He was about to tell Arthur that he was free now, but it seemed that Zahara had other plans as Zykariel was handed back and she went off into the arena and immediately challenged the boy, not giving him much of a chance to reject the offer at all. Though it seemed Zykariel wasn't too happy with being promptly handed off and his mother walking away.

How did Sevilin know this? Oh he had that, I'm about to cry look and he was making those little noises that added into the prelude to his crying. To which he immediately took to trying to comfort the child before he started...though he had caught it a bit too late as Zykariel more or less made a reach in Zahara's direction and the tears started.

Which got a sigh from Sevilin, who only took hold of the little hand in his own and pulled it in, before holding the child to his chest and patting at his back, making soothing noises. Well...he knew it was going to come sooner or later.

Us? Then again it seemed right that he would involve her when it came to Lharika, and the girl was a pleasant creature, despite other things that had happened. But Kieran was right, couldn't stay away constantly anymore because of her now could they? But Fianna had settled into her own musings as the men took to thier own little political banter, occassionally watched her daughter cater to her own son. "Pip you need to eat something soon, you haven't all day." Because someone had to keep her head on track.

Kieran on the other hand kept his focus to Malik.. "Boredom does tend to ignite chaos, though causing chaos merely to stave off boredom seems like you're just going in a reverse circle of eventual vicious nature. People don't like being run around in circles after all. "Well as for advice you know what I'm going to say most likely. Keep your sword sheathed and try to make yourself indespensible. Mayhaps not directly to Jiscal but to those associated to him, even if it happens to be his own kingdom and what not."

"Relax? I'd rather not." She rubbed at the back of her neck. "I seem to get very bored very quick when I am doing nothing." She shrugged. "And I'm staying away from wine. The last time I had some, funny things happened that I am told are not supposed to happen to elves." She was twirling her bow as she spoke, because she was afraid of become bored with talking. There had been a few times tlaking with Roarke or the pup-kin when she had simpley tuned them out and gone back to practicing, to their confusion of course.

Three tounges lolled out at the pet and Deidrick rolled his head under the hand to take the best advantage of the offered pat. He was a happy dog, and loved the attention.

Meilikki had become quite accustomed to her knew life. The constant come and go of new and familiar faces had put a glow in her face, and made her seem younger. Her hair had grown longer now where it once had refused to reach past her shoulders. She would tie it back at the nape of her neck with a ribbon that matched the colour of her dress.

Now she sat with Celeste on one of the rare occasions when she had nothing better to do. Tarathiel was in her lap, and she was brushing out the boys hair with a soft brush.

"Forgive me for being ignorant Celeste, but I am curious. Will Taratheil need schooling after his imbodyment?" She didn't really know how else to call it, but that seemed to suite well enough.

And there they both go, magic was going to start flying around and bouncing off the walls of the arena once they fully gotten into the swing of things, and as Arthur had predicted Zahara used some wind magic to send the earth balls he created off somewhere without that much of a thought. Then in a quick reaction the drow before him shook the earth underneath his feet to throw him off balance, which of course Arthur did lose for a moment letting Zahara gain the upper hand. Though of course she had to use a levitation spell, it was the quickest way to get away from the opponent without having to move much, unfortunately for Arthur he hasn't quite mastered that spell yet, he was getting close too but got a little side track with other spells so he can barely fly. But right now his focus was on Zahara as she had made a nice small mountain for herself so she could stand at the top and launch magic attack down on him, in which Arthur had to easily dodge which he had come accustomed to when he really needed to think of a plan. But in moments he had thought of one and brought out his katana in order to execute it, and with about nearly ten slashes of his blade Arthur managed to send waves of air up the mountain side to cut into the earth; each one going one step above the other which the result was a rockslide to bring her down and Arthur quickly moved out of the way sop he wouldn't get squashed. As the rockslide was going on Arthur kept his eye focused on Zahara as he started to charge his katana with a lightning spell, trying to find a perfect time to use it because of all the dirt and rock flying everywhere.

The blond child's hair was allowed to grow, but trimmed roughly every other day (simplebecause some people, Celeste, had the time to do it). He sat quietly, feeling very much appriciated which more or less defined why he existed, in his own mind.

Celeste looked at the child, and watched his intelligent eyes. "We shall see." She said with a rather distress voice. Tarathiel caused her a tremendous amount of despair. It was a rather horrible thing that Kimmuriel did to her. She cleared her throat and looked up at Meilikki. "He will need to learn some trade, be it craftsman or farmer."

"I want to be a warrior." Tarathiel said without thinking. His young voice sparkled with the divinity of his ancestry.

Celeste frowned. Tarathiel's first word had been killed which only added to her personal anguish. She could not muster a responce.

Onyx smirked lightly.

"Then lets have ourselves a bit of fun, shall we?"

and one of her twirls got stopped by basically a long spider fang attached to a hilt. Onyx had been learning from Elric about certain weapons, namely more on daggers and short swords. While he wasn't up to elven standards with the short sword, he was damn good with a dagger...but really, he was mostly deadly barehanded.

