"I see. Well I need to do something to garner a bit more respect aroudn here. and short of conquering someplace, I am finding very little. Suggestions are open if you have any. And no...but I didn't do anything really but dig with a shovel and pickaxe. and build walls."

Oh boy. why did he get the feeling he was going to get a very long lecture now?

"Not horribly so, no. I think I could probably suffer through it." To be able to just sit and watch the horses all day long, who could ask for a better job than that? To be able to see them playing with each other, watch Faete and Trissarem nipping and flirting with each other in that particular horsey kind of way. Watching Nightmare hold court over her herd and Serino beside her, indulging her as was his way. "I won't even make you suffer with me, it'll be my contribution to this since I've never shoed a horse before."

And she duely gave a look to Kieran, who was holding Malikhai, with that 'are you going to do something about that?' look. "You want to see upset? Tell Piper you did that...and yes it will be your fault and not his. And the last thing you need is your baby getting sick from something he picked up off of someone else because he wants to put everything in his mouth." Short and sweet was Fianna's style...that way if you missed it she could yell at you all over again. It was fun.

A simple little bounce of the infant in his arms got him distracted enough to let go of Malik's finger and look to what caused the bump in his nice comfy position that he had wriggled himself into. Kieran made a chuckle and looked to Malik. "May I suggest you not anger the women about thier babies?" An inclination of his head to Fianna. "She actually hurt me for something like that when Pip was little. Wasn't pleasant, involved runes. Hurt for days."

"And you learned your lesson." But her attention went back to Malik now. "So then, you want a runic game of sorts on some scale... I'll think about it. It's not easy and I don't enjoy bleeding from various facial features."

Piper gave a little melodic laugh a that, shaking her head lightly and then sighing lightly. "Oh fine, I'll make you suffer alone then and take notes and what not. I'm sure you'll be fine and will live to do it again the next day." Leaning against wooden structure she was quiet a moment before looking to Zahara. "You want to get a drink with me?" Because it struck her to have one and well she hadn't had alcohol in months. Celebratory glass seemed to be in order, and she knew Zahara fancied a drink or two.

"Lucky me, indeed. I guess that means no lessons for a little bit of time. Sevilin will be utterly thrilled." She pushed herself off the stall she was leaning against and glanced at Piper. "Sure, why not. I haven't really had a reason to drink which is probably why it didn't taste very good. That or Malik wouldn't let me have the good stuff. Are we drinking the good stuff?"

"Oh yes, the good stuff. Something of the Tier'dal persuation." Thus motioning for her to follow, leading her back inside and to the kitchen. Hey she couldn't be run out of the house if she had an excuse, besides, she spent a good amount of time out there. Thusly rifling through the kitchen to get glasses and the bottle of wine, pouring them each a glass. She picked up her own and handed Zahara hers. "A toast then? To getting back to old ways but with new twists?"

"As much as I'm not really fond of that particular elf, they do have lovely wines." she followed Piper inside and leaned against the kitchen sink while Piper sought and found glasses and the treasured bottle they were looking for. Holding her glass she smiled, "To old ways with new twists indeed." Clinking her glass against the other one she lifted it to her lips and took a swallow. "Mmm, good stuff. Tastes much better than the bland wishing it was elven wine. This," she said indicating her glass. "Is vintage."

"I believe that Your Lady is not actually bothered by Celeste, but merely feeling sympathy for the blight of our lovely she elf." Cedric said with a cheerful and appriciative smile, "But I may be ascerting my perspective as the truth, and not actual know. Why do you think it is that Meilikki is saddened by Celeste's presence?" Cedric leaned against the wall. The room had emptied save for the dog and he, so he felt no need to remain pernamently forward, and tried to relax as best he could.

"I have no intention of angering the ladies about thier babies."

A slight grin at them both.

"But I am going to be expanding my land. Piper wants more horses, and to breed and maintain a large herd is going to require more land than I have at present. Which will enivitably mean conflict. either with orc tribes, or others. I plan to exand primarily toward the Purian Peninsula, due to teh higher abundace of grazeable and farmable lands. While a Zephyr may not need food, unfortunatly the same does not hold true for Nightmares and Pegasi."

A glance between them both.

"What do you know about tunneling and th enforcement and defense of said tunnel? I know how we did it in Neriak, but I doubt we have access to such large amounts of mithril or adamantine. Nor the manpower that are properly trained to defend it constantly. I was wondering if there was a surface trick or a runic one to solve this slight dilema. And one for communication of large distances, and quick translocation travel, as I am thinking about taking the land that the former wizen watch tower occupied."

