Oh it was funny, Sevilin saw it easily enough, how he was trying not to look but obviously wanted to look. Hell, he should just look...what was the deal. Not like they were anything special. Surface elves and thier modesty. It was that kind of reaction that lured you in and made a fool of you. And then you were vulnerable. But he could really care less about those in the room right now, busy tending to his son and paying attention, learning the noises that he made and figuring what they meant and what not. He was not slacking at all.

Arthur paused for a moment, it was not helping him at all to see Zahara trying to fix her top while she talked to him, he was getting distracted. But when she told him what to do he stared at her with a shocked look on his face, she asked him to do what!? Arthur blinked a few times then looked over to Sevilin for a moment, him being there was not going to help this situation at all, plus their child was there and if his memory served him correct a person can still bring back memories from when they were an infant. But if he wanted to get healed by Zahara then he would have to do what she asked of him, so he had to weigh the options carefully in his mind; and having to take off everything was playing a key factor in all of this. Sighing in frustration Arthur bent down slowly and started to take off his boots. "Alright then fine..." He replied and when the boots came off he placed them off too the side with care. When he got to his pants he first took off the leather belt he wore then put that n a chair that was close to him and then went at the zipper and last but not least the button that held it all together. His hands kept the pants up for a moment as he looked at Zahara as if he was deciding to back out but in one swift movement everything from the waist down came completely off. "There, go for it." Was all he said as he crossed his arms against his chest.

Without batting an eyelash, she glanced down briefly then nodded. "Good. Now we can figure out just what's going on." Of course it occured to her that Arthur could just be using a make believe injury as an excuse to get some perverse attention from her and if that was the case, he was not going to be a happy elf because she'd make his made up affliction very real. Dropping to her knees before him in what was actually a very suggestive position she eyed him carefully, then poked and prodded slightly. His genitals were an angry red, and his skin was cool to the touch. "What in the name of Eili did you do to yourself?" Angry scratches abounded on his thighs and other spots as well. "Sleep with a sphinx?" Of course she was joking...just didn't have any idea how close to reality she was. Lightly she touched one of the worst ones and shook her head before she carefully healed each and every one of them. That wouldn't take away a lot of the soreness though that would ease the pain some. She'd hunt up something to put on it to make it all better.

Arthur thought at he would get some sort of snicker or chuckle from Zahara, but instead all he had was just a look down and a just a comment when made things a little reassuring, he was actually starting to feel a little more comfortable half naked around the female drow, as long as Sevilin didn't make a comment he be fine. Then without so much as a warning Zahara just walked over and dropped right down onto her knees to take a look at what Arthur wanted her to see, yet the position she was in kind if make the surface elf blush a little bit as he could feel her eyes go over everything; then when the poking start it made Arthur jump a little, hey he wasn't use to having a very sexy drow woman poke around him when he had his pants down, it was a very odd situation indeed. But the young elf stuck with it, Zahara knew what she was doing and he had to trust her, she did this for him once before when he fought Malik over a year ago but that was for his upper body; now she was able to see the rest of him as she wanted to. Though the comment she made on his condition made him go stiff for a moment, did he want to tell her the truth? His eye moved over to Sevilin incase the man was watching, he did not need any words of encouragement for that drow.
"Well your right...but it wasn't a sphinx..." Arthur's voice trailed off as he took a nice deep breath to calm himself, his eye seemed to have stared off like he was day dreaming. "The reason why most of my skin is red and cold because as I told you before I came here earlier and talked to Sevilin; he told me to use a lot of ice so when I went to my room that's what I did...the wounds..." There was another pause as the memories came flooding back, but when Zahara touched what seemed to be one of the worst wounds it brought Arthur back when he grunted just a tiny bit in pain. "Were from her..." His voice was bitter and it didn't have the gentle side of Arthur which was usually present, his hands were gripping his bicep muscles so hard that Zahara could hear the squeak of his leather gloves. Though by the time he was done talk Zahara had healed all of his wounds on the surface though he could still feel some soreness throughout this lower body. Sighing Arthur looked down at Zahara and asked. "You almost done down there?" He just wanted to know since he didn't feel like spending most of the day letting his nether regions be fully exposed to two drow's and their child.

