Fare well, Luana *Maggie returns, and waves after her as she leaves*

Such a strange girl. *Bard turns back to Maggie, sliding his arms around her waist* Think she'll succeed in making her clock?

*Maggie smiles, returning his embrace* Well she seems te know what she's about with it. And from what she's told me, she's managed te put together all manner of things before, in her own time.

Really... *Bard ponders* You know, I don't even recall if she told me when she came from....

*Maggie nods, and then falls silent for a moment, her mind drifting back to their earlier conversation. She was always taught not to badger people about things, but . . . she looks up at him and asks tentatively* Ehm ... before Luana joined us, ye'd mentioned . .. that there was a book of yers that I might, perhaps, be able te try reading . . . ?

*Bard flushes* Well... there is one I think... but... well it's silly really. It's not very good.

*Maggie hesitates. She's not in much of a position to argue how good it is or isn't, nor does she want to push him over it, and yet .. . she remembers Linda's parting shot to her, the one time they met* I would like te read it, if I may ... I would like te very much.

*Bard hesitates* I... *he turns to her and his doubt melts into a smile* I'm sure we can find a copy in the library...

*Maggie's face lights up in a smile* Thank ye, Bard *she says, and then reaches to take his hand as they head toward the library together*

**Enter Luana from Guest Rooms**

Luana walked out from the hall carrying an odd structure of pink flamingo straws, cardboard, soda bottles, and other various clock materials that she and Cora had taken to her room earlier. The main room, she saw, was empty. Carefully she took it to the sink.

"You okay back there?" she called to Cora in the hall behind her.

:::Cora follows closely, making sure she keeps the pile of left over clock material balanced. It doesn't appear too difficult, though it's certainly a strange looking compilation:::

I'm not having trouble carrying it, if that's what you mean.

:::She called back. There was little bit of excitement in the air. Both the girls were getting ready to see if it all worked:::

Luana carefully mounted what looked to be a small version of a clear plastic ferris wheel in the sink, pressing down firmly on the partially hardened wax that would hold it in place. It was just tall enough so that the wheel's axel poked over the edge of the tub, and from it stuck out a long and thin beem... which was suspiciously bright pink.

She waited for Cora to set up the second part.

"It's wonderful, isn't it?" She held up the hourglass. "Now all there is to do is test it and time the revolutions."

:::Cora nodded and came along with the second part. It looked to be a stand that sat on the counter. It held up a free spinning spool of makeshift ribbon. All of which came from Cora's braiding collection... and a few stolen placeholder ribbons out of library books. It almost looked like a smaller version of a toilet paper dispenser.

:::She attached one end to the pink beem, and tested the angle:::

If the calculations are in order, counting for the chance of error and estimated reliability of the sealant, it is much more likely than not to work.

:::She couldn't help but slip back into her thoughts, away from the clock and from Luana for just a moment. Cora was proud of herself for replacing a figure like 67.874343% with 'much more likely than not':::
