Rushifa
wow, everything seems to be working really well this month; I'll have to get back in to the habit of checking the guild daily. I'm sorry I haven't been on as much, but I've had lots of homework this week. I'll try to get around to editing some of the submissions this week. I figure if I use it as a break from homework, I can at least get some done. Same goes for my column, although I have a pretty good idea how I'm going to reformat it.

Oh, and I think Radioactive alchemist is a friend of mine, so someone else should edit their piece/s, I suppose.

Aderyn is a friend of mine, so someone else should probably edit her piece.

And Serieve? Does the limit for prose include Badger Brigade?

Does the limit for prose include Badger Brigade?

Yeah, unfortuately. Mainly, I want to keep in mind the length of the entire prose section and the quality, balancing the two out. That's the plan, anyway.

And don't worry about editing a friend's piece, so long as you're sure you can do it without any real bias. Actually, being friends should make it easier; they seem like the understanding type of people who crave criticism. Give it to them. 3nodding

I'll give it to them too, soon as I find a moment not occupied by laziness and homework. It's a bit late now, but I may sneak some in anyway. Somehow.

Alright, will do!

I'm still a bit confused about how the editing process works sweatdrop So, they're currently all in the Mounds, right? And from there we edit them, and then post them in the Oasis? As for editing, am I allowed to change minor, grammer related things without having to contact the author?

edit: oh, and the review for this month will be Memiors of a Geisha. It's in my thread, and I can mark it with a smily face, or something. Or I can post it here, or in the submission thread, if that is easier.

Yes, the submissions are currently in the Mound, with the exception of the one I checked and posted in the Oasis.
You can change grammar related things and mispellings, so long as they aren't intentional of the writer, or, if you do not see any, you can go ahead and post the piece straight in the Oasis.

alright, cool

So we have to go over the submissions, edit them if needed, post them in the Oasis, and then select which ones we will use.
Did I miss anything there?

Do we need some things for the Watch?
Actually, I can just check that.

Has the optional section been decided upon yet?

And does Rushifa need a banner for this month's issue?

Oh, it appears I was wrong about radioactive Alchemist; I in fact to not know them. I was getting their screen name mixed up with a friend of mine's sweatdrop Anyway, I read their story and am going to post it in the oasis. It was already edited, so that made my job easy, and it's very interesting!

As far as I know, yes, I still need a banner... My column is done, btw, completed rewriten. I think it's edited enough, although I will give it another look-over.

A banner.
Rushifa's Reviews, right?
I don't suppose you know the font used in the other banners? I asked Serieve, but I haven't recieved an answer yet.

No no, her column is the Geek Chick one. There's a thread not too far down. And I don't know what font it is (sorry). Dev had the original and never told any of us what it was, so the other gurus have been using fonts that were similar to it.

Rushifa: Jaho and Whim are both using pics in their column this issue, so if you would also like to have your pic included, have it ready and post it in your column thread, and I can put it in. The biggest size is 150x165, so no bigger than that, neh? That shouldn't be much of a problem anyway. Smaller is okay too.

I edited a few pieces and put them in the Oasis by editing some past posts to recycle them, so the first page doesn't have anymore used pieces now. I'll be updating the first few posts soon, then I'll have to go to bed.

Tomorrow I plan to insert more pieces into the draft and start voting for BOI, 1st RU and 2nd RU. Then I'll work on the Watch. Do we have any ads ready that we can use this issue or should we wait to sort it out? Maybe just put our own ad in calling for ads? And how will we do the fees?

As for the Optional sections, I would really like to have a Critic's Corner piece, so if anyone would like to critique one of the pieces and post it in the Draft thread, that would be wonderful.

Deab, when you've got the Beyond the Box ready, I set aside a post just for you in the Draft thread, so you can use that.

Lastly, if there are any particular pieces that you want to go in the draft, just mention them here and it'll give them more leeway. I'll have a hard enough time choosing as it is, since they're all really good and publishable. So feel free to offer suggestions.

3nodding Thanks everyone.

Geek Chic: A Girl's Guide to Geekdom
I have been unable to figure out what font Dev used, but the font used on the more recent is Vivaldi Italic Condensed, if I am not mistaken.

There have been no specific ad-requests, though there have been a few people that mentioned they might wish to place an ad. If you like, I can go look through the threads to see who.

Also, I'm ending submissions.

The Beyond the Box issue is halfway complete. Is the format ok? I'm still waiting on a few writers to get back to me with their essays, so I'll be adding to it in the next few days.

Oh, and any play on my name that y'all wish to call me by is fine by me. sweatdrop

Also, Serieve, a few posts back I posted the pilot episode of a comic I'm working on as a side project. It's geared towards writers, theater-geeks and gamers ((The main characters being as such.)) If you wish to include it as a feature of the Press, feel free.

Lilly -- Nice job on Rushifa's banner!

Jaho -- Do you only have that one pic of yourself that you always use everywhere? xp

Whim -- Now that, my good man, is a full beard! Many a young dwarf would be jealous of you.

What if we used a Staff spotlight instead of a Critic's Corner? Only instead of what alice had in mind, we highlight only one staffie: Deab. Put in her comic, she writes a blurb, and there you go.

idea bling bling.

EDIT: Banner? Have you already finished the banner, Lilly?

Also, just as an idea, the gallery may have a banner we can reuse. If Rushifa likes it, I thought that the Contest Finalists banner looked like a Geek Chick kind of thing. Unless you were aiming for more tomboy. Whatever. Anyway, if you haven't already found an image, that particular banner would just need the text changed.

Just a suggestion.

No, I have not already finished the banner, having been laid up in bed until a little while ago.

As for the banner, lemme go take a look at it.

She hasn't finished the banner, but had earlier talked about finding the right font for it, and was encouraging her. whee