She knew it. The signs had pointed to exactly that. Large lacerations on his thighs and genitals, an angry red from the impact of the ice, fear in his eyes, bitterness in his voice. From the evidence presented she had to conclude that he was raped. Slowly her hands stilled and she glanced up at Arthur for a long moment before meeting Sevilin's gaze. Unspoken questions passed, she saw Sevilin's curt nod in affirmation and cursed under her breath. "Son of a b***h..." Haunting memories were coming back and she needed a moment to catch her breath. Very slowly she pulled up his lower garment, careful to keep the fabric from irritating the tenderized skin. Then she gently helped him to step out of his pants, stood up and took Arthur's hands, keeping him from hurting himself anymore. "Sit down Galesen, you and I need to talk about this." Pushing him very carefully into the chair she'd recently vacated she dropped to her knees again so she'd be at his eye level. Trying to control her tone she gritted out. "Who did this to you? I want names and I want them now."

"Basilisk meat is toxic to humans." Cedric said in somewhat amazed tone, meaning, he was surprised that Onyx did not know that eating Basilisk meat caused humans to petrify. "The hide is worthless. A pointy stick got through it with the ease of a gust of wind, which means its not a very high quality skin. I would also like to point out, that its venom is toxic as well, and that courses through his veins, which makes him a rather unsavory traveling companion." Meaning, you are killing the plants by dragging the dead body over them.
He stopped in his tracks for a moment, "There is going to be a minor quake soon. It probably will not cause any real damage to the settlement, but nevertheless, we should stay away from loose rocks." The elf adjusted his path to take a somewhat slower rout to the east and and south. IT would take them around the oracle's property, and to the road that leads to her front gate.
"Not everything in nature was naturally born." Cedric said to Aella, "Some creatures, like Chimera, were crafted in laboratories, and set upon the world, either through the murder of their creators, or by the malevolent will of the would-be-gods. These creatures learn to populate the land, and become a parasitic entity. A Basilisk has no natural enemies, and eats everything. Thus, the spiders flee before it, and nothing but us will come along and stop its ruthlessness. There are places in this Labyrinth where these creatures number so great, traveling through those areas is not but suicide. Even Captain Kimmuriel sailed his ship around the waters with an over infestation of krakken and Scyllians."
"As Onyx can vouch, not every creature was created equal. SOme are naturally stronger and more capable than others, as an elf is to human. But that does not mean that the elf will always win, or that the elf is going to outlive the humans. An individual's will can decide the fate of battles, and turn the tide against any force no matter how great it is. Such as when a lowly drow captain managed to slay the general of Elflephonon." Cedric sighed, "The General was in every way the better fighter, but alas not even he could stand up to seven drow generals, and then one captain."
"As much as the odds seem against you, you must always walk forward. You may not be able to win the war and save the kingdom, but you can continue to live with the memory of that place. It is a grand duty indeed, to bear a whole society on your shoulders. It is even grander to try and bring a piece of it back. But, what is the correct decision? Should something that was destroyed be restored at the expense of another nation? Should a people be exorcised for merely living in the ruins of another's home, when he comes to take it back? Or, should someone accept that he must find a new place to live because the old was sundered?"
"It is important to understand that the beginning and the end of a journey, need not be born of flames and end in ashes. We should always strive to be that which we are, and not fall into the despairs created by our tragedy."
"The wind will blow over our dead bodies with the same fluidity that it flows through our lively hair. The waters will continue to rise and fall with the passing of a moon many have not seen, or can even contemplate the beauty that it's light has on the evening sky."
"Pain is always flowing freely like the rivers and streams that ignite our lives with the breath of life, but only you or I can decide how we understand and cope with that strife."
"Today, we killed spiders and a basilisk, who would still be alive had we not been born. Who is to say, that they would not be killed by another. Death is but one aspect of life, one which can be defied and exacerbated with equal defiance."
"Who is to say, that some necromancer or divine servant is not planning on channeling the spirits of those dead monsters into a form which will strike against us, and in killing these creatures we bring about our own destruction? Retribution is never fare behind such intents. As we have seen with the countless raids from the southern orcs, we can expect that the see of evil shall overflow with desire to do us harm."