"Care to test drive my spiderfang dagger?"

Malik shook his head lightly.

"That's half the problem. I have very little that is of use to him. and through his alliances, what I can offer isn't very inticing. I thought surface raised food, exotic to them...silks adn such would be good offerings, but for the most part seemed to have been turned down. Not to mention they don't trust me anymore than your father did when he laid eyes on me."

A slight chuckle.

"Normally, I wouldn't care much on this. after all, I can repel most invasion attempts, as this place is rather nicely situated for defense. But I don't just have to worry about myself and piper, but a next generation. I don't want to burn bridges, but I also don't want to seem so passive as to be pushed around."

Meilikki ran her hands through the child's hair, her mind in other places. Taratheil was a great source of personal pleasure for her. Though the child was not hers, she felt something of a motherly spirit that she figured she might have had, had she been allowed to raise her own children.

Trade, in her mind, seemed rather dull and lackluster for Taratheil. "I know a good music teacher, if you wish for Taratheil to learn an instrument." She herself had been taugh to play the harp and the cello.

She merley chuckled at Tara's statment, seeing the pain in Celeste's eyes. She might have said something wise and comforting, as she often did, but was unncertain that Celeste could be comforted in anyway.

The dagger hit her staff and she suddenly dropped, swinging her left foot out and around under Onyx, tripping him. The bracer worked too fast, as usual, which ended up with her having her face in the dirt. "Uh...sorry." She blushed. "I've gotten into a nervous habit of lashing out. I'm kinda jumping." She whipped sand off her short skirt and helped Onyx back up. "But sure, why not?"

"What is an elf who cannot play an instrument? A Dwarf?" Celeste tried to alliviate her own tension. "I am certain when he is older, he would most certainly enjoy learning music." She hoped.

"Cell..." Tarathiel complained, thinking somewhat that Celeste would never allow him to raise a scimitar in battle. He crossed his arms and tried to pout, but his inability to be dispaired when he was being 'cuddled' preventing the act from invoking any favorable (from his perspective) responce.

So involved in the fight and really not attuned to the baby's cry she dnd't even hear it and went on as though it hadn't happened. Of course the rumble of the rocks kind of covered it up too. Zahara wasn't stupid, she watched him carefully and she knew he'd try to bring her down. Man just couldn't let a woman be above him, could he? Of course that wasn't involved with his particular psyche but she'd already preempted him and had leaped off the mountain she herself had built and dropping to the ground, landing easily on the balls of her feet with the normal elf elegance and grace. She stood even while the rocks tumbled and rolled behind her, withdrew her whip and watched him closely for a moment. She could be extremely mean right about now and completely disarm him in thirty seconds but she felt that was a little extreme. Snapping her wrist back she let the whip fly but not to let the end smack into his wrist to force him to drop the blade as she'd originally intended. Instead she wrapped the end of the whip tightly around his wrist and yanked hard on the other end to either force him to drop his katana or go sprawling on the ground.

Meilikki smiled. "I would not know, unfortunatly I am unfamiliar with the ways of elves. This knowledge is harder to come by, with ym now limited gift." She pinched Tara's cheek and whispered in his ear. "I have a small gift for you later, and you can rest assured it isn't a flute."

"Oh, Celeste, I've nerely forgotten. I've arranged for a split on the deed to the manor. I don't know how long I will be living, or who my home might be passed along to, but I would not be a happy soul if I thought you might be kicked from your home by the new poprieter. In a week, the west wing will literally beling to you."

Onyx smirked lightly, letting her help him up.

"I should have been expecting that."

A slight chuckle, slipping into a more defensive position. course it was strange looking. his right hand was out and down, though claws were still sheathed. the dagger closer to the body, the 'blade' held along the forearm.

"why are you so jumpy, anyway?"

Before a couple jumping steps and that dagger swung out, and under neath it was coming a simply palm strike, though had he been intending injury..those claws could have been used to puncture flesh.

Getting herself up, Fianna walked over to Piper, laying a hand to her daughter's shoulder to bring her up out of fascinated mother land that she was lost in. "You didn't hear me, did you? Come on." Thus making her get up, giving a look to Malik. "I'm borrowing these two." Then pushing Piper, Malikhai of course still in his mother's hold, to the kitchen and made her sit at the table while Fianna took it upon herself to make the woman something to eat. "It's easy to get lost with him, isn't it?"

"Very very easy. It's just...I don't know, this wonderfully serene feeling that just kind of washes over." She assumed that was from the bond they held, the child in such a calm and lucid state that he was quite comfortable and broadcasted that loud and clear. A blink up from her baby and a look to her mother. "That's...not a bad thing is it?"

"Of course not, you just need to learn to be able to pay attention to other things around you as well. Because sometimes people are discussing important things. Which brings up another topic. What would you think if your father wanted Lharika to come down here and stay for a while?"