Ah...alcohol. What a wonderful thing to feel it sliding down her throat...very much missed taste. Of course it would be better if she trew some cinnamon in it but beggers couldn't be choosers and well she was perfectly happy with just this. "Definately the good stuff, after all, Malik never settles for less on anything. Though I suppose even now one glass would be my limit...can't get tipsy with a baby to take care of now can I? I'm sure Malik would throw a fit and lecture me."

Kiearn would be the one who had that rock tunneling in the bag, after all, he was the one who lived in the mountains, as well was the main holding on the mining industry in Andal. "I know of an substance we use to tunnel out easily, dissolves the rock but is no danger to anyone else, and leaves nice clean even edges. Using that we usually have no need to reinforce since the erosion is controlable. But of course we do have yet another sustance that we effectively pain on the walling to act as a reinforcer without support beams or anything being needed."

Yes he remembered it all well...in fact just a few months ago before he had come here again, he had been dealing with such a project once more. "Communication, well I'm sure we can get you some more pairs Link Stones to solve that one. Though they only work in pairs, but sometimes thats for the best, no one can cross into your communication paths."

"Runics made a good defense though. The whole of Torea is rune guarderd, as is Ryliah and I'm sure you saw the illusional such things on your way to Fharian. So I suppose, what with you haveing Inthara and all, or even yourself...though I'd recommend you abstain from it...you could maintain a runic defensive to repel anyone you don't want in them. Can also work at lighting or have something else for that."

Noises. We're not paying attention to me and I need attention, squirming some in Kieran's hold again, seeking that attention, flailing little fists lightly before bring one to hold to the corner of his blanket so he could suck on it and then clenching fingers of another until he got Kieran's eyes, only giving him more squirming till he go that nice rocking motion for the one who held him.

"One of the characteristics about that man that I actually like. And Eili knows those are few and far between." She swirled the wine about in the glass watching it change colors slightly as the concentration was altered. Zahara always got quiet when it came to talking about the kids. She couldn't very well agree with Piper since she didn't have that issue, now could she? And were she to say anything to the contrary, well that would only start up a fight. Though speaking of children...she wondered how Sevilin and Zykariel were doing without her... "That's all I'm having. Wine just isn't one of my favorite things anymore."

"Because Mistress does does not understand the reasons why Celeste acts as she does. Or so is what I think. Celeste sighs often, and has sad eyes. I feel depressed when i look at them, I assumed my Mistress felt the same."

He laid down in the dirt. "I am not a very good companion, yet."

Meilikki shook her head. "It was not a question of like or dislike. We simply didn't know each other well. My home was far and dangerouse to get to, and he is a very busy wizard. It doesn't matter now really. Our lines have almost died out. The legacy of the First's is comming to an end."

She waved a hand dismissively. "You know you like him...just in a very roundabout unshowing and rough sort of way. Same way he cares about you really. It's kind of cute at times." Giving a little chuckle to that...they could deny it all they want, but they weren't nearly as nasty to each other as they used to be. "Really? You used to drink two or three glasses. Just lost the taste for it after not having it for so long?"

She shrugged, unwilling to admit out loud that her hostility for the blue elf had dropped quite a few notches, though it clearly had. Might have something to do with that fight of theirs where he'd revealed a bit to her and she had learned interesting things. And then again maybe it was just her mellowing out and him becoming a husband, then a father. Who really knew? "I think so. I had a glass right after I first had Zykariel and it just didn't taste nearly as good as I thought it would. Other than that I haven't had time to drink and I guess I've gotten used to not having it. Now it just tastes funny most of the time, doesn't give me the satisfaction it used to. You're not suffering from the same thing? You lucky elf."
PostPosted: Wed Oct 04, 2006 2:22 pm

"Well, it's a bit more potent than I remember it, but no I'm enjoying the little taste of normalcy. Then again I was never a really heavy drinker anyway and usually put cinnamon in it. You should try it that way, may put the fireworks back in it for you." A little shrug then, drinking down the rest of her glass. Ah yes, was good...though she didn't pour herself another glass, for she was indeed going to be good. Your expectations were probably too high and it just ruined it."

"You're probably right. It was quite a bit of a letdown when I took a sip. I was expecting the flash and bang I used to get and well it was just not there. Kind of turned me off to wine in general though this stuff might be worth having a glass a day. I just don't think I'm into drinking the way I once was." She shook her head and hopped up so she was sitting on the counter, crossing her legs at the ankles and letting them sway a bit. "Things change, funny the way they do isn't it?"