"Corellon once stood proudly before my people, and promised us that he would remain with us, as long as we hold his blood within our veins. As elves were created in the war between Gruumsh and the beloved, and from the blood spilled upon the material realm we rose to continue the battle."
"The anecdote of my religion is necessary for you to hear, as it shows that my race once held Corellon in the highest esteem. We worshiped Corellon with the zeal one might expect from any loving child-race, but on this world, we have all but abandoned Corellon. When the land grew poisonous, and but one avenue lay before us, our faith in our god withered with the light of the sun. Some remain consciously devoted, while others wonder if Corellon was but a dream drafted from the peace and warmth of a long dead world. For many years, I have felt the sting of the absence of the sun. While I visited Roarke in his exemplary castle, I was brought into a room crafted to resemble the surface world, as it appeared for a brief time but five hundred years ago. Unlike many, I was alive then. Unlike many, I could feel the illusions' warmth, and detest my ignorance of an event that may have reshaped my life. At one time, I could have gone to the ancient lands of my ancestors, where the green fields and groves of trees blossomed in the loving care of my people. I detested that room. It showed that I was too weak to do anything about restoring the only place that would accurately honour my people. A failure elves are to the world, to allow her to degrade into such a state. Beyond our control I cannot believe. Perhaps it truly was a war which smote the world into ruin, but we will not know until we restore life to the dying lands."
"Restoration is the only path which can redeem a broken and misused heart to some form of glory, yet restoration is admittance of loss." Cedric paused for the first time since he started talking, his voice trailed his words with a myriad of notes, as a song my carry multiple emotions, his speech carried the despair of loss and the hope of renewal.
"I do not wish to be subject to the despair brought from powers beyond my control or origin, but I cannot help but desire to fight against them and bring some peace and prosperity to the world. In the past, I sought philosophy on truth, because I revealed that it would allow me to understand what I should and should not do."
"Truth is but the most commonly believed lie." He quoted Kimmuriel with a fairly accurate impersonation of the drow's voice.
"A drow had better understanding of human nature than I, which troubles me to no end. A warmonger who sought destruction until these later year s of his life, or months I should say, when he seemed to cease his slaughter of the weak, and begun some defense of that which had none."
"What truth is there in his actions? I became his puppet merely through coincidence, which he probably arranged to occur. He masterminded the kingdoms here, and allowed the people to bring themselves into some form of society. Instead of destroying everything, as he has done his entire trip from the east to hear, he built a grand system."
"One must wonder why?" Cedric stated to the distant south, " I think he has found a very interesting game to play, and the pieces may deny his control, but they act as he wants. Some God of Chaos he is, allowing us to believe we are safe from his wraith, when I believe we are but one offence away from total destruction." Cedric looked at Aella.
"What are we to do?"

Okay..Onyx dropped the dragging lizard.
"Well I didn't know that. I thought he'd make good belts and handbags and maybe boots."
Though while Cedric went on, Onyx only smirked.
"You remind me of Nelphean. My father used to say to that kind of speech that it's not faith you need, it's trust. there are powers both in spirit and in flesh that can sunder you from one life into the next with a thought or a single motion of an arm or wing. And they all have thier own reasons and agendas. So don't have faith that things will turn out right in the end, but trust in yourself, and those friends you have, to do what it right. like the spider and the basilik..can a necromancer revive thier corpses into smething more monsterous? Sure. but becuase they are dead, he can do nothing to them but raise them back. A necromancer is more deadly on the living, filling thier bodies with poisons and disease, ans raising that corpse, then he is the simple dead."
"Did our action possible bring about another more dangerous evil? yes. Did we do the right thing protecting the people from what they were now. yes. and becuase we did, the potential necromantic threat is lessened even if it does occour. And we didn't do this becuase some diety's law, or a paladin's zeal...but becuase the people trust us to protect and help them, and we accepted that trust and do what we can so that they will not feel it misplaced."
"Yes it is. I'll get you somethign nice to eat, that hopefully won't upset your stomach. I'll be right back, Chev'."
And Mlaik left teh room, going downstairs to teh kitchen, and ordering about those present in the manne rof things that should be done and made, as well and getting a sheet of paper and marking down names. Arthur, Zahara. Yes, he woudl keep a tab on everyone that upset her.