"What about Sevilin? Could you use him? After all...having an Andalian rune mage in your service, who can manipulate and such things that no one else could touch, well being in a plane that they are not native too and no one else truely knows and is capable of preforming the art, couldn't you say...commission him out on your behalf?" There was Kieran thinking outside the box wasn't it? Yup.

Tapping blue tipped fingers on his chair's arm as he thought in the manner he usually did. "It is quite the little predicament...though I dare say you and I find ourselves in the same situation, having someone who is testing our resolves, seeing how far we shall push and how far we won't the sake of holding some kind of balance. And you know what I do...idly sit by until someone pushes and then I merely put my boot down. Not to mention you're dealing with humans right? They're a tough bunch...so quick to jump."

Okay he wasn't a happy child at all. Not one little bit. And Sevilin could guess why...it was from a feeling of semi abandonment. How did he know? He remembered it himself. It was being handed off without so much as a word or a look back and going off to do your own thing. See? He knew it would happen...well Zahara would be gone from the house soon enough...might as well get started.

"Come on you, let's go find something to distract you with hm?" Thus picking up the child in his arms and standing, a little whistle to Nym to get him on his shoulder and he made his way up from the arena with said crying child who was not a happy camper at all. Nothing like the crying of a baby to echo off walls, eh?

Well it seems that she already had an escape plan ready for the rockslide that Arthur created using his wind magic, of course she would have one this was Zahara after all she was more into magic than he was at the moment and she was more experienced in fighting with it. So he watched her in silence as she jumped off the mountain and landed on the balls of her feet with that elven feeling to it, just like everyone else had around here, except for himself of course. But as the rocks rolled around the both of them Arthur happened to noticed that Zahara pulled some sort of new weapon out, oh wait it was her whip that he noticed she was carrying around with her for the past little while, he never asked her where she had gotten it but thought that she had some experience with using a whip so it would be practical to use one in a fight. But in a blink of an eye the end of the whip had wrapped itself tightly around his wrist, and what was worse she had gotten it on the hand that held his katana; so basically she was planning to disarm him of his only weapon. Before he could do anything to prevent her from disarming him the whip was suddenly pulled hard and since Arthur did not let go of his katana he was suddenly pitched forward by the movement. Of course Arthur had to think fo something or if he wound up on the ground Zahara could easily beat him, so he pitched his body forwards to cause some slack with the whip was able to make his body go into a somersault and he landed in a crouched position in the dirt. Then quickly without a moment to spare Arthur launched the lightning from his free hand instead of his katana which was held up the by the whip.

Celeste smiled, "That is very kind of you." She said softly, "But I am not sure we will stay here long after you have passed away... Tara will be old enough to travel, and less impressionable to other elvish cultures, so we might..." Was she looking for excuses or merely not sure of herself at the moment. "That would be wonderful." She said after a brief pause.

Tarathiel smiled with glea, yet knew fully well that Celly had heard every word and would want to see what the gift was.

Cedric silently entered the training room, hoping to fing Roarke but alas confronting the image of two playful yougths engaged in formal life or death struggles. He paused, and watched their movements for a moment. The first obvious character of the fight was Aella's lack of control. She seemed to be encumbered still by the bracers. He chuckled. He did get her a thoughtful gift, she has something to do with her time.
PostPosted: Sat Sep 30, 2006 10:59 pm

Zahara was momentarily distracted by the sound of the crying baby and in fact she could see the child's face over Sevilin's shoulder as he exited the room. Hesitating at the sign of distress she wasn't paying attention and therefore took the full blow of the lightning Arthur had sent her way. the shock raced through her body and she dropped to her knees fisting one hand on the ground and gritting her teeth to keep herself from giving in. That had hurt and pissed her off. She pushed herself back to her feet and picked up the whip that had dropped to the ground. No more nice drow. Thus she lashed out with her whip, sending the cruel end whizzing through the air to smack Arthur's wrist, the very one that held the katana.

Malik shook his head.

"If this was an elven empire, or even a dwarven one, I might. but it's human, and they fear drow. which means sending him out on commission ups the chance that someone will try something stupid, like attempt to kill him. Not to mention the infighting and such over his power and how it tips scales. which means I give him to someone who shares some favor with me, someone accuses them of treason, I'm guilty by association."

a slight chuckle again.

"though it is a good idea. If it wasn't for Domina, I'd offer military support. but I don't want Jaraxle or his kind thinking I'm trying to beef up deepwater for an assault."

A tap of his finger against his temple. I want to avoid a conflict if I can. I'm hoping I cna get a brood of Drakklin, once I have them established, into the lands the Wizen tower was on. that puts me in a pincer position on Deepwater. makes me a more potent threat, and thus someone to be a little nicer to."

A look over toward the kitchen.

"But right now, I think they feel I'm an isolated, easy target. And I fear that the only way to change that is going to be by either repelling an asault, or lashing out premptively."
