quick backstep with his long legs moved him out of the way of the blades, though only barely. So barely in fact, that he'd brought both pairs of swords together upon each chain. Attempting to catch them in a scissorlock with each pair of swords, one might assume he meant to cut the chain. KB's mechanical voice would growl, before begginning to go fuzzy and simply blank out. The swords he wielded would seem to manage to take the heat, though everything around him didn't seem so lucky. The cloak that adorned his body burst into flame to reveal his full stature, though the exoskeleton would definately be scorched. His wings revealed, they stayed folded close to his back to avoid being damaged or interupting combat.

The six eyes would lock onto varying targets in the very instant the hood stopped blocking their path. Two would dedicate themselves to the blades and linked chain. Another pair would briefly dedicate themselves to tracking the orbs that formed in Xol's hands. The last pair didn't seem to focus on anything in particular, but rather served as standard sight. At this point in time, KB was operating at less than the desired effectiveness. Of course, the stature of his metallic frame was daunting, and an odd pair of weapons were strapped on his legs, one on the outside of each thigh. They seemed to be oddly designed versions of an uzi. Of course, as one might expect thermal imagering had been turned off.

*Mastema nodded at her response* I would hope so. I believe your presence would bring some life back to the citadel truthfully. *Chuckling, Mastema moved his hand to the back of Nana's head, his fingers lightly stroking Nana's hair and massaging the very top of her neck* The children are just fine. Micha is fully himself again in all respects I can count. Eecheb and Trilla have been spending their time together out in the citadel. Thanatos has been preoccupying himself with any work he can find and is presently sleeping off a great deal of exhaustion. As for myself, I seem to be responding to nuisances and threats every other moment. There have been several more attack attempts since you last fell asleep, most of them far more brief than the battle which had the children here with you. Sadly to say, the land just outside of the barrier has been reduced to little more than land scars, burns, craters, and other less than aesthetic damages. I have had to keep myself updated on several things and take care of them. Quite a bit seems to be happening around the citadel.

--___--

Hnn... heart

*Nana would lye back and listen, to Mastema speak. It was good to hear that the children seemed well, and were more or less getting along. Word of the citadel being attacked several more times wasn't so good, and worse the shape the land was now in. Though Nana might have a cure for that, if given proper time. The surrounding lands that were about the citadel were so lovely, to hear that they had been destroyed or worse made Nana a bit sad*

=___=

Hnn... so it would seem.

There is a good deal more as well. Xol Solaris seems to have once again risen after the destruction of his keep, after it self detonated from my infiltration with Thanatos. However, the man has had some sort of change of heart. I know from meeting him in person. *Mastema made sure that his tone was one of understanding, as he had not disregarded the kidnapping of Nana when allying with Xol* Though I far from rely on the man, he and I have made a sort of truce. We are supposedly at each other's aid, but I doubt such a resort would be necessary. Never the less, it will keep him from being a nuisance, and he will most certainly make no attempt like his last on anyone in the citadel.... *Mastema was being objective about it, but he of course had feelings on the subject. Even if she could never trust the man again for what he'd done in her time at the citadel, Mastema hoped Nana could at least see the objective mutual benefit from the alliance*