Aella looked at the dead creature for soem time, wondering if the venom would be good for any of Meilikki's potions. She still knew how to make them after all. In the end, she decided against it. She didn't know how to harvest it properly, and could end up hurting herself, as the two talked, her brow was furrowed in concentration. Aella was...slower than most at this sort of thing. Her thinking process was long, ruined by years of physical torture.
When at last she did speak, it seemed to her they had been waiting too long and had already given up hope of a response.
"What is faith? What is trust? Maybe these are just words, and the feelings..er...emotions are the same thing anyway. these creatures that are not equal, if left to the designs of nature, the natural chaos factor, will begin to adear to it. Eventually all living things gain enemies. Do we trust in natural chaos? Do we have faith in it? It doesn't matter. Such things will happen anyway. Anything living we need no worry about, not long term anyway."
Another long pause from a speach that seemed to make no sense to her. She was running on a vauge feeling. "What does it matter if your old home is sundered? Memories do not die. Time does not die. Does finding a new home mean you have abandoned the old? You must consider what the old home was. A hut. A pile of wood or rock fashioned into spaces. Why should you hold yourself to this? Home is what you make it. If you leave your home in ruins you have nothing to walk towards, to strive for."
She sighed. "The end of a journey, the begining of one. Nothing is ever new, only different. If you had not met soemone, would they still exist? Of course. To out yourself in such a central position is foolish, otherwise the worl would vanish around you."
She scratched at her head, trying to remeber and udnerstand everything had been said. "Kim created the most chaos. He milked this region. A war, a battle, two sides. Peoiple are killed, people are angry. What he did was involve a great number of people for a veriaty of different reasons. He inspired chaose of every front. What he did was much more effective then simply destroying everything, where nothing 'new' could take root and blosom into more chaos. I think."
"What do we do?" She looked from Onyx to Cedric, making sure Cedric caught her eye, though she wasn't sure why that was important. "the answer is.....yes."
"The suggestion doesn't matter. The answer is yes." She frowned, looking at her feet. "I am not sure why that feels right. Do we move forward? Do we fall back? Do we love? Do we fight? No closes doors, yes opens doors and unlocks the window."
A bold move for Aella, uncomfortalbe with touching others yet, stood between the two and took their hands, smiling happily. "Do we hold hands and find a future together? Yes."

Oh good, she was getting a reprieve. But really...why the hell had she suddenly fixated on that particular aspect? Who knew...it was probably best if she didn't think about it anyway...she'd start giving signals and then he would catch them and then one thing would lead to another...then with her self concious little self it would get awkward and....oh it was an irritating thing to think about wasn't it? Very. So then refocusing she sighed and leaned back in her chair as he had left. "Joy...food."
Wasn't this interesting? Sevilin thought that maybe he would laugh if the situation were a little different and what not, but like it or not he did feel perhaps some empathy with Arthur. Why when drow weren't supposed to care? Because that aspect between males, at least in a Llothian or sub Llothian like society, was actually a bonding point from where they all derived an understanding with each other...a sort of mutual respect for what was endured and such.
Though then he stiffened a little as he caught Zahara's gaze and he knew what she was asking and more or less before he could stop himself he had merely nodded. Damn it those actions that just seemed to be spurred on by her pleading looks. But his attention wavered back to Zykariel and then Sevilin frowned a little. "Could you watch your language please?" Though he wasn't sure if he was entirely comfortable with hearing this or worse yet his son. Just because he couldn't understand didn't mean anything.
It was a curious thing though, how Zahara seemed so upset by it. He knew she didn't like it but he'd never seen her act this way about it. Then again how would he know? It wasn't like they sat down and had long drawn out discussions...she was just being Zahara and tending to Arthur. Simple as that.

