http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GurpsBasically an RPG system that can adapt to any genre you might think of. Personally, I don't think it would really work because of the reliance on numbers for just about everything. Numbers for strength, dexterity, intelligence, health, hit points, will, perception, fatigue, skills, skill levels...
Then take into account the dice rolling for every action, whether it be bashing someone in the face or writing a book. As well, it'd take getting used to that each character's turn is only one action, not two.
I just think it's too different from our system to really make the transition very pleasant. Not to mention, with it being dice-based, skill becomes a secondary aspect to the game. For instance, as it stands, people are scared of Hedoro. And with good reason. But if she tries fighting a peasant and they roll three ones on three die six, she's suddenly getting her rear handed to her. Doesn't matter how skilled she would be, the dice rule all.
That being said, I had actually tried acclimatizing the Tri-stat system to the guild, in an effort to give Genjutsu users a leg up in the world. Though now that they have the Gates, it isn't needed quite so much.