Arthur sighed, he just couldn't think about any of it right now he just couldn't bring back those memories of that time with Laudi; if he did who knows how he would of reacted he could of just acted all calm, maybe upset, or even so angry he would of yelled his head off. But he didn't want to get upset, not in front of Zahara, not in front of Sevilin and certainly not in front of their child. But before he could say another word he felt a pair of eyes just staring right at him, slowly he looked down to see Zahara's beautiful eyes looking back at him, and Arthur stared right back but quickly turned away; he knew that she figured out what had happened to him, the look in her eyes told him that and if he dared to look at her eyes again he would of broken down right there. He couldn't be weak he just couldn't be, not in front of them.
So he just kept his eye away from both drow without another word, he didn't want them look at him, he didn't want to look in their eyes and see the sadness they had for him; the both of them told him he needed to be stronger than he already was so he had to keep up the act or they may look at him like he was a fool and a weakling like they always had. Though his ears lightly twitched to the sound of Zahara saying something but he couldn't pick it out, it was too low but he didn't care. Then after a moment had passed he felt movement underneath him and looked down to see Zahara gently pulling his pants up as she tried to be careful not to hurt him by rubbing the fabric against his skin; which the young elf was kind of grateful for. But then he notice that Zahara wanted him to step out of his pants, an odd suggestion but he did as he was told without no complaint and was even helped by the drow healer too. After his right foot made it through his pants he stood there with his arms crossed as Zahara stood up finally but instead she uncrossed his arms and said they needed to talk about what happened to him but he turned his head lightly away; he just wanted to go to his room and lay in his bed.
But it seemed that he wasn't going to be doing that anytime soon as Zahara pushed him gently into the chair she used earlier when she was breast feeding her son. A light blush appeared on Arthur's face when Zahara dropped down on her knees again so she could look into his single blue eye as she asked him who did this to him, she wanted to hear of who raped him. Arthur blinked a few times then slowly shifted his head so it was looking downwards and not at the lovely drow, he couldn't say it while looking at her, but remembering that a child was present he tried to keep his voice low enough. "First off...the creature who...you know...was a drakklin named Laudi...she had to mate with me in order to create some sort of brood I don't know what...but when I was put in the same room as her I tried to fight her off and I guess I said something wrong because next thing I knew I was on the ground in shackles and...she just wouldn't stop until..." At that point Arthur's voice was close to breaking but he took a deep breath and let it out before continuing, his voice now seemed so full of hate. "The person who made me do all of this...Malik...that b*****d...he said it was for payment of me being with his slaves while he was in Andal...but I didn't do anything they came onto me! I knew before he opened the door there was something wrong and I tried to back myself out of it but he forced me in there...saying he didn't care even if I was eaten...that son of a b***h..." By now Arthur was really angry as his hands were turned into fists, they were closed so tightly that they were shaking.

A slight grin from onyx.
"Now you got all of us talking philosophy. bad elf."
A chuckle though, when Aella took thier hands, making sure Cedric caught her eye. why? maybe because she knew when she said anything he was sure to pay attention. Or was this the same as his father before him, the half elf already showing preference to the elf over the foriegn vah. well that dampened his happy mood some.
"Some things are new. Like me. as far as we know...there were no Vah ever here. so I am new to this place, and it is new to me. and had I not met you, and taken you from Deepwater, woudl you still exist? that question may nto be yes. for if I had not done what I did, there is a good chance that...thing that claimed it was human...woudl have recapture and destroyed what little of you was left."
Another little philosophical point. but he looked at her taking his hand, and gave hers a slight squeeze.
"Take my hand, if we be friends, and let teh future restore amends?"
okay it was a butchery of a shakespear line, but it at least sounded good.

"Language Arthur." She snapped automatically. So she had heard what Sevilin had said, or maybe she was just reacting off of her own feelings about cursing. She only did it when she was really upset. Listening to Arthur, the hatred and bitterness in his voice, the way he spoke of what had happened to him...it was all coming back to her now. Shackles, a dagger, lots of blood, even tears. Cruel laughter and a helpless man, forced to do such a despicable thing. Her hands tightened on the arms of the chair to the point if she had had pale skin her knuckles would have been white. She sorted through everything Arthur was saying, filing away bits and pieces of information. Drakklin...Laudi? Laudi...she knew that name. Wait, Laudi had been the overendowed woman who'd taken Malik and her DNA and made Tarhu. Violet eyes went to the little shoulder fairy. What the hell was a drakklin anyway? Sounded like a dragon but much worse. Her mind was still processing but when she heard Malik's name she went completely and utterly still. "Malik did this?" So he hadn't learned his lesson the first time? Well of course not, she'd punched Piper not Malik. Maybe it was time Malik got his just desserts. He'd altered events and caused one child to appear and now he'd caused a rape. He had to be stopped. "This is too far. Arthur...there's a salve on my dresser, a bluish-green color. If you put that on the areas it's really sore, it should help." She stood up and nodded to him, summarily dismissing him from her mind even while her thoughts caused an uncontainable anger that became clear in her eyes. They were positively glowing. Her mouth was set, she knew now what had to happen. One deep breath and she turned to Sevilin. "You might want to take him out of here for a little while."

Oh yes, he could see where this was going the moment that the name Malik was uttered. Zahara would know go into defensive raging mode and seek out the man, then confront him, probably with a sharp object and attempt to get her words to him and even better, said sharp object. Malik would react back in his own defense and would end up hurting her. Then enter in the surface elf factor, as Piper would be forced to choose a side or choose none and have to deal with it. Even if she didn't she'd call herself guilty by association, seeing as she 'didn't stop Malik' and she was supposed to be his concious or something like that. See, he did notice what went on around him.
Sevilin shook his head. "Barreling in head first..." No, Sevilin wasn't taking it as serious as she was...but he just couldn't. He was programmed, brain washed if you will, to simply be passive about it. Be it something that happened to himself or another.

Arthur had now calmed down when he had finally told Zahara everything that happened in the best way he could without even having to explain it in detail; which he was glad he didn't have to or he would have broken down from the memories that would of come back. Though slowly he looked back up and at the female drow with a small puzzled look on his face before he knew what she was telling him, so she had something already made for this kind of pain huh? How thoughtful for her. "Thanks Zahara..." He muttered and grabbed his lower garments and started to put them back on.
When he was done putting on his shoes he stood fully and looked back and forth between the two drow who were in the room with him, it seemed that Zahara was going to go off and confront Malik about what he had done while Sevilin didn't even take this seriously. But Arthur was worried of what could happen when Zahara charged head first at Malik to fight him over what happened and he shook his head but he had a funny feeling that if he said a word he would either get ignored or would be told to just shut up and stop acting human, so he kept his mouth quite, seemed everyone's mind was made up anyway.

Aella looked at Onyx and smiled. "No, the answer would still be yes. I might have been destroyed sometime later, I might have become brain washed like the others, but I would still have existed. I existed before you and I would have existed after, just in a different fashion."
She sqeezed back, now a more comfortable with hand holding. Meilikki had told her once that if she wanted to get over this fear of hers, she would have to initiate contact, isntead of waiting for soemone to solve her problem. She'd like be like her someday, all smart and wise and everyone seemed to adore her. She might be afraid on the inside, but she never let it show. She was always calm, precies, and well kept. She smiled to herself and got back to the topic at hand.
"Yeah. Amends and stuff."
Tarhu hid her face as the strange elf was inspected. She'd learned enough now to know shame, and she would not look at Arthur afterwards, being uncomfortable with it.
